jonwil Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 MYe Carousell has a Tower bridge @ 399 plus Friends. $10 more than RRP on the big house @ 129, no idea on the others. Very close to boycotting MYER completely.
jonwil Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 (edited) I can confirm that some (but not all) of the Friends sets at MYER are more expensive than Shop @ Home RRP. The splash pool and outdoor bakery are $1 more The pet patrol, music stage, convertible, puppy house, workshop, fashion studio, cafe all match Shop @ Home RRP. The tree house and dog show are $2 more expensive The vet and beauty shop are $5 more expensive And the house is (as I said earlier) $10 more expensive. Looks like Target will be the best place to get Friends sets (especially if they continue with the semi-regular %off sales) EDIT: Do we have release dates or retailer names for the Recycling Center/truck, Robbers Hideout, Sydney Opera House architecture set, Series 7 figures or Marvel Super Heroes sets? Edited February 25, 2012 by jonwil
Brickus Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 (edited) Recycling truck and robbers hideout are supposed to be released in April, series 7 in May, and Marvel Super Heroes in April, according to the LEGO magazine. EDIT 27th Also toyworld has a new catalogue starting today. You get a free police watch if you spend 100 or more, but the discounts aren't great. Edited February 26, 2012 by Brickus
lightningtiger Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 'Brickus' is right about the Toyworld catalogue, here's a link to it and it's all Lego ! Toyworld Catalogue Page
Brickmamba Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 TW running a Lego competition in April, interesting wonder what the prizes will be
jonwil Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Looks like the new Safari Building Set is a Toyworld exclusive. And 3 for $10 on Series 6 isn't that bad (although that assumes that you can get to one of the few Toyworld stores participating in the catalog AND that they have Series 6 in stock AND that they dont mind you looking for the specific ones you want with the feel-the-bag trick) If the WA stores that are catalog participants weren't so hard to get to (most of them are impossible for me to get to in fact), I would consider going there and trying to pick up some more Surgeons for my hospital :) Anyone got any suggestions of the best place for me to go to get some more Series 6?
TanTile Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 At TRU today in Melb i saw the 4438 Robbers' Hideout it was going for $69.99... is it a TRU exclusive? i hope not..

TanTile Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Doh!! I knew I should have picked it up today, I was hoping to see it at Target or something now I'll have to go back next week some time...
Brickton Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 For those looking for specific Series 6 minifigs, Dont forget that Outer Rim Trading http://www.outerrimtradingco.com.au/content/ort-home.asp? carries series 6 and sells limited numbers of pre-opened minifigs. They also have reasonable shipping rates across Australia. They also have an upcoming sale in March that you may want to look out for. I would like to add I have no affiliation with Outer Rim Trading other than they are based in my hometown of Brisbane Regards

Well at least it's not too bad price wise.....might check Gepps Cross tomorrow. Oh, yeah Friend's have arrived at Castle Plaza Target (brought 3 small sets - couldn't help myself - they are too cute ) and starting to be put out tonight at Kmart Ingle Farm.
jonwil Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 No way can I justify that set at that price. Not enough parts in it I need and certainly nothing I cant get elsewhere. Good news is this means that the recycle truck wont be a TRU exclusive (since TRU wouldn't have a second City exclusive so close to this one) Ended up with 3 more Surgeons for my hospital today thanks to David Jones (yes I paid RRP for them but hey, no-one I can actually get to with stock left is going to sell me what I want any cheaper :) Plus the place was as good as deserted so I could feel the bags with no questions from anyone :)
WetWired Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Alien Conquest mothership for $57.59 from www.ozgameshop.com They also do free delivery and have a few other various lego sets Mine got to me in a couple of days after postage notification, though for those wanting perfect boxes you aren't going to get it here Ozgameshop sells lego now?! mind blown

I would like to add I have no affiliation with Outer Rim Trading other than they are based in my hometown of Brisbane Regards Their sale starts tomorrow with 25% off licensed sets and 35% off non-licensed. Shipping is a flat $10. I've never bought from them but plenty of others have had good experiences with them. Although I do worry about a small business offering 35% off, there can't be much profit margin in that. For those that have been thinking about buying some of the bigger Pharaoh's Quest sets and don't like ordering from overseas, this may be a good chance to greab them at a reasonable price.

I checked the site around 1.00am; things are already selling out. A couple of Kingdom sets I was thinking about getting were gone and the Black Pearl at $127 was gone too
Treadwah Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 The Black Pearl at $127 was gone too The only item I was interested in too :( Nice # of sales for them though.
Whup Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 I hope they're making enough out of the sales to make it worthwhile though - my daughter loves trains, so I got a couple of rail crossings and a station that I haven't seen in stores for ages. I also stumbled across the Friends sets in the girls toys section at BigW; my wife and daughter thought they were great so we picked up a fashion design set. I had no idea what the RRP for the sets were, but after looking them up most of them range from about 10% - 15% off RRP. The fashion design set was ~$14; seems expensive for 70-80 pieces but when you compare the Lego set to most of the other plastic rubbish in the girls section I think they should do well.
distortme Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Myer Adelaide now has Friends and Architecture sets. And they're still on sale if you're looking for these.
Hewman Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Myer Adelaide now has Friends and Architecture sets. And they're still on sale if you're looking for these. Thanks for the news. I might grab myself a Friends set or two, purely as gifts for future birthdays for daughters of my friends of course...
distortme Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Thanks for the news. I might grab myself a Friends set or two, purely as gifts for future birthdays for daughters of my friends of course... Got a Snow White Duplo for my niece from Toyworld. Aren't we nice! :)
lightningtiger Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Friend's sets have appeared at BigW on Goodwood Road. Plus the robbers hideout set is at TRU TTP, but at 79.99.....I'll wait for a sale.
jonwil Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 which Architecture sets were at MYER in Adelaide? I didn't think they were going to come out at RRP?
distortme Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 which Architecture sets were at MYER in Adelaide? I didn't think they were going to come out at RRP? Sorry didn't look closely but saw White House, Needle-style tower and maybe 3 more. And one was $50 - but cant tell you which one :) A bit useless really!
jonwil Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 I hope the new Sydney Opera House (which isn't the best set in the known universe but is still cool for being the first Australian themed LEGO set) shows up at MYER, it should be much easier to get it there than from Shop @ Home or from anywhere it might be sold in or near the Opera House. Wouldn't mind picking up some of the others as well (such as the Rockefeller Center or the Empire State Building) if they show up locally and if the price is right
GI blockage Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 S@H currently has Altantis theme sets for 50% off RRP. In addition they have double VIP points til 15 March, and free mini tie fighter with $90 SW spend. Also a raft of new sets are now available including Friends and 2012 Cars sets, modular Town Hall, and Sydney Opera House.
