TRU has 30% off Lego Fri, Sat, Sun.

Bizarrely the ad features the Legends rerelease of the Airport set that was previously a Myer exclusive a few years ago! :look:

they say it's 30% but in reality it's more like 20%. dooku's sailer will now sell for $80 down from $115! whee... :hmpf_bad:

well, this is at least good for the impulse sets. just hope they don't remove them or mark them up some more. glad i waited. in this market those who waited win! wish i had waited for the MMV. lol...

natelite, you're close to a TRU. do they have the 10159 Airport set or anything interesting?

EDITED to note: TRU's email pic has changed to an image of the combine harvester... so obviously a glitch and not a mysterious stash come to light!

I got the last MMV at my local Target. And that was at 5 minutes past midnight!

Adelaide Target, no MMV left. Pirates running low, no Spongebob that I could see, strangely lots of clone battlepacks available. Very little at toys r us that's exciting even at 30% off except Agents volcano base. Most sets are above RRP anyway so it ends up being similar to Target's price.

Edit: Tantive IV price now listed on S@H, $279.99, now I know US prices are always better but their's is $149.99 ($183.30 AUD). I guess we shouldn't be surprised, it's a similar story with the Endor set. To be fair it is a lovely looking set and I couldn't see a single sticker throughout, and I'd gladly hand over $200 for it if it makes it to a retail shop in the next 12 months.

I'm going to checkout my Target again tonight. I don't think there will be much left though, there were people clearing out entire shelves last night. I imagine a lot of it is going to end up on ebay. :sceptic:

Doesn't Target have a raincheck policy for Lego? They even had a special raincheck booth at the store I went to!

I'm sure they'll restock as well as the sale goes on, esp. over the next few days.

Going to head to Target after baseball training tonight (no midnight openings near me :( )

Hopefully there's some stuff left, specifically after some pirates stuff. If not, I will have to try with a raincheck (although I do not like my chances)

Thanks for the update, hewman! That's actually about what I was thinking. Obviously it had to be more than the Venator and that's US120. I even thought they might bump it up as high as $299.99 so I'm glad they didn't.

Look how brainwashed we are, grateful that a new set is under $300. Sad!

With shipping from S@H, this may be one of those sets it is better to get from BL.

Not a problem. I figure it won't be hard to get for say $180 US on bricklink and factor in shipping, it's probably about $280 AUD, so it's like free shipping from shop at home and the chances are you'll get it packed in a much better way.

I was expecting $300 RRP too. If it comes out in retail, would have been a nice opportunity to use that 20% off anything in-store online TRU coupon... Nevertheless, I've fallen in love with the Tantive IV set and will happily pay $280 in retail. Now to go back and drool a bit more...

Wow. Luck certainly was on my side tonight. Decided to do the ring of the three Targets near me as I was resigned to the fact I would be missing out on just about anything...

Turned up at stop #1 (Glendale). Walked in and I found not one but FIVE Medieval Markets! Ended up picked up two of those, two Brickbeard's Bounty, all of the pirate sets (double of some of the cheaper ones) as well as some construction sets. All in all I am glad that this was the last of the sales, I have spent a lot more than I care to admit :hmpf_bad:

On a side note, I noticed that my Target had one of the big Mars Mission sets as well as heaps of the mail planes from last year on the shelves. Old warehouse stock?

Man we get the short end of the stick, 300 bucks for the RBR, that's really over priced, i can get Endor because it has several exclusive mini figures, but RBR is just a rip off.

Indeed. I was in Target today to buy a MMV, and was strongly tempted to get a Indiana Jones Fight on the Flying Wing, discounted from $79.99 RRP down 20% to $63.99.

I'd seen the same set in TRU over the weekend at $89.99, which is $10 or 12.5% above RRP.

How do they get away with this? I know the "R" in RRP stands for recommended, but to me it's blatant price gouging. I won't shop at TRU out of principle.

Anyway, this weekend's TRU 30% sale will put the Flying Wing at $1 under Target's 20%. I'd rather give that to Target and encourage a retailer who plays fair.

So where is the best place to pick up Technic sets, especially the flagship sets? Are there any good online retails or store that i should have a look at?

In my experience K-Mart get most of the Technic sets, and Toyworld and Myer stock some of larger ones. I've bought all of the flagships in the last few years, and the last I bought on-line was 8421. (I'll be passing on the current flagship unless it's under $250 at retail.)

Edit: Tantive IV price now listed on S@H, $279.99, now I know US prices are always better but their's is $149.99 ($183.30 AUD).

:hmpf: To be honest, the more I look at it the more I don't care. I think it's because I have the Republic Cruiser... but the lack of any good parts, figs and the insane Star-Wars price could be part of it as well.

On a more positive note, I now have the two main Pirate sets! So far I've assembled the ship and it's wonderful. (I didn't go in the T-Shirt Svelte; due to time reasons my wife went herself on the way home, )

That's a HORRIBLE price.

It's more or less the same size (more or less the same damn model) as last years republic cruiser, and that was what, $180 AU?

It's disgusting that LEGO can get away with this kind of overcharging, and its happened to so many good sets i wanted to buy this year (Endor, Home One, and now this)

I guess i'll just have to wait for % off sales, or hope to find a bargain on ebay.

MMV is "no rainchecks", all the pirates are not.

If you want a MMV, grab one ASAP, I hit 2 stores yesterday and both were sold out.

Seems to be no problems with pirate stock so far.

Spongebob seems to be flying off the shelves though.

In all fairness, it looks quite a bit larger than the Republic Cruiser. The engine block is significantly larger and more complex and the rest looks more 'beefy' as well. But yeah, this thing is going to cost over double how much I paid for the cruiser ($120 at TRU). It's a shame that all these great sets are such a blow to the pocket, but in the end it's Lego's product and no-one's forcing us to pay for them.

On that note, has anyone seen a Home One in TRU stores?

Went to my local Target (Newton, SA) on Thursday night, no MMVs or large pirate ships. Went this afternoon and two MMVs on the shelf ( I grabbed one, thought about two, but decided it'd be nice if someone else got the same pleasant surprise as me). There were also plenty of big pirate ships on the shelf.

I can just see us on here in 5 years time saying "Lego is so expensive now, remember when you could buy the Medieval Market Village for $120" while we conveniently forget that this has to be one of the best value sets ever.

To Strand, Home One isn't at Adelaide Toys'r'us and even if they've arrived at stores I wouldn't expect them on the shelves until the "30% off our (ridiculously over-inflated) Lego prices" sale is over.

I'm back from holiday. Went to the Gold Coast for three days. I went to a Toyworld and they had (bear with me) the following sets in storage boxes. (Big brown ones with labels that read the set name.) Echo Base, Creator Family Home, STAR JUSTICE (Factory set!!) Bionicle, Titanium Command Rig (These ones weren't in storage boxes.) Crystal King and Separatist Shuttle. There were other ones, but the labels were blocked by boxes. The staff even let me open the box with the Echo Bases!

Im kindof suprised and yet not suprised at the Star justice, Suprised that they finally brought them out which is late since October last year they put the Space Skulls on the shelves  , Im hoping it'll be the same price $60 as the space skulls!:cry_happy: But not suprised they did it just suprised that its so late.. if that makes any sense.

Good to see the rest of the new sets are coming out now (most acouple months early).

Also I thought Echo Base was TRU Exclusive?! :look:
