I Scream Clone Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 As I have noticed before the months mentioned for release are the months when sets are considered available at all retailers (fully stocked around the country) This doesn't stop us seeing the sets earlier if we are lucky as places like Big W pay for the exclusive sales rights over other shops. So maybe we will still see some goodies early after all. I am very excited about seeing exclusives available in retail chains especially the Medieval Market Village set, a set like this should be available to the masses! What is the deal with the Toyworld Exclusive Endor, they must have paid TLC a lot to get this exclusively! My local Toyworld is such a small dive that I can't even see them getting it in, let alone paying the $200 retail. I shall seek other avenues like eBay for this.
DarthSion Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Hay guys do any of the shops here sell the magnets?, i so want the new chrome stormtrooper if we get it. Whats the average shipping times?.
MinifigHQ Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) Nothing exclusive for Big W? Apparently they do... Any one notice of all the new sets being made available as exclusives to retailers that one is missing ? Edited June 9, 2009 by MinifigHQ
I Scream Clone Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Apparently they do...Any one notice of all the new sets being made available as exclusives to retailers that one is missing ? Oooohhhh very cryptic! Well the Emerald Express may be the winner there. Lets not forget the Carousel, Christmas village, Rebel Blockade Runner, and new Modular house (who knows when). These could still be hitting our shores later this year too.
MicroM Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Great news that some of the Shop@Home exclusives will now be at retail. The news of Endor being Toyworld only is a shame to be honest. If Ahsoka's fighter is any gauge we'll be paying $210 - $220 for it. And as good a kit as it is, that will be hard to justify. Actually one thing that strikes me flicking through the LEGO catalogue is how many exclusives there are. Just seems odd that LEGO make these kits then only release them in selected retailers. And in Brisbane we don't have an abundance of Toyworld's and Toys R us are even rarer. Anyway let's hope for 15-20% off the dropship in the July sales.
Darth_Legois Posted June 9, 2009 Author Posted June 9, 2009 Hay guys do any of the shops here sell the magnets?, i so want the new chrome stormtrooper if we get it. Only one would be the LEGO Educational Centres (In Melbourne & Brisbane) although they dont have many. (only the obi wan, chewy & vader for SW and the castle BP, spongebob magnets)
Svelte Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 TRU has some catalogue offers on Lego. Nothing too exciting, but you do get a free CW Obi-Wan keychain and Lego club membership if you spend over $60. Boulder Blaster is 20% off to $39.99. "HUGE VALUE" for the Separatist Spider Droid at $49.99
MicroM Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Boulder Blaster is 20% off to $39.99. Thanks for the heads up on the Boulder Blaster, I like this kit, and at $40 that's more reasonable. I haven't seen any SSD's for some time, wonder if they've got some more in, though I really detest the way TrU label their prices as "Great value" / "Hot price" - they are bordering on deceptive.
I Scream Clone Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 snip I really detest the way TrU label their prices as "Great value" / "Hot price" - they are bordering on deceptive. My thoughts exactly! Should really complain about that to TRU or the ombudsmen etc.
hollisbrick Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Don't worry, the Big W catalogue will be out soon, and then we shall see if the piates are there. I have a good feeling they are though
sammyboy Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Hi guys, Spoke to the TLC today, and the Grand Carousel (10196) will be hitting stores in August, and will be retailing for $299.99 I don't know about you, but that seems fairly cheap compared to what I was expecting. Cheers...
Darth_Legois Posted June 10, 2009 Author Posted June 10, 2009 Don't worry, the Big W catalogue will be out soon, and then we shall see if the piates are there. I have a good feeling they are though *Points at latest LEGO magazine* but it says December! Luckily im getting a job in August (hopefully) then i'll have more $$ to spend on all the new LEGO coming out!
Svelte Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Spoke to the TLC today, and the Grand Carousel (10196) will be hitting stores in August, and will be retailing for $299.99 Stores? As in retail stores here? Did they say which one? $299.99 is better than the Dropship price, which is what the equivalent price in UK pounds and US dollars works out to.
DarthSion Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 My sister went into target today, she said they having a big sale in July, she also said when she worked at target and they had that big toy sale they often did layby till Xmas where you had till Xmas to pay. Do they still do that?, id be able to get the AT-OT or Deathstar if they do. Off topic, but does anyone in the mind say near death star when every they say death star.
Svelte Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Do they still do that?, id be able to get the AT-OT or Deathstar if they do. I think they all do. K-Mart, Big W, Target and Myer do anyway. Not sure about DJs. It's one of the big selling points of the July sales - buy now, you've got 6 months to pay it off. You can also do normal layby during the Toy Sale too if you do want something sooner. Uh, no I don't think 'near death star' but now I probably will!

Uh, no I don't think 'near death star' but now I probably will! Kool, but theres no way ii could pay off that kind of money, even with 15% a death star is still 510. Near death star, its from futurama.

Did they say which one?$299.99 is better than the Dropship price, which is what the equivalent price in UK pounds and US dollars works out to. Didnt specify which store - I just asked when it was coming out, and RRP. And she replied August (along with the other Creator sets) and that the RRP for $299.99! Geez, I am going to be poor this year!! :)
jonwil Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Does anyone have any information or rumors on the actual release date (not what the catalog says) for any of the following in any shop: City Corner Indiana Jones Cemetery Battle Creator Family Home Space Police impulses K-9 bot & Space Speeder These are the 4 sets that are on my "must buy" list, if they arent going to come to our neck of the woods anytime soon, I may have to go ahead and do a Shop @ Home order to get me some (i.e. City Corner)
