Siegfried Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Is anyone planning to motorise their 10194? I can't say I am tempted at this stage. At these prices I'm more likely to use the 'hand of God' and make choo-choo noises Not in the short term. Looking at what you need; #8878 – Power Functions Rechargeable Battery Box Overpriced! #8879 – Power Functions IR Speed Remote Control #8882 – Power Functions XL Motor Got it! #8884 – Power Functions IR RX Go it! #8887 – Power Functions Transformer 10VDC Overpriced! I bet the remote and the battery will end up in a non-train set, and I'll get it that way. If need be I can make a carridge for the old battery box and use my existing parts... or I can turn a RC motor into a carridge. Besides, due to room reasons I've given up on a train layout anyway so it'll be choo-choo for me too! (I'm nervously waiting to see if my Volcano Base goes though...) Still no track or train motor. Isn't the motor for the old system?
bright22 Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 just let you know some sets are having some discounts in Myer nowadays like Construction Site 4WD drive there should be about 20% off but I don't think they get a BIG discount.
Izzy Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 My local KMART has (3 of) the Troll Warship 7048 for 88.00 and it is 15% off on top of that.... making is 74.80 (??? you do the maths, hehe) and on the Lego S@H it is 99.99 then 30 bucks in postage. Has anyone done a review on said product?
Siegfried Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 (I'm nervously waiting to see if my Volcano Base goes though...) ...and it's been sent! Has anyone done a review on said product? Here's are some...
I Scream Clone Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 For anyone who sorely missed out on the Twilight, it is back in stock however it is full price $149
Darth_Legois Posted April 12, 2009 Author Posted April 12, 2009 (edited) Damn why couldn't it be target. You mean the Twilight? I dont think it was ever at Target, only TRU & S@H...... Also Kmart has another 15% Off Toys Sale [saw it on TV] starting Monday the 13th. [Tomorrow] Edited April 12, 2009 by Darth_Legois
I Scream Clone Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 At where?. Sorry, I should have said S@H, Our local TRU has a few as well, can't see them selling at retail from TRU either. Also Kmart has another 15% Off Toys Sale [saw it on TV] starting Monday the 13th. [Tomorrow][/color] Nice one, will have to compare prices with Target for RGS
DarthSion Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Ah well i only started buying lego after TFU was released, so i didn't know where it was sold. Yeah but TRU are lame, they don't lay-by.
keetong Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 I was hoping Target would keep their anual 15% of sale until the Pirates came, then I would just have to pick it all up at once.
natelite Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 crap. nz S@H is listing some crazy deals... townplan, cafe corner, and agent's deep sea mission. still waiting for a mispricing for au's S@H but so far nothing.
Svelte Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 crap. nz S@H is listing some crazy deals... townplan, cafe corner, and agent's deep sea mission. still waiting for a mispricing for au's S@H but so far nothing. I know, it's been like that for a week. $122 Aus for a Cafe Corner! The Lego gods are taunting us. I was in Myer City yesterday and saw a giant brick built Glaciator display for the Power Miners section. It had a soft foam hammer which people were talking from its hands and whacking it with! Hilarious.
TheDarkness Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Are they ever. I hate seeing such great discounts internationally knowing that if the order was big enough they would nearly all be shipped from Europe anyway I know, it's been like that for a week. $122 Aus for a Cafe Corner! The Lego gods are taunting us.
DarthSion Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Im guessing by the complaining then you cant order from S@H NZ?. NO never used S@H, shipping is too long and a expensive.
TheDarkness Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Correct. It comes up as an error, saying when you go to process it that you cannot change an address country other than the S@H location. I'm happy to use S@H if I make a decent size purchase, and really, if you get a $250 set for $125 +40 freight, it still is a fair discount Im guessing by the complaining then you cant order from S@H NZ?.NO never used S@H, shipping is too long and a expensive.
I Scream Clone Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 S@H is ideal for bulk purchasing, especially when you are after rare or on sale sets. If your order hits $800 you get upgraded to express shipping which is only 3-5 days usually. Once you order over say 300-400 worth $45 is a bargain for the amount ordered. If you were to buy one set off eBay US for example, postage is usually about $70 AUS. Otherwise, buying the odd set at a time is definitely a better option to go local and save time and money.
DarthSion Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Thats stupid, it all comes from Denmark so why not sell everywhere.
Darth_Legois Posted April 15, 2009 Author Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) Today me & my friend went to Moore Educational in Brisbane CBD. They only had the Obi wan, Vader & Chewie Magnet set [And Spongebob but no one likes spongebob except... ISC.... ] and the Castle BP.....Im kicking myself for not geting the Castle BP...but spent $19 on 3 figures from the Community workers set....... [They came with an accessory each] But yeah... They were in a Jar [full of them] they also had some keychains including Brickbeard for $9.90 ea. And the VW & Sandcrawler [sandcrawler $299 I think] + Some of the bigger newer sets. Nothing really special. Also I asked the checkout chick she said she didn't have any other types of Magnet sets. Edited April 15, 2009 by Darth_Legois
brickfreak99 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I wnet to Myer the other day, they had a massive display of LEGO City, but only 4 items were discounted.

Nope, They sell other LEGO too [Although they have ALOT of duplo] they also had a whole shelf with bigger newer sets [although they where the RRP] but the Educational sets are REALLY expensive.
