Please don't let this topic become useless!

The original intention was so Australians could come here and share and see posts about current sales. I used to regularly check this topic for that reason. But more and more it's losing that focus. Personally I think discussion about buying from non-Australian web stores is off topic, but I'm prepared to tolerate that if it's in moderation. But please, no rants about price differentials; take it somewhere else. Make a topic in "General" if you want.

Fair enough about the rants but I see tips on which stores ship to Australia and any bargains they have as entirely legitimate content.

This thread is about how Australians can get Lego bargains and it's a sad fact that buying overseas is what you have to do to get the best deals.

If Australian retailers were charging a fair price for their goods it wouldn't be an issue.

Also, I went to the Little Sprout annual 50% off toy sale in Canberra Civic today and there was no lego whatsoever. Big dissapointment!

Didn't the Little Sprout 50% off sale signs at BrickExpo feature a prominent Lego logo? You know, those signs that lured you into looking at their full priced sets until you read the small print that it was just an ad for their upcoming sale.

Can anyone confirm my recollection?

I partially agree, but it gets a bit tiresome coming to this topic hoping to find Aussie Sales and finding only someone complaining that B&N canceled their order. I think we all are quite aware that it's a hit and miss with if they allow it. Perhaps I should create a "No-USA people buying from US stores" topic; it's not an 100% Australian issue after all...

That could be quite a good idea. I know it's definately a big topic for Kiwi's (and probably many others) too. I've placed a few orders with B&N over the last few days and there's no reason that 'topic' doesn't deserve it's own.. topic

Would be intresting to keep track of various ways to Importing too.

Sorry, I didn't mean to kick anything off. Lets just keep it to Lego bargains. Whens the next big store having a sale?!

Yup I think they did include the Lego logo, thats why I went to check it out, got in at 9am, and there was no Lego at all, just other old toys they wanted to shift the stock off.

:sceptic: You're forgiven and I'll even leave the link... but please don't do it again. I only just made a compliaint about this topic losing focus afterall...

Oh, I maybe should add that I'm in Australia and am only selling within Australia, which is why I posted it in there. All the same, very sorry. :)

Done!

I already knew that and it doesn't make much difference. It's still off topic.

My local BigW has Kingdom and Aliens Conquest in stock.

Same, mine also had the Technic Flatbed Truck for $148.

$50000! Thats insane.

And I suppose all of them were for immediate payment :hmpf:

That guy is probably sitting on a beach somewhere now with a bag full of cash and nothing to lose.

And the negative feedback has started.

Isn't there a saying that you can't con those that aren't greedy?

But on another note, I happen to have 2,000 units of set# 10179 sitting unused in my Nigerian warehouse that I need to move on to caring homes. Only $300 each including shipping. Each set comes with a free puppy. And a blind date with a Nigerian prince (or princess, for my gentlemen purchasers).

If interested, PM me.

Please note: Western Union payment only.

Please, people, stay focused! Siegfried just made a reminder a couple of posts above. Thanks.

Spotted a new (well new to me) NinjaGo case/battle play-mat in K-Mart in Belmont today.

Big W Belmont still has at least one of the UCS imperial shuttles left as well as some of the Pharaoh's Quest stuff.

Plenty of Heroica, new NinjaGo and new Hero Factory around if you are looking for that. No sign of any Alien Conquest at either store though.

Still no sign of any Series 5 anywhere :( (although I did see some remaining Series 4 stock if anyone in the west is still looking for some)

I think you will be lucky to see Series 5 before September, I have heard it is atleast a few weeks away yet.

I believe Late September.

There's plenty of Series 5 minifigs around on eBay Australia if you're keen to get them early, and at the prices they're going for relative to the RRP, they're virtually on sale.

I've just finished disposing of the remainder from my box (I imported a full box, built a collection for myself and sold the rest). The demand is low enough that some of the figs were going in the $3.xx range. (A bit disappointing actually, but I wasn't looking to make a profit.)

Either Australians have become saturated and lost interest in the minfigs (the massive amounts of the green Series 3 packets Big W still have on their shelves could hint at this), or simply want the fun of squinting at the dot codes and fondling the packets at the department store counters!

The RRP will be $4.99, but Myer and Target are bound to have 20% off sales starting about a week after they appear on the shelves.

Or the jacked price up killed their sales.

This is exactly what a couple of parents told me on the day Series 3 was released. $5 pushed them past their price point for an impulse buy as they felt it wasn't value for money.

Nice to know they are out there but given my utter hatred for eBay (for reasons I wont go into) that doesn't help.

So I am waiting for them to hit the shelves locally OR for someone in Australia to start selling the ones I want on Bricklink.

How much was the Kingdoms prison tower going for??

My Local Big W has the prison tower at $88.

They also had on the shelves the new Kingdom sets and Alien sets.

The Mill village raid was $96 which is great considering the RRP is $119.

They also had the Technic flatbed truck $148, the Supercar $188 and the cherry picker truck $59.88

1.David Jones (Brisbane-Carindale) have the Heroica sets, and a few of the previous larger sets

2.Has anyone seen them at Myers yet, to take advantage of board game offer

3.just received Mr Toys toyworld offer - buy 1 lego, get 2nd half price - Thursday to Sunday

4.not trying to rehash old territory, but I really like to see all the comments about B&N and other alternate places to lego - has been a couple of really hot tips I have been able to take advantage offer - any post that shows how to get cheaper lego in AU is OK by me

5. without going on about pricing, the heroica sets seem to be very similarly priced in the US, UK and FR - doesn't seem any reason to import those :-)
