Finally some new sets in Myer Sydney, 3 Star wars, the AT-TE, the Spider Droid and the Duel on Geonosis (only 1 of those left since I grabbed one). Also saw the Coast Guard boat and the F1 truck

Went to Toys R Us at Lunchtime and picked up a Sail Barge at 20% off. They had some strange pricing for some of the other SW sets - the Rublic Gunship was ticketed at $159.99 - a pretty good deal if you take an extra 20% off but the smallest Tank Droid set was marked at $55.99 - a rotten deal even with 20% off. :hmpf_bad:

I didn't scan either item as I was in a hurry but I guess worth checking out if you're after the gunship.

Yesterday my local Myer had all new Friends, City, Chima, Duplo, and Star Wars sets minus the exclusives and Planet sets. Got all Star Wars, and HF build Chima, at 20% off because the sales assistant matched TRU.

Here's a sale for you...

Change Shop@Home region to United States.

Order DeLorean for $34.99 and Hayabusa for $49.99 (which isn't available to Australia, unless you pay $70 on Bricklink). Oh, and pay sales tax of $7.65 for California. In AU dollars that's $103.51.

Send to Shipito address and have it forwarded to me for about US$55, I would expect.

That $69.99 price for the DeLorean in Australia is a bit too much to swallow, I think.

Don't quite understand how its better, on top of the 103.51 you still have to pay shipito about AUD61, thats aud164 for only 2 sets... Wouldn't the DeLorean come to AUD62 when you halve the shipping cost? not much of a saving enough for me to use a drop shipper

...am I missing something??

Ok, so the kids and I had a bit of a look at Marion SA yesterday:

Kmart and BigW:

  • Coast guard chopper $35
  • Monster truck transport $35
  • Formula 1 transport $35
  • Cargo truck $35

Target:

  • Tilt-rotor cargo transport $59
  • Most (if not all) of the new Star Wars at what looked like RRP

Myer:

  • Some of the new city sets at RRP
  • Most (if not all) of the new Star Wars at what looked like RRP
  • Star Wars Republic Gunship at $159 instead of the $179 RRP.

I hope that helps saves someone a trip. Forgive me if I get a name wrong here, but during my travels I saw Jabba's Sail Barge, the Gunship, AT-TE, Yoda vs Dooku fight, black starfighter, and I'm pretty sure some of the smaller droid ships.

It's the first time in a while I've looked across the Star Wars section of a Lego shelf and thought "cool, I reckon I'd like to get a few of those". I'm definitely more interested in the models though, so it might be time to start looking into a way of selling off the minifigs from sets (the kids already have plenty of little Star Wars figs to play with) to help fund the models...

Slow shipping (I seriously don't mind waiting 4 weeks) is only US$22.50 or something. Add-in the Shipito handling fee and that's $130 for two sets.

Bear in mind that I also purchased the Hayabusa, which is not available to Australia on Shop@home. That alone would be $70 + shipping for the set on Bricklink and the cheapest I have found on eBay is $90 incl. shipping.

The biggest thing is I am not paying $70 for a Lego DeLorean. That can take a long trip up the backside of a buffalo. Yes, the added shipping cost eats up a lot of the money I save, but.... Not paying $70 for a Lego DeLorean.

After the so-so mid-year toy sales........Target are promoting 20 new Lego sets, but only listing a few specials -

Coast Guard Copter $ 33.....well that's only 2 bucks less than Kmart.

Monster Truck Transporter $ 33.....ditto.

Cargo Heli-plane $ 49......not even 20% off.....but any thing is better than nothing right ?

More of the Friend's sets are being promoted like the high school for 59 and pleasure boat for 89.......I wonder if the other city plus Star Wars sets that are new will be reduced.....this is my birthday week.

With all your Lego purchases, I thought every week was your birthday week

Ha ha, I guess I get 'birthday week' next week :cry_happy:

Hopefully enough money for a delorean and black gate

Doesn't everyone wish it was their birthday everyday minus the fact of getting older ?

Except if you're getting Lego, there is no such thing as getting older.

Back on topic-ish, does anyone have access to the S@H promotion calendar for Australia? (Is that something you get with Lego Club membership?) What I want to know is the Aus specific details for the upcoming SW polybag giveaway for next month. It is reported that you have to spend $50 on SW Lego for USA.

I'm betting the conversion would be you have to spend $75 or $100 here in Oz. Lego Club membership has nothing to do with purchases at S@H if any thing it may be a VIP promo like the hotdog stand was.

I think Artanis was asking if the info is provided through Lego Club magazine. The short answer is no.

I think these are based on store calendars and seeing we have zero stores here, we aren't privy to such Australian specific information, although TanTile is probably on the money that it will be available for us, just at a higher minimum purchase, but I'd assume it'll still be under the threshold needed for free delivery.

Those were the 2 numbers I figured most likely.

Yes that was my question, thanks.

I'm curious as to what our value will be, because it said "Star Wars purchases" and although I could easily find $150 of Lego for the free delivery, $100 of full price SW Lego could be a stretch.

My bad... I totally read that all wrong.

Is there anyone who placed an order on the first for 41999, and still, have not yet received shipping confirmation?

Still "in process"

A reply email from Lego customer service told me that means its ready to be packed at the warehouse and will be delivered within the quoted 13 business day timeframe.
