Aussie BJ Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Ah, school holidays approach and the sales truly start............from the 4th of April - 20% off toys @ Target. (now to check Kmart and BigW ) Sadly I spent to much on ebay this weekend so the sales will have to wait, unless of course they have something I like. Purchased week 1 & week 2 Shell promo cars yesterday. I asked about the pitcrew and the lady said no it hasn't come out and they can only sell them in their particular week. I told her I lived pretty far away and don't get there that often and she said she would put a set aside for me to collect next time I'm in town. Fingers Crossed she comes through for me. Happy with the cars but didn't think I would be. They're pretty fast and crash really good.
Tazmaniac Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 The pit crew set from the Coles express promo was for one day only! They were handed out at the pumps by promo staff when you bought premium fuel, it was only for 5 hours in about ten stores Australia wide. They were free unlike the cars but with only 500 per chosen store they didn't go far. I was lucky to score a few but I was ever so charming. If you really want this set for free, you need to win it in the Twitter competition, you'll need all the cars to date to enter each week ( x amount of figure bags to give out each week) , then the final week one lucky punter scores a $1000 gift voucher and the minifigures. If you or any family members work for Coles/Myer, Shell, LEGO or Ferrari ten you can not enter. http://www.shell.com.au/products-services/on-the-road/fuels/lego-ferrari-model-collection/lego-minifigurines-twitter-competition.html
Inner Child Go! Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 On the 11th of April, Big W is having those town vehicles that are normally ~$28 on special for $23 each, like they did a couple of months ago. Also the city museum break in set will be $68.
Artanis I Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Galaxy Squad sets should appear in shops within the month if history truly does repeat itself regarding S@H appearances. 5 of the 6 first wave sets are finally available (not the Star Slicer), prices are $16, $30, $40, $70 & $100 compared to the US prices of $12, $20, $30, $60 & $80. Pretty freaking good price comparison, especially on the top 2 sets, shame I went ahead and got those ones online earlier...
frumpy Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Anyone know when Iron Man 3 sets will be released? May I think. Along with the new superman sets.

Wish me luck. Anyone got a date for Lone Ranger? Didn't know he was dating..... That review of the new train set looks pretty good.
Kye33 Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I'm on holidays at the moment at tallabudgera and I've raided as many shops as I,can looking for older lego stock! I hit gold at BigW burleigh! I found 7327, I scanned it and it was reduced to $38! I don't know how much it would of been full price, but was happy to see $38 on the screen! I went back and looked through the lego racks for more but there was none! Anyone else know where on the goldcoast you can find lego? Thanks

I don't know how much it would of been full price [...] Nice find! I believe that set retailed at $148, so good on you! You should post that in the Lucky LEGO Finds thread at http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=8156 as well
Cammy Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Wow Kye33, that's an amazing deal! I've been wanting that set for ages but they sold out of them at Tweed Heads, I was waiting for the one set they had to go on clearance but it sold before then.

Buy it now price on ebay is $149 plus delivery so you've done well. When we hit the Gold Coast we always go to Toys R Us at Pacific Fair. They have 1 huge wall that is always full of Lego. Robina Town centre is also a good spot with ALL the department stores a toy shop and another small little shop that sells a few lego sets. If you find any other treasure troves please us know. Brendan Wow Kye33, that's an amazing deal! You should of played hide and seek with a set or 2.
Cammy Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 You should of played hide and seek with a set or 2. Oh, I hid it as best I could whenever it made its way back to the shelf, but it was there for over two years and never went down in price.
Aussie BJ Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Oh, I hid it as best I could whenever it made its way back to the shelf, but it was there for over two years and never went down in price. bugger, I guess it's a lesson learnt then. If you really want it buy it then and there and don't worry next time you walk in and see it at 50% off. ARGHHHH done that before! Toy's R Us have a heap of lego on sale online BTW.
Rare White Ape Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 K-Mart has a sale on with a few TMNT sets and others a couple of bucks off.
Aussie BJ Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Spotted these Technic sets at Big W today F1 car 42000, Excavator Grabber thingo 42006, Backhoe 42004, Hover Craft 42002 all full RRP. Not much stock, country town probably. I also found 4 of these sitting next to a series 9 CMF retail box on the shelves in target today, I grabbed 2 but when I got to the checkout I realized they didn't have a barcode on them. I asked someone at the service desk if I could have them. She didn't know anything so had to phone head office. Apparently a Promo Poly Bag with a Wii U game 'City Undercover' coming out soon. Someone from the CD/DVD desk had opened a box found them in there and thought they were doing the right thing and placed them in the with the retail Lego. Thought she might of at least given me 1 but sadly no.
KartoffelViking Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I also found 4 of these sitting next to a series 9 CMF retail box on the shelves in target today, [...] I found a single one of these on the LEGO shelves at Target Newton (Adelaide) on Saturday, and in my case they were kind enough to give it to me.
Aussie BJ Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I found a single one of these on the LEGO shelves at Target Newton (Adelaide) on Saturday, and in my case they were kind enough to give it to me. I mean common it only 4 pieces in the poly bag and it was a giveaway item anyway shesh! I've probably spent 1K there this year and I still don't get a pre-launch freebie damn you Target! LOL! On another note, I picked up week 3 Ferrari Truck today (I know, but I only go out on Sundays). It's okay, but looks a little unfinished to me. Also grabbed another F1 due to not knowing they had 2 drivers now I have the set thanks Shell another $6 bucks.
Darth Malgus Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I also found 4 of these sitting next to a series 9 CMF retail box on the shelves in target today Such a shame that we don't get anywhere the amount of Polybags that they do OS!
jonwil Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Given that Iron Man 3 the movie opens on the 24th of April, I would have thought LEGO, Marvel and the retailers would want to have the tie-in toys on the shelves before it opens. Then again, licensed product that comes out weeks after the movie is already in theaters isn't exactly unheard of...
Darth Malgus Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I always think it would make more sense to have it out beforehand, builds anticipation...
TeufelHund Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I always think it would make more sense to have it out beforehand, builds anticipation... Also people are more likely to buy sets prior to seeing a crappy movie than afterwards...
Rare White Ape Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 If anyone's interested in the Shuttle Expedition set, my local K-Mart (Southport, Gold Coast) had none on the shelf when I looked on the weekend. If you want to buy one, I suggest you don't wait for a sale and get one ASAP. They might have more coming, then again they probably don't. Either way, it is not worth missing out on.

Have to try and win another few sets for my sons now.
