Hewman Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Thats because no one goes to TRU here unless they want an exclusive, its not like they do well here not as many shops like kmart. And still its not too bad, the SW BP on ebay average 27 without shipping. How much is TRU flogging Endor bunker for. Endor bunker is a toyworld exclusive at the moment. It'll be intersting to see what toys ru us price their exclusive, the home one at once they have it on the shelves. I've actually found Toys r us to be pretty busy in the lego section in Adelaide at least, full of parents that don't realise way better prices can be found, and often within a 50 metre walk.
jonwil Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Just been to Target and discovered they've covered up all the special sale lego, so you can't purchase now. It looks like there'll be plenty of pirates and MMVs available at elast at the start of the sales. I did notice lots of spongebob sets on display still. I think most target stores (with the exception of stores like Fremantle and Perth CBD that dont have the space) are setting up areas with special shelving and labels for all the toy sale stuff and then fencing them off with those barrier things that are made out of the same stuff as car seat belts, presumably to make sure they still have stock left of the hottest most popular items when the sale starts. Not that it matters to me, not interested in anything in the sale (not building Castle or Pirates at the moment, only City).
DarthSion Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Funny i just got a toyworld leaflet, i see the bunker is 199, thought that would have been marked up, also see they are doing a lay-by until Xmas eve too.
Darth_Legois Posted July 17, 2009 Author Posted July 17, 2009 Ohhhh little farm tractor at Toy world for $4?!! YAY! I almost spent over $60 to get this from DJ's and sell it to svelte for $15. I'll have to go check my toyworld to se if they have it. I'll probable buy afew...Svelte want one for $15?
DarthSion Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Any of you guys or girls got the AT-OT, Hyena, or Endor, any opinions?.
RileyC Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 hey im from New Zealand and will soon be going on a holiday to sydney and I was wondering do they sell lego architecture sets over there? I really want some but cant get them over here. Your guys help is greatly appreciated
Strand Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Any of you guys or girls got the AT-OT, Hyena, or Endor, any opinions?. Endor is a decent set with a bunch of nice figures. The Endor troopers are pretty good, and it comes with the new R2 (can't get enough). The highlight would be the 2x speeder bikes + new AT-ST. The bunker isn't too flashy and the walls pop out pretty easily, but it is fairly screen-accurate so you can either use it as is, or cannibalise it for parts (guilty as charged). For $200, it's a bit on the expensive end of the spectrum but if you're ever going to get this set, might as well get it now. Toyworld rarely has big sales on these things. Hyena isn't that great. I'm not a big fan of seperatist in general, but I wouldn't buy it unless it was at least 30%+ off RRP. hey im from New Zealand and will soon be going on a holiday to sydney and I was wondering do they sell lego architecture sets over there? I really want some but cant get them over here. Your guys help is greatly appreciated If you're referring to the Eiffel Tower and Taj Mahal etc sets, then Myer will def be your best bet. Not sure how long the sale's still going for but they're $295 and $399 respectively (20% off). Until tomorrow, there's an additional 15% off with Myer One members.

They seem to at places except here in New Zealand and they look so cool!
jonwil Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 You wont find any of the sets in that line in Australia (unless they decide to add a Sydney Opera House to the line) The only places you will be able to get them likely would be the landmarks they represent and possibly special limited places elsewhere in the USA.
Legoman Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 I heard there only availible in the US or from lego direct
RileyC Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Damn. Oh well that leaves more money got star wars stuff! Thanks for the help everyone

It would probably cheaper to buy the pieces from bricklink and print the instructions from lego.com
Siegfried Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Any of you guys or girls got the AT-OT, Hyena, or Endor, any opinions?. I've got them all! First off, they are all expensive and arguably overpriced so I won't get into that. AT-OT AT-OT is better than I expected, and the Dropship is very accurate. Hyena Aside from the droids it's nothing special. I only bought it as I needed a third set in buy three get one free deal! Endor It's a great completist set as it includes many rare/new figs. The bunker is surprisingly good and the AT-ST is stunningly accurate.
DarthSion Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 (edited) Thanks Strand and Siegfried for your thoughts. I was just curious, about accuracy, i know never to expect it in lego, but was just wondering, as i have the AT-OT on Xmas lay-by at Kmart and today got the Endor on Xmas lay-by, they didn't have the Hyena. Yes i know about the prices, but i got the At-OT for 300, and to be fair it is like an AT-TE and a RAG in one, Endor for the size yeah it is expensive, but then each figure is like what 20-30 bucks on ebay. Its kind of funny though, TLG seem to have a split personality, SW OT sets they seem to be well "windoz" from Fanboys and seem to be set on accuracy, then when making PT/CW its like, well Eminem on stage with both middle fingers up. Eg, ISD very accurate, Venator, "bombs", flick fire missiles, the inside outside torrent, Palatine with the DS plans. BTW anyone thinking of Xmas lay-by toyworld change 20% deposit and want fortnightly payments. Edited July 18, 2009 by DarthSion

It would probably cheaper to buy the pieces from bricklink and print the instructions from lego.com I did this recently for the Empire State Building (I had all the parts except the name tile) and wanted to do it for the Guggenheim Museum (which I cant do because I cant get all the round and curved parts in white needed), mostly to show my sister who visited NYC recently.
RileyC Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 hey again. I was wondering if sydney has a lego retail store there? kinda like these ones.
YG-49 Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 (edited) hey again. I was wondering if sydney has a lego retail store there? kinda like these ones. There are no LEGO stores in Australia. I was wondering, is there a TRU near the Blue Mountains? I'm going there in October and would like to know because there aren't any TRU's near here. Hopefully the Mon Calamari will be there by October. EDIT: I just noticed, I'M A KNIGHT!!!! Edited July 19, 2009 by YG-49

Not the same as a Lego store, but still has a decent range and some rarities (like key rings and magnet sets)
Beej Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 So has everyone got their plan of attack ready for the Target sale? Selected stores open from midnight tonight!!!
Svelte Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 TRU has 30% off Lego Fri, Sat, Sun. Bizarrely the ad features the Legends rerelease of the Airport set that was previously a Myer exclusive a few years ago!
keetong Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 So has everyone got their plan of attack ready for the Target sale? Selected stores open from midnight tonight!!! I"m all ready, I'm gonna get my hands on the Medieval Market, Soldiers Fort and possibly another set on sale.

If they dont actually have that set (which is a set I would buy if I saw it), I hope the ACCC hits them for false-and-misleading advertising.
