Merlict Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Hey all, was sent a Toyworld promo code I don't need (www.mytoyworld.com.au) $10 off when you spend $100 - code is T4H7U2 . 99% sure it's one use only
jonwil Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 David Jones has the Star Wars advent calendar. MYER has Big Ben, Farnsworth house and the korean thing. Also dino and the dark green old-type airplane. Also plenty of the Friends riding camp, stables and horse trailer. 5his is Perth cbd btw.
ChrisW Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 TRU here in Sydney has Series 8 Minifigures.
Delta 38 Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) David Jones has the Star Wars advent calendar. MYER has Big Ben, Farnsworth house and the korean thing. Also dino and the dark green old-type airplane. Also plenty of the Friends riding camp, stables and horse trailer. 5his is Perth cbd btw. Is this the new one (9509)? I think I got the last Star Wars advent calendar early this year, so that seems a bit early. Edit: and does that mean Dino is no longer a Big W exclusive? Edited September 4, 2012 by Delta 38
LlamaLlamaLamp Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Edit: and does that mean Dino is no longer a Big W exclusive? Yep, it's definitely not exclusive anymore. They are advertised in targets latest catalogue. What are people's experience(s) with price matching? I really want to get the Mine (4204) while TRU have it for $99 but their stock in Perth seems to be nonexistent during this sale. Who are most likely to price match?
jonwil Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Who are most likely to price match? If Toys R Us has no stock, I doubt anyone will be willing to price match. Is this the new one (9509)? I think I got the last Star Wars advent calendar early this year, so that seems a bit early. Edit: and does that mean Dino is no longer a Big W exclusive? Definitely this years with the Darth Santa. As for it being too early, the same David Jones had their xmas section up and going (with MYER in the process of setting theirs up)
BrettBrick Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Try David Jones for a price match. I read Today in store that they will Price match other retailers and their online stores. So if you could get It from TRU online then DJs will match it.
ChrisW Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) Good news to all........has 20% off Lego for 1 week from the 6th of September. How early does Target's sale pricing kick in? ie. if I was to go in at 5.15pm Wednesday afternoon, would the 20% off discount apply yet, or does it begin once their clocks tick over onto Thursday? Also, fingers crossed they'll have Series 8 Minifigs now that I've spotted them at TRU, but they probably won't. EDIT: They didn't. And my local Target was generally understocked anyway. Luckily, David Jones did indeed price match the 20% deal (Big W previously refused to) and I picked up a Dino set. Edited September 7, 2012 by ChrisW
Paul B Technic Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Target Launceston have no Technic except 9394 plane. Myer Launceston have a few of 9393 tractor but that is it.
Brickmamba Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Hopefully by some miracle they have Series 8 in stock (its about the only 2012 set I am still waiting for, that and any Hobbit sets that show up :) In my humble opinion CMF Series 8 is nothing to fall head over heals for, the Hobbit set on the other hand is, can't wait
Godspeed Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I know it's Fishpond so fulfilment of orders might become an issue, but they have the ARC-170 fighter 8088 in stock here for $48.57 comes to ~20% off from the US MSRP and less than half price from AUS MSRP.

Despite the url, it is a NZ site. Regardless, I ordered this during the week only for it to be cancelled and unavailable. Do not hold your breath!
jamonlego Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 looks like toysrus have 20% off lego (excluding friends and minifigs) from 12 Sept http://www.lasoo.com.au/catalogue/toys-r-us-catalogue-we-ve-got-it/4rry7cdkc.html
LlamaLlamaLamp Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 If Toys R Us has no stock, I doubt anyone will be willing to price match. I went to Target in Bull Creek today and they price matched it immediately, all I had to do was show him the catalogue on my phone. Win!
RonanSai Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 (edited) FIshpond... free shipping is good always a chance they cancel the order though...^_^ Lord of the rings "HELms Deep" $129 http://www.fishpond.com.au/Toys/LEGO-Lord-of-Rings-Hobbit-Battle-of-Helms-Deep-LEGO/0673419167062 usually doesnt stay low for long. Darth Draks Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Every order I've placed with Fishpond has been cancelled and then a 2 week follow up to get my money back. Why people keep posting their deals online is beyond me.
Kent Productions Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 At Myer until Sunday the 16th spend $50 on toys can get a Star Wars Galaxy set Death Star, Naboo or Tatooine.
TeufelHund Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Although the Toys R US catalog says the 20% discount excludes minifigures, when I went today they had a 3 for $12 offer (which by my math works out to 20% off). They had a ton of series 8 plus some series 7 at my local.
Artanis I Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Although the Toys R US catalog says the 20% discount excludes minifigures, when I went today they had a 3 for $12 offer (which by my math works out to 20% off). They had a ton of series 8 plus some series 7 at my local. ...just like Target's 20% off Lego excluding Games, Friends & Ninjago this past week was pointless since they also had 20% off toys not otherwise already reduced, 20% off all Ninjago products (not just Lego) and 20% off all board games. Why not just say 20% off everything?!?
jonwil Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 (edited) I suspect that the 20% off LEGO excluding xyz and the 20% off stuff not already discounted have different start and finish dates. Finally found some Series 8 at the Toys R Us in Morley. Looking good (except for the fact that the torso for one of my DJs seems to have vanished between buying it and putting everything together :( ) Not the end of the world (as I did buy 2 DJs and the torso is not as useful in multiples as I thought it would be) Edited September 12, 2012 by jonwil
ChrisW Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Is there anywhere here in Aus that sells polybags? I don't think I've ever seen them anywhere, other than giveaways and promotions with purchase of other sets. I'd like to get my hands on one of those Monster Fighters ghost polybags.

I only ever found an Atlantis polybag in Toyworld, back in 2010, although it is highly unlikely that you'll find any of the Ghost polybags in stores. Your best bet is bricklink, as I did.

Your best bet is bricklink, as I did. Thanks Brickus, I think that's what I'll end up doing. When I used to work at Toyworld we had a couple more polybags given to us by Lego for use as giveaways during catalogue time, one I remember being this Toy Story one, but that's about it. Come to think of it, I miss Impulse sets too...

Polybags are market by TLG as promotional items, so they tend to turn up unexpectedly, if at all. As far as I know no Australian company regularly stocks them.
lightningtiger Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Is there anywhere here in Aus that sells polybags? Toy Corner gets poly bags from time to time, mainly the Star Wars ones....but sometimes City as well, though they do have the poly bag Hulk minifig for 49.99 - a bit pricey but where else are you going to find one in Oz eh ?
