hiroki Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Has anyone seen any really good deals on last years Marina set? It has some nice minifigs and parts in it and might be worth picking up if I can do so cheap :) If you can find one during the Toys R Us sale, it's 20% off.
jonwil Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 But that's 20% off the TRU-marked-up price so its not really a good deal :)
Brickton Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) Hello All...just called TRU Garden City (Brisbane) and they told me yes they do have series 7 minifigs (just came in apparently) but they are NOT part of the current 2 for 1 offer. Can anyone else confirm they have purchased series 7 minifgs at TRU under the special offer in the current catalogue???? Edited May 11, 2012 by Brickton

Strand Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Marvel sets are starting to appear at more Target stores in Adelaide. Can't wait for a %-off sale.....fingers crossed after mother's day....or is that wishful thinking. "Celebrate this year's mother's day by gifting yourself a plastic trinket." Sounds like a hit
DrWeevil Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Sooo, has this happened to anyone else? I received an email saying my R2 had shipped on Monday/Tuesday, received my receipt Wednesday night then yesterday morning received another email saying that it was delayed due to ubexpectedly high demand. Errr huh?
Darth Draks Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Sooo, has this happened to anyone else? I received an email saying my R2 had shipped on Monday/Tuesday, received my receipt Wednesday night then yesterday morning received another email saying that it was delayed due to ubexpectedly high demand. Errr huh? I got the same email after saying it was shipped. Could be they just sent out a email to all customers over that period.
TheDarkness Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 I got the same email after saying it was shipped. Could be they just sent out a email to all customers over that period. That seems to be the general concensus on the Star Wars forum
leng jai Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Definitely some weird stuff going on with the emails. I got a notice apologizing about the delay in processing orders several days after I got a shipping notification for my Town Hall order.
pjchilds Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Mill Village Raid http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=7189-1 and City of Atlantis http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=7985-1 were at Marion (SA) Target marked clearance at $85. Looked pretty good to me vs RRP.
DrWeevil Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Mill Village Raid http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=7189-1 and City of Atlantis http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=7985-1 were at Marion (SA) Target marked clearance at $85. Looked pretty good to me vs RRP. MVR was at Kmart for $60 in January as was the Atlantis set if I recall correctly. Still, if you're wanting one now I gues it's not too bad, although I think the Atlantis set may be cheaper at Big W at the moment.
pjchilds Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 although I think the Atlantis set may be cheaper at Big W at the moment. http://www.bigw.com.au/toys/construction/lego/city/bpnBIGW_0000000257730/lego-city-of-atlantis-7985 $75 it is. I checked out BigW before Target so no idea how I missed it ... oh well, such is life ;)
WetWired Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Big W Underwood QLD has the marvel superheroes sets in stock, at least the smaller sets and factory hero build sets. Prices off the top of my head may be a dollar or 2 off, prices were not as bad as shop@home wolverine chopper and loki cube escape were $38.84 (cents figures I'm not 100% on) captain america cycle $23.?? factory hero builds (or whatever they're called) $18.?? they may have had the larger sets but I didn't pay any attention to be honest as I'm not interested in them. They weren't in the lego isle, they were on a freestanding display down the middle of the main isle heading towards the toys.
mrlegoman Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Hello All...just called TRU Garden City (Brisbane) and they told me yes they do have series 7 minifigs (just came in apparently) but they are NOT part of the current 2 for 1 offer. Can anyone else confirm they have purchased series 7 minifgs at TRU under the special offer in the current catalogue???? I purchased three series 7 minifigs at Aspley TRU and was only charged for two. (buy two get one free). I specifically asked the checkout girl and she advised that the deal is for all series, including series 7.
hiroki Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Target is having a 20% off Lego from 17-23 May. Still not a bargain for the Marvel sets as they are the same as Big W's. What would be good to buy during this sale?

What would be good to buy during this sale? Tiger has beaten to the punch, oh well....I say anything city or Star Wars. But wait the Quinjet is more than 20% off (99 bucks)....more like 23% off well it's better than 20% off or BigW's price right ? Hello, layby counter on the 17th of May.....I guess it will be the last %-off Lego sale at Target until the mid-year toy sale....still another month to wait for catalogue without prices to scan over.
pjchilds Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 http://www.bigw.com.au/toys/construction/lego/city/bpnBIGW_0000000257730/lego-city-of-atlantis-7985 $75 it is. I checked out BigW before Target so no idea how I missed it ... oh well, such is life ;) Dropped past BigW in Marion (SA) and last one on the shelf was $75 (but not marked as clearance, or even with a price-tag)... Hmm... now I have two sets I wonder if I could make something that goes nicely with Modular Buildings. Thanks for the spotting DrWeevil
Hewman Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 (edited) I apologise if this is slightly off-topic but I've found some confirmed prices for the two new big city sets, the garage and hospital. I just thought more people would be interested here than in a City 2012 thread. Also I hope it's not old news. Garage $150 Hospital $90 Hospital Garage Edit: The Monster Fighters zombies set will be $70. I didn't bother with link as there are no pretty pictures up yet. Edited May 14, 2012 by hewman

Thanks for the spotting DrWeevil My pleasure, but I won't tell you how cheap I got it from Amazon last year :P It's a cute set, and looks great as part of a medieval display!
pjchilds Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 I'm looking for Diagon Alley... Any tips from players? (ie should I wait and hope amazon.fr does a special at some time?)
Hewman Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 (edited) I'm looking for Diagon Alley... Any tips from players? (ie should I wait and hope amazon.fr does a special at some time?) Hi pjchilds Welcome to Eurobricks. Try this thread, it's where all the discussion about buying from overseas takes place. This thread is for sales in Australia only, rather than those places that ship to Australia. Cheers Hewman Edited May 16, 2012 by hewman
lightningtiger Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 I've seen it still at some Target stores Yeah, tell me.....anyway I know that both Toy Corner and Galaxy Toys have Diagon Alley in stock.....only problem they are over 300 bucks at either store.
Turtle Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 According to my other half (who's a member on the essential baby forums), a woman who works at Target has mentioned that their big mid-year toy sale is going to be taking place in June this year - a full month earlier than normal. Apparently this information is known to employees of Target around the country. For further confirmation or denial, I'd advise you attack the sales persons in your local store for any info!
