I just received one of my May the 4th orders from S@H and it definitely came from Sydney. Not sure if it was a straight re-direct or if they assembled and shipped the order from there though.

I also just got my delivery with the very cool TC-14

To open or not to open that is the question?

Mine definitely came from Poland, took just on 2 weeks.

What shipping did they charge you? My order earlier in the year was about $170 and I was charged about $30 extra for delivery. Can't justify that if it goes through a Sydney DC. my last orr was a May 4th so delivery wasnt an issue.

The only orders I've done from S@H were part of the May the 4th promo with free shipping. I can't justify paying $25-$35 shipping on top of the already high RRP we get here in Aus. So I typically buy my lego from Amazon or other overseas sources or if its a really good deal from somewhere local like shopforme.

That's why I got two orders.....Open one and keep the other sealed

Big deal this week :sarcasm:....Kmart just has a few Marvel and Hero Factory sets on sale.

Any discount on the Hulk Helicarrier set?

The couple of times I've ordered stuff previously from S@H it's come from Singapore.

It could be that a lot depends on what you order (for example the Sydney warehouse may not have Shop@Home exclusives or themes not yet released in Australia but available at S@H in stock).

LEGO orders made on S@H outside the US, get shipped from Denmark, through Singapore, to the distribution warehouse in Sydney, then out to customers. The Sydney warehouse does not fulfil S@H orders they just receive incoming retail sets and then distribute them to stores.

Pjchilds...just to let you know I have seen the XXL box at K-Mart in the past and even picked up a box at a discounted price once...and yes it is a good box for basic building parts.

1600 bricks -- this looks like a semi-reasonable buy from S@H even with shipping ?

http://shop.lego.com/en-AU/LEGO-XXL-Box-5512

My maths says ~30 shipping (perhaps $35) ~ 6.9 - 7.1 cents/brick ... doesn't look bad against other sets/amazon's etc... on bang-per-brick?

Am i reading this wrong?

Kmart used to stock these, and they are great vaue for basic bricks. I have purchased many of them in the past.

They do - it's called Sydney. Pretty much all of their stuff comes via there.

It comes via Sydney, but from either Denmark or the Czech republic. The cost includes a private company in Sydney splitting up the bulk air freighted order and resending them I've been told. Very inefficient and costly. The Lego Australia office in Sydney don't have the warehouse facilities to store stock, part of the reason we're yet to get a LEGO brand store.

Yeah, and when the stuff gets passed on to Australia Post....it can disappear like my only ever S@H order and Lego then sent it again via DHL.

Hi beef

Thanks for the post and welcome to eurobricks. That's a bit disappointing about the joust as it'll be hard to find as a discount if it's an exclusive to them. I was guessing Target would get it. I wonder what exclusive that will leave for them. K-mart tend to get a Star Wars one, the VW was no surprise for Myer though.

I had guessed the joust would be Toyworld.....but LOTR is a cross the board release I've been told.....I'll check tomorrow with my old contacts.

Well, the Death Star is going to be just about at every independent Lego retailer....so now Helm's Deep was only 199 at Myer ? *oh2*

They just had their toy sale last month, the next major is in just under two months when Kmart, BigW and Target have their monster toy sales. So getting early....Myers, stranger things have happened in the past !

Wow - I didn't realise the LotR sets would be out so soon! Does anyone happen to know the Aussie RRP for Helm's Deep? $200 doesn't sound too bad really...

Shop for me also has it listed at $200 - not too bad for a 1300+ piece set and pretty reasonable if you can nab it at a 20%+ discount.

I spotted two LotR sets at Myer Adelaide. 9471 and 9472 for $60 and $90 respectively. This is a 100% mark up on US price for the first set and 50% for the second. I'm wondering if the first includes some Myer mark-up. However these prices do match those at shopforme. On sale, the 9472 wouldn't be too bad a price. There was no sign of the other LotR sets or the VW van there.

Heads up guys, My friend who works at Myer, said that they will be having a 'buy 2 get one free' sale this weekend, and that they are having their big mid year sale on the 21st of June. Sets on sale, include VW Van $129, Helms Deep $169, Malevolence $???, Tower Bridge $299. Sorry about the price of the Malevolence, I forgot it, but the Gungan Sub was in the catalog too, so I'm assuming they will have all the Star Wars sets there, and finally 20% off all LEGO, starting 21st of June.

Assuming an extra 10% off for Myer One holders then Helm's Deep will come down to just over $150...not quite as good as last year where the Queen Anne's Revenge could be had for c$135 but a bit better than a 20% off sale elsewhere. Also the extra 10% off usually works for all the Lego that's 20% off so this will probably be the best deal available to those looking for the new sets locally.

Thanks for the heads up, I might have to wander by my local Myer and check it out. I still have a $20 gift card to use... :classic:

Heads up guys, My friend who works at Myer, said that they will be having a 'buy 2 get one free' sale this weekend [...]

Just spoke to Myers TTP, Helm's Deep 199.99, Weathertop 89.99, Uruk-Hai Army 59.99....that's all I have been told they have stashed out the back !

The only sane thing to do in a situation like this is to buddy up with some fellow AFOLs, grab three copies of each set of interest and split the cost three ways (~$234 per person for all three sets) :classic:

My closest Myer is TTP (Adelaide), PM me if you're interested.
