I'm not sure which overseas sources you're referring to, but I got two boxes from Magic Magnus (sounds dodgy, doesn't it) for $282.24, including postage, which turns out to be a little over $2.35 per minifig.

Sorry, I didn't know about that seller but that looks like a great way to get a full set, thanks.

Which store currently has the cheapest price on the Kingdoms blacksmith?

I just got Blacksmith attack from TRU yesterday for about $13 after the 20% discount. Hope that helps

Just a heads up Guys, Big W seem to be clearing a bit of their LEGO Stock onto the clearance trolleys again sets of note that i have seen so far after 3 different store visits are...

8078 Portal of Atlantis for $70,

7985 City of Atlantis for $68,

8097 Slave I for $80,

3182 Airport for $88 and a few left over World Racer sets between $30 to $40 for 8899 Gator Swamp and 8898 Wreckage Road

They also have the 7206 Fire Helicopter for $29 , down from an RRP of $79.99

I think they also have the fire boat 7207 and the off road truck with the boat on the back 7213 for $29, but I didn't see any in stock at my local BigW

Just to clarify, did you see each of those sets for the same price at more than one of the three stores you visited? (Instead of, say, Portal on clearance at one store but not another, City of Atlantis only at a different store, etc.)

It's strange how the Big W clearances work. Here in Sydney I checked just one Big W this afternoon and found:

Portal was indeed on clearance - there were 4 very mangled boxes in the clearance rack (see photo for the condition of the one I picked up) - but they were ticketed on the shelf at and scanned at $124.

City of Atlantis wasn't on the clearance shelves, still in the toy aisle. But the funny thing was, it had actually gone UP in price! When I last saw it at Big W, months ago, it was $96. Now it's $112.

They didn't have any of the others in stock. So the same product can go for very different "clearance" prices depending on the Big W you're in. And in this store, the higher priced Portal wasn't even guaranteed to be complete, since a few were opened I'd bet pieces had been removed, though didn't want to check for fear store security would assume I'd done it!

Kmart seems more universal when running clearances, don't they? When we heard, say, The Battle of Alamut had hit $70, it generally doesn't matter where in the country you are, that's the price it was (assuming it was still in stock).

Was just a Myer and saw a sign for 25% of Lego for today and tomorrow. There is also an extra 10% of toys for MyerOne card holders.

I didn't buy anything so can't confirm the sale. I was so bummed though because all the Harry Potter Lego sets would have pretty decently priced after the discounts but I've already go them all! D'oh!

Big news.....for two days 25% off all Lego at Myers, but no extra for Myer One though.....sales lady very kind tonight let me had it a day early for two prisoner transports (one is being a tradie van.....look out in the town forum in a few days  )

How come the extra MyerOne discount doesnt apply? I thought it was valid until Sunday?

Looks like that 25% off is the place to get my Blacksmith shops (Kingdoms and maybe NinjaGo) and my City moon buggy :)

Glad I didnt make the stupid decision to buy them today at K-Mart at full RRP. Maybe I should go to somewhere with both a Toys R Us and a MYER so I can be sure to get what I want at the best possible price (might be able to find Series 3 at the same place too for my race car driver :)

Yep, I'd agree that that it's not consistent for Big W. I didn't see any of the Portal/Atlantis/Airport stuff reduced, and had noticed the price for CoA @ $112 as well. Which makes K-Marts $89 look a bit better, and if you can get it at Myer for $79, well that's a pretty good result at this stage. Portal for $80 is pretty darn good as well, 1000 pieces for < 10c / piece.

But... I did find the Fire chopper / boat for $29, with a number of each at Big W Capalaba. No yellow sticker or anything, just the regular tag. Boat was out on those stands in the middle of the floor, choppers just on the shelf. So either they're clearing them without drawing attention to them, or it's the new regular price.

Onto K-mart. More consistent, yes, but beginning to consistently annoy me. The clearance tags on the Atlantis and the Kingdom stuff is OK, but sticking a Clearance $199 on a Queen Anne was a bit naughty in my books. I recall they did that last year with one of the Star Wars sets as well.

Best of luck hunting the bargains everyone. Looks like there's a little clearing taking place before Christmas requires shelf space, but it's not easy to track.

I just had more of the same - 2 Big W stores, nothing on clearance.

I'm starting to wonder if the retailers are aware of and appreciate forums like this, posting up bargains and sales tips. Based on what I'm seeing, they could using tactics to make it harder to track bargains. However, I don't buy anything else, so they're not getting my money (speaking for myself)

Haha, I wouldn't have thought so!

The 10% extra only applies to catalogue items, not this 25% off for two days sale.

I can't guarantee this but I think the extra 10% is manually applied at the cashier. (The reason I think it's manual is that sometimes the staff member has to refer to the catalogue to check whether to apply it or not.) So if the first item you buy is entitled to the extra 10%, then subsequent may go through as well. It would probably rely on finding a less than on-the-ball staff member...

Even if not, 25% is better than 20%. Eat your heart out, TRU! And 25% is almost as good as the MyerOne (20%+10%) discount which translates to 28%. Of course, MyerOne on a 25% discount would translate to 32.5%, which would be seriously dangerous for budgets!

So much maths on a Saturday morning. Time to head off on a LEGO hunt!

Well, it seems Myer Carindale didn't get the internal memo. No signs up for 25% off, only signs for 20% off until Sep 30. And signs for the 10% Myer One only applying to catalog items.

Was the 25% for two days a sign advertised sale, or a flyer/e-mail advertised sale?

BigW in Midland had the Kings castle reduced to $98 However I picked one up on clearance for $70, you will find most "clearance" items that aren't consistent in pricing over all stores are "quit" lines where managers can reduce to what they see fit or not reduce at all. (hit and miss with quit lines)

Just got City of Atlantis for $71.10. $79 reduced price plus extra 10% off. :classic:

The 10% extra only applies to catalogue items, not this 25% off for two days sale.

It may also apply to Atlantis sets. Check with your local store. I was told by a salesgirl that the Atlantis theme is being discontinued.

I think it's a sign advertised sale - Myer Booragoon had signs indicating the 25% off and the 10% Myer One offer. Would that mean that it varies from store to store?

I wouldn't have thought so until I saw those signs. But Carindale also didn't have anything up about Atlantis, and the price marked on it was still $119 or whatever it was normally, so it could be that Carindale hadn't caught up with the rest. Normally I'd expect all the Myer to be the same, so I'm interested in what others report in.

Might be that I need to stop looking at the closest one (Carindale) and go a bit further on Lego hunts.

Carousel had the 25% off signs up and sold me the City Moon Buggy and the Kingdoms Blacksmith at 25% off (which beat the TRU prices on both sets)

Surprisingly TRU had the lowest RRP of any retailer for the Collectable Minifigures (add in the 20% off and the race car driver I picked up was a bargain)

I was in Myer at Carindale yesterday at 10am and they had a large table in the Lego section covered in 'Atlantis' sets.

There was a large sign that read, '$79'. The lady had to manually take off the MyerOne 10% which brought the price down to $71.10.

There was 20% off all Lego [ except for that already on special ] - 10% for MyerOne card.

There were a lot of very happy people with their arms filled with Lego.

Oh, excellent! Obviously I was in and out too quickly, because I missed that. Also interesting that they were taking the 10% in addition to the 20% - well done there.

Now, here's hoping there is something left... :-)

I seem to be off the myer one spam list, I never got an email about the sale.

I'm still looking for a store in Adelaide where the figures are in a quiet spot so I can have a good rummage. It's just a little odd feeling up lots of little bags while standing right next to the checkouts. The worst one that I've found was toyworld in the CBD, where the cranky lady at the counter snapped at me saying "there's a two minute limit on looking through those."

Well that sucks... I found a bookshop selling S5 figs for $3.99 - took the girl behind the counter & me 30 minutes to find a dwarf...

Bingo!! I couldn't of said it better myself, all the ones i posted about were "quit" stock from the store managers, which is completely different to what K-Mart does, so it best to find them trolleys which normally located near the books and Hi-Fi areas.
