MicroM Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 From memory the new kits will be released in Jan at their RRP. Then usually a few weeks later someone like KMart will have a 15% off (that seems to be the new 20% off, though to be fair Kmart's RRp is usually under LEGO's). So if you're patient you can wait a few weeks and get them a little cheaper. Boxing Day sales rarely include toys, outside of old stock they are desperate to get rid of. By the way I noticed my KMart this morning has run its stock down pretty well. They still have a few Farms and Harvesters and a little PM, but the sales / clearance has moved most of the items. I did notice that 1 then 2 Death Stars appeared recently, however 1 was gone today, and still at $599.

I'd love for one to appear at my K-Mart, but no such luck, $599 is a great price considering that RRP is $699. Imagine if you got it on a 15% off also................

I was lucky enough to pick one up when LEGO released them at AUD$399 - so a second one is just being greedy Though I am wondering what will happen after Christmas if any AT-OT's hit the shelves for people who cancelled them right before Christmas, there's nothing greedy about another one of those

MicroM Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Hardly news - but I noticed Coles has the Red Sports car for $5. They didn't have any Tow trucks at my Coles, so not sure if that was reduced, but I did notice they had a bunch of stuff for clearance so I assume that is a bit cheaper now. KMart had nothing reduced.

I picked up an Indi set 7197 Vence Canal Chase for only $30 at Kmart Mt. Barker (at least the out of city limit Kmarts were open today). Besides they had one city corner left, some mid-scale MF's and a few Technic sets, of this one - wow talking about empty shelves. If Coles have the normally $12.99 sports car for five bucks - buy them because that's $7.99 off r.r.p., also if thats the case if any other Coles still has the tow truck then that would be under 10 bucks !
jonwil Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 I was in the Target store in Whitfords today and they had almost empty shelves and everything they did have was at RRP. Only items on the shelves were: 2 City bulldozers A few farms A few City Corners The Technic tractor and 1 or 2 impulse sets like the cement mixer Defiantly a total lack of stock. Big W had a fair bit more though.
lightningtiger Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Like I might have posted a few ago that Lego Australia is moving warehouses, but the major chain stores will get ticked off with Lego (au) if supplies are not restored. But they even have the retailiers over a barrel, as this is a big seller and pitty the poor buyer that turns away new Lego they would soon find themselves out of a job ! There has to be fresh stocks comming the first of the new releases are only about a week to two weeks away, hopefully they can pull their finger out and get to work on supplying shops again.

My Coles has lots of both the Car and the Truck marked down for clearance $5 for the car and $7.50 for the truck. I got 2 of each, my sister got 2 of each for her kids and my mother got 1 car, "just incase". Hahaha!
jonwil Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Thanks for the tip on the tow truck, if I happen to go past any Coles stores in my travels today, I will be sure to check them out and see if they have any in stock (dont need any sports cars, one is enough for me)
YG-49 Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 The new Star Wars sets are on S@H. But OMG! $22 for the battlepacks and $50 for the Freeco and Tri-Fighter! Sorry if this has been posted...
DarthSion Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 (edited) 110 for the ARC get stuffed. Lol, the twilight is on sale and saying sold out, WTF it was sold out like a week ago and they now have it for sale?. The BP aren't too bad, disappointed with the others, over priced as usual, I think I will save up and then get them during a % off sale. We really do get the short end of the stick with SW, the assassin droids is the cheapest i have seen at 18, but city gets 5 buck impulse sets, what a rip. Edited December 28, 2009 by DarthSion
TheDarkness Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 The Lego sales at S@H seem a bit underwhelming to me. A few decent ones, but it seems alot of the sets aren't getting that big discount they were awhile ago. Wasn't the Twilight on sale for $79.99 or something earlier in the year? Maybe the days of 50% off from S@H have ended for us Aussies :(
Siegfried Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 110 for the ARC get stuffed. Indeed! $50 for the Freeco Speeder is rather insane as well. The City stuff seems better (but not good) priced this year though.
DarthSion Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Yeah lets just hope there is a % off every month like this year. I wonder how long from S@H to chain stores get them.
d00dz Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 OMG OMG OMG!! I went to Kmart to go and browse and stuff was walking around and I found Death Star 10188!!! It was NOT where the normal lego was. I was walking around trying to find a price check machine then the "LEGO" logo caught my eye as it was on a big shelf near some larger items! Woooooooooo. I giggled as I took it to the car and seeing all the lil kids faces.. :D :D :D It cost me $475. And to think I was actually going to order one from lego shop next week.
Siegfried Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 It cost me $475. And to think I was actually going to order one from lego shop next week. That's a good deal. Not as good as the $400 mine cost, but still good....

I got 2 of each, my sister got 2 of each for her kids and my mother got 1 car, "just incase". Hahaha! Confirmed. I just bought 2 Sports car and one Tow Truck. I wouldn't buy them unless they were this cheap. :p Thanks for the info.

Your defiantely one lucky person for finding one of those.............. I wonder if it could have been a layby not picked up? Must check K-Mart stores in SA now.......
jonwil Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 I also saw lots of sports cars and tow trucks at the Coles I was in yesterday (Belmont Forum) so they are definatly out there. Spotted a Death Star at the K-Mart in Belmont too (no money left otherwise I would have bought it) Likely another "I put it on lay-by but I cant afford it anymore" situation.
MicroM Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Nice deal with the Death Star, they had 2 at my local KMart, one went before Christmas, the other after. They were always $599 when I price checked them. Though I'm kind of glad I didn't see them for $475, I would have been tempted, and that wouldn't be an easy purchase to justify at home The 2010 pricing does look steep (but don't we say that every year), especially that Tie Defender and Freco bike. I was actually surprised the Battle packs hadn't gone up sooner.

I was actually surprised the Battle packs hadn't gone up sooner. The 2010 pricing is steap but I didn't realise plastic increased in price this year. I can't believe the price of the Tie Defender, that new helmet cost's at least $20 dollars by itself at a $89.99 RRP price. Expect $100.00 at Toy's'R'Us The battle packs aren't too bad, only a few dollars extra, and with a store 20% off, they'll be ultra tempting to get large quantities.
Svelte Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Some big prices across the board apart from SW - 5891 Apple Tree House is overprice at $80 and charging $15 for a 67 piece Atlantis set seems odd to say the least. I wonder if this means we'll see a jump to the 10210 Flagship when it goes on sale, as we've seen with big Exclusives before. Patchy selection, too. I can't say there's a lot that's tempting at the moment.
