Picked up the Star Wars Battle of Hoth at TRU chadstone in Vic for $69.99 set no. 75014. Pretty happy with it.

Did they have either of the other two exclusives? I was thinking about ordering some direct from Lego in the May 4 sale but might hold off if they can be found at a retailer that discounts reasonably frequently..

Which Target was this? :) Checked mine today and no such luck :(

I checked with three SA stores....no luck, must be in the eastern states.......I also believe the 20% off finishes Wednesday night.

Black Zero Escape in the local Target. $39, $31.20 on sale.

Got the wife on duty today to see if our local target has them.

So, local target has the superman set but LEGO isn't one of the toy brands on sale :(

Hmm, I went to my Target yesterday and I got the discount. Although Lego isn't included as one of the brands, I think it should still work.

At any rate, I recall a sign that just said "20% off toys" in front of the Lego section and that was applied to my purchase.

On another note, do we know if the Arkham Asylum set (10937) is going to be available in stores?

Items scanned at full price and when my wife asked they said lego wasn't on sale.

Maybe it was an error on Target's part, because the receipt didn't show that they were discounted and they might have just applied it accidentally anyway. Oh well...

If the sign said "20% off toys" and didn't say "excludes LEGO" or "exclusions apply" or something like that not offering the discount is false-and-misleading-advertizing and is (I believe) illegal.

Signs at Target today read something like this, " 20% off selected range of toys".

It then shows icons for the selected brands; LEGO is not pictured.

Kmart have put Hobbit sets on clearance. Seem pretty cheap (sorry I didn't take all the details down). I think Bag End one was $69.

What are my chances of getting the Pirates of the Carribbean Black Pearl set out in the wild?

eBay seems pricey, and there some POTC sets still on the shelf at Toys r Us.

Any ideas?

I'd say slim to none on Australian Shelves - I only saw a few copies here at Toyworld and Myers at the tail end of 2011.

Some Amazon sites in Europe still have it listed so you might see if they'll deliver here if the EBay/Bricklink prices are too much.

$69 already? Wow. I will have to get it! Thanks

Toys R US have 20% off Star Wars Lego until 14/5. Probably good if you're looking to pick up their exclusives including the Battle of Hoth which they now seem to have in stock in some stores.

If you're interested in Lego Lone Ranger here are the local prices. There are some awful rip offs here so even with discounts you may be better waiting for clearances or ordering overseas:

Cavalry Builder (US$12.99/AU$22.99)

Comanche Camp (US$19.99/AU$39.99)

Stagecoach Escape (US$29.99/AU$69.99)

Colby City Shootout (US$49.99/AU$89.99)

Silver MIne Showdown ($US69.99/AU$119.99)

Constiution Train Chase (US$99.99/AU$139.99)

Finally it seems the AU price for Orthanc will be $279.99. I guess that's not too unreasonable as you'll get free shipping and a fair few VIP points with it (US$ price is 199.99)

T he discontinued 9472 LOTR Battle for Weathertop if $49 at K-Mart. The AU S@H still has it listed but it is retired in the US section. They also had the Moria set for $69, Mirkwood set for $35, Attack of the Wargs for $59, Riddles in the Dark $15 and Galdalf Arrives $15and th, Attack of the They also had the Moria

That's my guess. Hope I'm right at the worst.

I have heard disappointment from EU buyers at the "mark-up" (vs US price) on Lone Ranger sets in Europe (particularly the Stagecoach Escape), so my conclusion is that the US prices are hideously artificially low to try to generate decent sales in NA, particularly of that set. I imagine TLG has a LOT of competition for this line there.

My search last night did not uncover that set, I could do with another at that price (nearly half price!)... I found all the rest though. :sadnew:

I can live with that, my VIP points total will be massive by the end of the year.
