KartoffelViking Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Not so much of a sales report, but my wonderful girlfriend got me a great surprise today; a LEGO Moleskine notebook! She bought it from "A Trip to the Moon" in Norwood (Adelaide). I probably wouldn't have bought one myself, but now that I have one I have to say that it's really funky
DrWeevil Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Not so much of a sales report, but my wonderful girlfriend got me a great surprise today; a LEGO Moleskine notebook! She bought it from "A Trip to the Moon" in Norwood (Adelaide). I probably wouldn't have bought one myself, but now that I have one I have to say that it's really funky I've been eyeing those off online - do you know how much they are selling for in store over here?
KartoffelViking Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 I've been eyeing those off online - do you know how much they are selling for in store over here? The bigger one is $40 and a smaller one is $30.
Splat Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I've been eyeing those off online - do you know how much they are selling for in store over here? (minifigs not included) They can be bought in Australia from NoteMaker (www.notemaker.com.au/collections/moleskine-lego) and possibly other retailers too. 9x14cm, 192 pages, ruled or plain versions = AU$29.95 13x21cm, 240 pages, ruled or plain versions = AU$39.95 NoteMaker shipping is AU$6.50 within Australia, of free for orders over AU$65. To me it still seems a bit much for a notebook... ...especially when I could be spending that money on more Lego
DrWeevil Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Thanks Splat, I'll be sourcing mine from overseas - around $22 and $27 shipped. :)
s2.jen.s2 Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 If you don't mind waiting until May, they're $15.32 and $11.83 from the Book Depository US - http://www.bookdepository.com/search?searchTerm=Moleskine+LEGO&search=search&selectCurrency=AUD
chrism Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Some good clearance sales at Kmart: - 4643 power boat and transporter $19 - Duplo police station and doctor's clinic, $39 each. - Alien Conquest sets looked cheap too.
GI blockage Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Battle of Hoth is actually scanning at $34 at Target - they have 30% off board games until the 14th. Add 15 cents if you would like to buy a bag. And tomorrow (Saturday) only, DJs Sydney Elizabeth St store has 20% off toys. According to a flyer advertising a baby expo there tomorrow.
jonwil Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Assuming that price on the power boat is correct (And assuming that K-Mart actually HAS stock) that is CHEAP, given that US RRP seems to be $40. I keep saying "I wont buy any more LEGO in the month of March" but a deal this cheap is worth making an exception for :)

jonwil Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Called every k-mart I can get to and they couldn't find it (whether that's because they were out of stock or whether its because they were in a clearance bin or something I dont know) Not sure if its worth the effort (and cost) involved in actually going to some stores and looking for it (given that it doesn't really have that many parts I actually need for specific MOC projects I am working on right now)
brickie Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 At a Kmart outside brisbane, I picked up a Kingdom blacksmith 6918 for $6. Not bad for 2 minifigs and a chook + lots of brownish elements.
DrWeevil Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 If you don't mind waiting until May, they're $15.32 and $11.83 from the Book Depository US - http://www.bookdepository.com/search?searchTerm=Moleskine+LEGO&search=search&selectCurrency=AUD Awesome. Thanks!
Artanis I Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Tough luck, no Battle For Hoth near me except at a shop that doesn't have sales. The other new games are fairly widespread along with Friends. While Target has a 20% off, Myer also has a difficultly worded sale including Lego at 20% off, as long as you buy at least 2 items. Ends tomorrow. (And an extra 30% off the already marked down price of many older sets.) K Mart have been selling the Knights Bus (Harry Potter) for $50 for a while, it is now $35. Nearly half price! Friends sets look quite nice. Might send one to my sister for her birthday, haha. Except she doesn't look like the one named after her.
TeufelHund Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I can confirm cheap Alien Conquest At K-mart - all roughly 40% off. I got the abduction set for $29 and would have picked up the Tripod as well and thought about the Earth Defense HQ if they'd had any of those left!
jonwil Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Can't remember the exact price but I saw a bundle in the local post office yesterday that had the Brickmaster City book and the City Sticker book combined.
jamonlego Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 early learning centre has 30% off lego - not bad prices but limited range http://www.elctoys.com.au/search.aspx?searchterm=lego
DrWeevil Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Ninjago Battle Arena 2520 is 50% off at $29 at Kmart.
jonwil Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Those deals on the larger Friends sets at ELC seem good but that assumes that your local ELC store actually carries LEGO (and carries the Friends sets)
Lord Of The Fries Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I finally saw The Battle for Hoth in Target for $50 so I picked one up.
Brickus Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I finally saw The Battle for Hoth in Target for $50 so I picked one up. I hope you didn't pay $50, because Target has 30% off boardgames and 20% off LEGO, so you should be paying $34 because of the 30%.
TheDarkness Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) Ok so I did some pricing of my local K-Mart. Quite a few clearance items scanned for lower than their tickets, and I've just put in what prices I can remember Cars Jet Escape - $25 Cars Big Bentley Bust Out - $25 Space Centre - $49 WhiteCap Bay - $69 (yes was mentioned earlier!) Madalorian or Clones Battle Pack - $9 Battle for Hogwarts - $49 i think, may have been 59 Knight Bus - $35 Battle for Naboo - $39 Space Shuttle - $39 Edited March 13, 2012 by TheDarkness
marvinblue Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Hey guys! Thanks for the heads-up! That's something that I should've checked first!! I'll send them an email and see what they say. If it's not the Recycle Truck then I'll politely ask for my money back. Got my money back from Fishpond. They appologised for the mixup as well. At least I learnt my lesson : check the picture against the set number before ordering!
