I just got back from the news agents and One had no papers and a hole box of minifigs left. The lady sold them to me for $2 a pop and I bought 10. I went to another newsagent and they gave me two for free, they had more but they wanted to give them to their suupliers and delivery guys first them he said come in and he will give the rest away.

I stress to everybody that they take a trip to thir local newsagent and see if they have any stcok left as they will be sending them back in a day or two. It seems funny that some shops give them away and other say you need the coupon. Any way its free Lego. Now I have alot of little Lego goodies to stick into the stockings for son, nease, nefews, relitives.

Its also much better feeling for what your got when your not in the shop with the clerk looking over your sholder thinking waht it that guy doing? Keeping them sealed so the kids can open them but I wanted to know what I got if I wanted to keep them so I bag felt them to confirm.

Hay all I just remembered while I was @ Big W on Saturday night I saw that they had Star Wars kids watches. The first time I have seen them in Australia and in a Retail store. So all those years of complaining that other contries get permotional amd cool Lego products is starting top pay off. I found @ Big W a week earlier the lightup Darth Vader tourch. Over the weekend Sydney sideres got free minifigs with the paper like the UK. Last year for the December Lego mag we accually got Lego in it  .

I every survey that I take with Lego I complain that us Aussie's always missout on these giveaways and pollybags, now it seem that a little of is starting to tricle through.

*huh* Darn. I can't believe I missed out on this...

Im sure alot of people miss out on this one as well as when I go to the newsagents they still have nearly a box full of them. I asked what they are doing with them and they are still waiting to hear from Fairfax to send them back or give them away. I would get into your local newsagents and ask how you could aqurie some minifigs. I got two for free at one newsagent. It doesent hurt to ask.

Check out the BigW catalogue next week on Lasoo - CTT for $97

Darn, I just bought a turbo tank (amazon fr), that is a great Australian price though for the CTT.

yes and considering it has been off the shelves for almost a year now, too bad all i want is aayla from this set and i already got her through ebay

Oddly Target has decided straight after 20% Lego to actually discount some sets again !

99 bucks will get you either the Harbour or Police Station sets.

23 bucks prisoner transport, 15 police dog unit and 39 boat transporter.

The police truck is a bit of a waste at only 6 bucks off at 69 dollars....big deal ! :hmpf_bad:

Happy shopping anyway. :classic:

Any thing else ?

Only other set in the catalogue that reached the magic number was Battle For Naboo (the one with gungans & battle droids). Same price.

Strange that it's not advertised in their recent catalogue?????

Wouldn't that be a first in Australia, Buy 1 get 1 50% off........... they must really be needing the sales and dollars

to come if they're offering what the US has been getting for the last decade.

ye i was at target today and saw this being advertised for lego and other toys, works out at 25% off for both items which is probably about as good as it gets from target

K-mart used to do this, and it was back in the time when they regularly clearanced Lego at very good prices, so there were some real bargains to be had. Anyway, at best it's a 25% discount, it's not enough to even get me into Target to have a look and I work 20 metres from one.

Hewman, if I could 'Like' posts I'd 'Like' yours, but I'll have to settle for a +1 (except the work bit) and a  .

Aw, schucks.

But back on topic, I was just checking out new releases on shop at home, and the new jousting set available soon is now $180, I'm sure it was $200 before. If I'm imagining things, anyone feel free to correct me. Perhaps Lego are finally getting the message that Australian prices are too high, particularly for sets that appeal to discerning AFOLs.

No you are 100% correct - it was $AUD 200. The price differential when compared to the $USD 120 was a source of some irritation for a friend of mine who flatly rejected the idea of getting it as a consequence. The $180 is a little more reasonable...

Target has been having Lego on sale a lot recently. I've picked up quite a bit at 20% off on their sales. They had 20% off all toys last week so picked up the Mill Village Raid set for $95, but they were all buy sold out of City sets.

Maybe they are trying to clear out all the current stock for the new 2012 sets to come in.

The biggest problem is that all the shops (BigW, Kmart and Target) all have different sets in stock so you have to go to all of them to get what you want.

The best sale I've found was buy 2 get 1 free at Myer, but I don't know if they advertise them so you just have to get lucky when you go in to find the sale. I was 'this' close to spending over $300 on Lego that day to get some of the bigger sets, but just couldn't do it. If I come across another one though...

Well, I would hope the 482 pages of this thread would have made people just a little bit more lucky... :)

Become a frequent visitor here and the kind people will quickly tell you when a decent sale is approaching. The weekend Myer 3 for 2 toy sales have always been reported by Friday afternoon at the latest.
