That is a very good price for the carousel. That'd be fantastic if the Home One is $150.

Just been into Toys 'r' Us Adelaide and there are still masses of Twilights for sale at the reduced $95.99 (I think), might make a good bley pack for MOCers, probably not the best set to buy as an investment given the lack of unique minifigs though.

I still haven't noticed any of the new Pirates or the MMV turn up at Targets in Adelaide, wouldn't that be nice if they actually waited to put them on the shelves at sales time. Previously here, Spongebob sets have usually sold out before the sales start (I think similar things occurred in Sydney, that someone (maybe ISC) mentioned).

I don't really like chrome finish - it wears off too easily.

On a keychain seems especially pointless since if you actually use it in your pockets, it is subject to even more wear and tear.

One for the chrome fetishists and obsessive keyring collectors only!

On the upside, if you sell it on ebay at least you can make some money back on shipping.

I would have preferred just an ordinary chrome fig, at least you could use it as a statue in town layouts, for example.

Huh, what do you guys think of the gold mini figure, looks ok, but flesh hands look horrible.

I think I'd like it a lot more if it was an actual minifig. It's certainly not going to get me to place an order. It was for sale for Aus S@H, rather than just a bonus, not sure if this is still the case. The same thing occurs with the silver stormtrooper with the uncoated hands which is a litle disappointing but I guess there's a good chance of flaking if you put a weapon in there.

But hey, if you're placing an order, it's a nice little bonus.

Nay, it isn't on sale any more. The price has dropped from 8.30 to 6.99 but you can't add it to your cart!

Ha, i cant afford the 10% deposit for the DS yet alone 120.

I just got to ask with the ah oh lets say negativity about chrome stuff, am i the only one in the world who builds and keeps it and doesn't use it as a toy.

My chrome Vader is in perfect condition, in the bag it came in in a lunchbox.

Wow That is an amazing price for the Carousel!

$249 US to $299 AUS, I like that kind of conversion.

The only thing is it makes the price of The Death Star even more of a joke than it already is. How can LEGO justify that?

Great forum here by the way, thanks for all the info on the sales.

Cheers

Well I was all excited by that offer... until I saw that it was a keyring. I currently use a Rock Monster keyring and he's pretty scuffed up already! Since he's a monster it still looks OK, but chrome fig will look bad in short time. As svelte said; a fig would have been better. I like the chrome figs ordinarily... and I love my Darth! :sweet:

I think most people will agree that the chrome looks beautiful, and personally I'll be snapping up a stormtrooper for display purposes when they come out in Aus, I'll use one of my stands from those old star wars minifig packs. As for 3PO, it looks so good and movie accurate that I'd be too tempted to play with it and I think it'd possibly get damaged.

Chrome does have its limitations, but the wow factor makes up for it, particularly when reasonably priced.

Hmmm, I'm straying off-topic here. US price is $9.99 for stormie so let's hope it's $14.99 for Aus.

I also got the Rock Monster keychain and after about 2 days the paint was gone where the sharp lines were.

Hay guys, if someone just wanted a cheap set, with um, what's his name Sean Connery from Indi 3, what's a good set to get.

Edit, S@H has mid scale MF for 60.

But still, if your worried about chrome flakes, why not just leave it safe and not play with it.

But it's useless then! I don't collect LEGO to leave in it's box/bag, I collect LEGO to use or display. Since I have no interest in starting a keyring collection for display purposes (to me it'd be like displaying LEGO housewares!) that means that I'd be a waste unless I used it.

Yeah me too, but he's still cute! Since he's partially transparent exposed from the start it doesn't bother me too much.

Dr Henry Jones comes in the bike set, and he's in 7198: Fighter Plane Attack. The cheapest will probably be the newer set.

I see, personally id rather one and a box then nothing.

To me LEGO in a box that you'll never open is nothing! I don't buy anything with the intention to resell so if I'm not planning on opening it I don't buy it!

Exactly. Why spend so much money on a set you're not even going to open?

EDIT: fixed a typo

So particular. Box, display case, whatever. Remember this is a sales thread, not a box rant.

Sinner Siegfried, why is it that your avatar changes every two seconds?

It changes roughly 4 times a day because I wrote a program to do it for me. Why? Cos I couldn't pick just one!

Target "sneak peek" catalogue now online

Page 45

Target Sneak Peek

Looking through the pages and noticing the red circle it would appear that The Star Wars Magna Droid Fighter will be the half price item this year.

Aussie S@H now updated with the rest of the Summer & Creator sets

$59.99 Pirate Tank

$179.99 Home One

The pricing fairies are at work again! Home One is 130EURO and Endor 100EURO, but we pay $180 and $200 respectively

The Pirate Tank seems quite good value, if only that it doesn't wildy exceed the 20c per piece price ratio like so many of this year's SW sets.
