pagewood had zip!

i hope they're not dividing stock amongst stores, i hate that.

More likely that people saw the new sets and bought without knowing about upcoming sales.

K-Mart have 3 Death Stars in so I shouldn't miss out. Looks like Thursday is going to be very expensive for me

Um if your laybying you just go to the layby stand and order it, no need to pick it up.

But remember Kmart doesnt have no deposit layby its only BigW.

As the sale runs for 2 weeks, one assumes they will let your just order it, then order in more as needed, other wise if it runs for 2 weeks there will be allot of disappointed shoppers and miss out on allot of money.

Is it a No Raincheck item? K-Mart here care little for customer service, as options in town are limited. Target has only just been here to create some form of competition, but they are no match with Lego that's for sure

target and kmart are part of the same corp. kinda doubt there is any "real" competition. the real competition is between bigw and kmart. myer and dj. :

I know they are the same corporation. But see here, K-Mart was the only retail outlet for 20 years. They didn't give two hoots about customer service, as simply there was nowhere else to go. When Target opened, everyone went there, so they had to try and lift their socks as the place was like a ghost town. Since then, K-Mart has totally revamped the store and put in all new (and more efficient) checkouts and machines. I don't believe in coincidences :p

I haven't had any reason to deal with their staff of late, but last time I did, they told me they only got in 2 RGS, and didn't have access to getting any more in as they got their allocation. 8 weeks later, I saw one on the shelf, despite the fact I gave them my name and number anyway and they put it on raincheck. 3 months later, they called me saying they had one in stock. I was glad I bought a couple at much cheaper prices on ebay.

So for our dinky little town of 28,000 people, it is real competition, especially how much money is spent from the outlying communities here.

K-Mart has a weird new system this year with laybys. Some stuff is marked in the catalogue with a tree icon and says it's a 'Xmas layby'. Fpr these items, you don't need to take it to the layby counter but can order it from there, as DarthSion says. However this type of Xmas layby is only available for pickup from December 1, so they have plenty of time to source exactly as many Death Stars and AT-OTs as they need.

It's a clever solution as it means that they don't have to guesstimate how sales will go (like with limited stock for the Falcon last year, they probably had no clue how many $750 sets they would shift) and nobody misses out.

If you want it sooner, you can choose the regular 8 week layby.

If you're worried and in a small town, I'd just ask the manager what the deal is with sourcing the extras.

Thanks for that info, it looks like I might get a Death Star after all, and 5 months to pay is fine by me seeing I just spent big on a new tv this weekend. For anyone in SA, no Death Stars on the shelf at K-mart Firle, but lots of AT-OTs, but hopefully this order lay-by thing is fine, as the Death Star is listed with the little Christmas tree logo next to it.

Lego S@H Sales page has updated with some new items. Nothing much of interest, apart from a few of the smaller Indy sets discounted.

I wish they had something a little more useful than just the indy sets on sale. One of the indy sets was already at Check product availability when it went on sale... lol

Spotted some new Racers in the Toyworld in Subiaco earlier today, specifically the yellow Lamborghini and that new racers set that has 2 of the fold-out track pieces. No sign of anything else new in that store (still had stock of the Market Street though)

Nothing new in the Big W I went to either (no sign of any Space Police here in the west yet)

Medieval Market Village is at Target, my local store has had there's out for about a week now $149.99. And hopefully it will be cheaper at there Toy Sale next month.

Edit: At Target's price of $149.99 you will save $30 buying from Target rather than ebay (ebay price around $180) and No postage cost either :classic:

WOW! Temple of doom only $129! I was expecting at least $150 ^^. Kinda makes up for the horribly overpriced endor...

I was sure it would be $150 too. To compare, the Crystal Skull temple set was $US79.99, and 7199 is $US89.99. So for $10 more US, we're paying $20 less Australian  On sale, you could probably get it for around $100 when it hits stores here which is a fair price. It's a bit sparse as a set, to be honest.

Let's hope they don't jack up the price in a day or two, like they did with the Agents Mobile Command Centre.

Indy continues to be relative good value with the battle pack and the Venice Chase set. The planes chase one is too much at $90.

It seems that different people price sets at different times. Look at the new Star Wars magnet set with battle damaged Darth Vader - $20.79 or some odd conversion price whereas the other ones were all $AUD16.99.

$299.99 is an extraordinary price for the Carousel and makes it much more tempting...

Incidentally, Home One was listed on some NZ site as $NZ190 which bodes well for a $150AUD price tag. Fingers crossed! It is a great set, much better than it looks in the pics.
