xNick Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 anyone know where i can find house in target NSW area..? i tried my local target and they don't have any Talk to the front desk and see if you can get it trucked over from another store. Failing that, ask if you can get a raincheck.
Beej Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Ok so I rang around and spoke to some people at the various Target stores in my area. It seems they won't be getting the Creator family home in until after the sale has ended. I guess I'll just have to grab one from Kmart.
Siegfried Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 hello lego world Making a silly reply to a silly post of someone who is in the chamber isn't very smart.
YG-49 Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Making a silly reply to a silly post of someone who is in the chamber isn't very smart. That's your 9999th post. You couldn't even stay a Walrus Admin for 10,000 posts!
Siegfried Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 That's your 9999th post. You couldn't even stay a Walrus Admin for 10,000 posts! Yeah... sometimes it seems half my posts are telling people off... For the record 20% of my posts are staff related (you obviously can't see those), so that means 30% of my posts at best are LEGO related. Thus I've only made 3000...
Hewman Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 (edited) Is this too good to be true? I clicked on a link at the bottom of a topic here, and it usually has reputable business like bttw. This place Shopping Square has a sale that supposedly ends at midnight tonight (my guess is that this is to make you purchase quickly without thinking). The prices are ridiculous (30-40% off RRP) pretty much across the board. Even when you ignore all the sets that are 'coming soon' there are still a lot of bargains if they are for real. Has anyone here heard of this company? It looks dodgy to me and I won't be buying from here but I was wondering if anyone else knows anything about them. Edit: it seems to be predominantly bionicle and racers sets that are available. Are there Chinese rip-offs of these sets available? I noticed one brick product that definitely wasn't Lego listed there, a remote control car. A little research has revelaed that they sell some electronic products that appear to be below wholesale cost and there was talk of them being non-genuine products. Edited August 3, 2009 by hewman

I don't know man, but from what I can tell, he'd be making less than a dollar off the Lamborgini through the sale itself assuming postage is exact.... Must be using the lego as promotional loss leaders. He's got plenty of other stuff for sale on his site. Site looks real enough.

He's got plenty of other stuff for sale on his site. Site looks real enough. As far as I can ascertain, it looks like there's a good chance they'll ship you something, what it is though could be a lottery. I'm not sure about your theory, I can't see a lot of lego buyers wanting to add some electronics to their lego order. Also they're advertising sets that are currently exlcusives at other retailers. I'll give it a miss, but if you grab something and it goes well, let us know.
Svelte Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Since nothing good apart from the usual clearanced stuff or less popular sets seems to actually be available (like old Bionicle, the MM Ultra Drill Walker, Fight for the Golden Tower, Racer sets) I think this is just a sneaky promotional push. Ie, the prices are advertised at the huge discount but if everything is 'Coming Soon' and the sale ends tonight, I don't see how any of these amazing bargains are going to end up in anyone's hands Unless of course you want to fork out for sets like the Ultra Drill Walker or Golden Tower which have been half-price elsewhere at least 6 months ago!
DB24 Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I bought a sony digital camera off that site last year. it was 40% off RRP, and it is fully legit. never bought any LEGO off them though..
kaka1987 Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I saw 7079 and 7097 in Brisbane City's Toy's world. it's 69.99 for 7079 and 149.99 for 7097.... :P....prices just like S@H .... btw, does 7079 exclusive to Toy's World?
Svelte Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 The 7679 Republic Fighter Tank is back at S@H - I thought this was only going to be in the US, so grab it if you haven't already. The 2 Space Police 3 exclusives are also now available - Max Security Transport for $59.99 and Squiddy's Pitstop for $69.99. Have the new wave of sets arrived in Myer yet? Myer One members get $20 off for each $75 spent until Aug 16.
jonwil Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 The only new stuff I have seen in Myer lately is Racers stuff. Myer has a much crapper lego selection lately than they have in the past (with K-mart, Target and Big W having much better ranges)
kaka1987 Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 O.... i havent been to Myer's toy section for 2 monthes.. since like you said, the selection of Lego is quite crap in Myer store...(except 10194 in the past) Briville<-----I dont know who will buy this
Hewman Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Have the new wave of sets arrived in Myer yet? Myer One members get $20 off for each $75 spent until Aug 16. Nothing new at all at Myer Adelaide, pity with the discount and myerone voucher I have, it would have been nice.
dotmike Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Myer One members get $20 off for each $75 spent until Aug 16. How much would that make the 10189 Taj Mahal? I think it is a Myer exclusive. I saw it at the Sydney CBD Myer. It is $499 RRP, and was $399 at Myer during their recent toy sale. If I understand the discount correctly (which I don't think I do, entirely), that would make it: 499 / 75 ~= 6 chunks of discount. 6 * 20 = 120 dollars off. 499 - 120 = $379 final price. Not too bad if you really wanted that set. Add another $26 of something and you'd get $525 worth of Lego for $385.

From my quick read of it yesterday I thought it was $20 off if you spend over $75, meaning you'd only get $20 off the Taj Mahal. Pity you missed out on the myerone card holder sale the other week, could have got it for $340.

But if you spend $150-$224.99, you get $40 off. And so on. Dotmike is right. You just have to be clever about how you spend to get the maximum discount.

I might have to check out a suburban Myer on the weekend to se eif they have a better range.

Hewman Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 (edited) The Home One (7754) is now at Toys R Us (well Adelaide store at least), now for the catch, the *****s (if I said what I really thought I'd get banned and I'd prefer not to) there are pricing it at $199.99. I'm sort of glad at the price because it meant I wasn't tempted at all to hand over my cash to those ******s. I'll wait until the new Christmas sets are out and add one to my order from Shop at Home.
