With the Father's Day promotions going on, you'd think the shops would put Lego on sale, but noooo... they don't see it as a good activity for fathers and sons to spend quality time together

I would have thought it would be a great idea to promote families building the bigger sets together. I finished off the Podracer sets tonight, my kids were in awe of their colours. Even moreso when I showed them the part from Ep 1 which it was inspired from!

so what happend to that guy selling the death star??? his listing and account dont seem to be on ebay anymore ???!??

Come on mate, please stay on topic as has been requested by the Mod's. They might not take to kindly to the excessive question marks either. We all love this thread & don't want to see it closed because it continues to go off topic.

To make this post somewhat worthwhile, I popped into my local Big W & also found there to be no clearance on the King's Castle. But an idea I am yet to try is to take in a copy of the discounted docket to a competitor to try & price match. Might be worth trying yourselves if you get a chance?

If only another retailer had it in stock. I think DJs might have it but they wouldn't sell it because I think it would be under their cost price.

The Lego deathstar thing was moved to another thread about buying stuff fron another country I think.

Should be good for people wanting Series 5 (assuming Target has stock when the sale hits)

Target Newton has series 5 minifigs, but how dare Target put MB on the same page as Lego ! :sarcasm_smug:

Sounds like the next round of Lego discounting has started, I can guess Kmart or BigW will be next week....then Myer a week after that !

Yep, Target Newton was getting the minifig boxes plus Kingdom's sets out tonight on the shelves

Were the Kingdoms sets in with the rest of the Lego, or were they somewhere else in the store (eg the sections used during their big toy sale) because I looked on the weekend there and saw the new collectible figs there but no Kingdoms in the Lego section? I was hoping to grab the windmill set when the sale starts this week.

I was hoping to grab the windmill set when the sale starts this week.

Just grab it from Big W as the regular price there ($96) is already 20% off the RRP of $120. They also had the Dragon Prison for around $28 which is roughly the same as you would pay with a 20% discount.

The other two sets (Blacksmith Attack and King's Carriage Ambush) are worth waiting for a 20% off sale though as the regular BIG W pice for them is pretty much RRP ($18 and $70). The King's Carriage set is a rip-off at RRP so definitely worth getting on sale!

They had the Kingdom's blacksmith set at the same time.

A great idea if I was close to a Big W (and could guarantee they had them in stock and without security device destroyed boxes), but there's a local Target I go past twice a day, so it's much easier to go there.

I picked up two 5512 sets at my local k-mart today. I was annoyed I missed these at the toy sale but happily snapped these up. They had some season four minifigs which I looked at then put back as $5 was too steep. I looked online when I got home and decided to order a carton of season five internationally due to the much cheaper price tag!

Just reasd on bricksdownunder that Target is having a sale on. *oh2*

Hurray, it’s that time again – a Target 20% off LEGO® sale. Starting this Thursday 8 September and going until the 14th, Target has 20% off all LEGO® and LEGO® Games. They are also promoting the new Hero Factory and Heroica sets in their latest catalogue. Check out My link for full details.

No word of Star Wars sets but all stock is 20% off. I would like to pick up the 2 new Spongebob sets but I havent seen them on the shelfs yet, but when they do hit the shelf they dont last long.

Can anyone plaes confirm if they have seen the new Spongebob sets, thanks.

Both spongebob sets have been on the Target shelves since their big mid-year sale.

You should be able to find them if they havent vanished already.

Target Adelaide CBD has nothing spectacular to offer. A bunch of POTC going up but nothing else really.

I was hoping for a random reallotment of Maces Starfighters :)

No S5 minifigs either.

Was the POTC lower than 20% off RRP?

Has anyone else seen POTC hit the "bargain bins" yet?

I noticed that UK retailer The Hut had at least one set at over 50% off: 4194 Whitecap Bay was briefly on sale for £35 ($53 AUD) which I think included VAT, so the export price would have been even cheaper (a lot cheaper than $119.99 Australian RRP, or $96 at 20% discount).

I wonder if this is a sign that POTC will soon be priced to clear?

(Also, NSW department stores, especially Target, must have been rubbing their hands with glee at today's teachers' strike. I saw no end of disgruntled parents and grandparents escorting school age children around the toy aisles, many clutching LEGO boxes. Much pleading was heard. "Teachers" may be accompanied by four letter words for parents today, but not to stores!)

Big W Riverton (WA) had 2 boxes of S5 minifigs @$4.74 each

Bought 5 random and scored a Cave Woman, Dino-Man, Zookeeper, Lumberjack and Gladiator. I must say though that these are the 1st series that I personally have noticed the shocking decline in quality. The Dino-Man almost feels fake, legs very loose, all of them feel very light and don't make the right "click" sound when attaching things. I know it has been a constant discussion, but for me to whinge about this means they really ARE bad.

You'd think. But, characteristically for big Australian retail, the Target I went to had the new stock - including series 5 minifigs - still packed on a pallet at the end of an aisle.
