Chirnside Park's Kmart has all the Galaxy Squad sets except for the Star Slicer. As far as prices go, the Space Swarmer is 15.99, Swarm Interceptor was 29.99(?), Warp Stinger is 39.99, Vermin Vaporizer is 79.99 and the Bug Obilitorator was 99.99. Unfortunately I could not purchase it at this time, just thought I would point it out.

This is the fine print on the Free Delivery offer at Shop@Home at the moment, with a $100 purchase:

Free standard delivery offer is valid from 9 April to 31 August 2013 .

Shop@Home is now saying that the free delivery applies to orders that reach $150. :hmpf_bad:

My local Mr Toys had the galaxy squad sets today!

I might have to have a look at myer, I know carindale doesn't have any older sets I'm after, but if I drive down the loganhome Myers they have some older kingdom sets!

I bought some lego off gumtree today, arrived at one of the houses to find a garage full of lego, it was like lego heaven! She offered to sell a huge bulk lot so I couldn't resist! Got trains, lots of city sets, garage 7642, lots of roads and mats, plus so much more and all in perfect condition! She has more to sell, lots of starwars, I didn't get it because I'm not into the Star Wars sets! So check gumtree in brisbane region in the next couple of weeks! She even gave me the containers they were in and a plastic draws set on wheels!

There are 2 shuttle expeditions at kmart capalaba!

I just did abit of ringing around to see if any Myers have what I am after, but it kind of turns out that it is cheaper to just buy them at target or mr toys! Unless you are going to buy 3 big sets that are over $100! Myer prices are about $10 to $30 more expensive on the sets I am after!

I bought a tower bridge off gumtree for $200 including post and town hall for $190 including post so I have abit of building to do this week! I am making my town hall I already have 2 levels higher and will try to think what else I can do with the rest!

So I've made the (very expensive) decision to get into the Modular Building series. They never really interested me, since I found each set individually unimpressive but now TLC's accrued quite a nice looking collection and I've recently redone my study and have a long, bare shelf space that would be perfect for a nice row of these.

I've begun to make a little list of each of these sets and do some price comparisons between the various etailers. It seems that S@H is the cheapest in most of these cases (especially with that free shipping on $100+ orders). I've given up on trying to purchase Cafe Corner (10182) and Green Grocer (10185) as these were released in about 2007 and 2008 and the resale price for these make my eyes bleed. I have a couple of high value sets like the UCS Falcon that might be sold to pay for these, but it would be a sore loss.

So I'd like some advice from Aussie collectors who have been into the Modular theme. What is the best place to start? Are these sets available at retail? (I've never paid attention to these, so no idea) and if so, do they have the typical UCS exclusivity between the various stores? What is the cheapest way to start, are there foreign online stores like Amazon UK that you could recommend? Thanks in advance.

Most of the time these sets are only available at David Jones... and rarely discounted. The Fire Station is still available at Toyworld etc. As far as foreign online options, the "other" thread would have info except that the increasing postage charges and introduction of arbitrary "not available to your country" have made it less of a possibility. So S@H is the best option for many, DJs for others.

I've recently jumped into Modulars also. DJs at 20% off isn't too bad and they are basically the only store who has them bar specialty Lego stores (which are often RRP as well).

Best bet - and I know we're all about Aussie Sales tips - but Amazon France is by far the cheapest option. Check out the overseas thread in this forum.

DJ's recently had 20% off but I'm unsure if its still going!

I have bought all on my modulars on gumtree or ebay brand new! A seller in Sydney called Dita is selling the petshop for $180! I have bought heaps of Legomfrom him and can recommend buying from him!

There is a lego expo coming up in June in Brisbane and I'm thinking of doing a display! It is going to be run by Brick events!

I'd say if you're in no real rush, and are willing to fork out chunks of dough at a time, go on bricklink, find a seller with a few that you want and get it shipped in, it tends to work out cheaper than trying to get it here, even on sale. (did for me anyway)

I think there are 20 tables available and they are paying $150 to do a display! I think it would be fun to hang out with other AFOL for a couple of days!

Dudette :p

Kye33 and EvMan, and everybody else in SE Queensland region

I'm one of the organisers for that show, we're working on the flyers etc at the moment. Once they're done, I'll be putting an ad in the Lego Events thread on here with all the details, in the meantime, we're also on Facebook.

The local Lego specialty store Bricks N Fun (at Capalaba) will be there too with a large range of products to buy.

Ightly off-topic, but will BrisBricks also happen later in the year?

Kristel, that's a different group of people, we aren't involved with them, though many of our members were last year.

Hello Kristel,

Following the success of the BrisBricks Expo in 2012, BrisBricks Inc will be presenting two Expos this year.

The first will be at Strathpine in Pine Rivers on the weekend of 15, 16th June.

The major Expo will be on the 5, 6 and 7th October at the arena at the Sleeman Centre at Chandler.

At both events there will be a large range of retailers; local and from interstate.

I wish Perth had a LEGO event, Canberra gets one even though its smaller than Perth.

I guess the distance is a big factor in that unlike Canberra, it would be harder to get the interstate visitors to come to WA for a show.

I bought the full range from amazon.fr, as soon as they had a decent discount. the boxes come in varying degrees of damage but this did not bother me as I'm going to open and build them. I recently bought the fire brigade delivered $AUD 180

I think I'll buy the palace cinema from S@H with the free shipping it's only $20 more than what I might pay for it on amazon.fr
