is that dolphin polybag new? Only ones I remember are the cat habitat, bunny at vet, and the doghouse

I'm expecting another of the magazine exclusive foil bags (like CMF used to be) Unless they finally move to paper like the Ninjago magazine free gifts.

The dolphin's story concludes in the august issue's free gift

! ! (2)

Your overly dark sense of humor strikes again!

By polybag I of course meant foil pack

Makes me think that we may see sets 41737, 41736, 41752 or 41734 in the July comic story

I wonder if charli will be in one of the upcoming comics? We would finally get confirmation that they are non binary!

also, it seems the episodes are taking a break, it used to be every other week, but it’s been a month since unstoppable puppies (ep 5), but there is supposed to be 10 episodes, plus new beginnings, and a holiday special. So I’d guess either July or August for the next chapter to return

guess I should get the memes ready…

Got the community kitchen on Monday, really nice and big building for what you pay. I would definitely recommend.

Also, finally got alba! She’ll go great with my Leo’s house moc from a while back, and now I can add the finished paisley’s house revamp to my house collection!

Really? I think it's one of the most overpriced Friends sets. It's a one story building for nearly $70. For twice as much you can get 4 stories with the Community center.

Well, each to their own, I guess

It's a great set, I want it, just is super expensive to me when you can get three more floors for $73 more.

You actually have a good point, it’s essentially a smaller community center for people who can’t afford the real one (aka, me)

I guess I should just be happy LEGO didn't just make the Community Center a $160-$180 set just to make the Kitchen set seems more reasonably priced. haha Don't worry, LEGO seems to be going on sale more as the world economy collapses so we should get more sales.

Brickset has a list of retiring sets this year. Kind of surprised at the 2023 ones that are retiring. Well the Grocery Store retiring isn't shocking at all. LEGO doesn't want our LEGO figures buying food. The list includes, donut shop, grocery store, camping trip, downtown flower and design, bubble tea, dog can rescue, cat hotel, salon, and skate park. Here's the list in case I missed any, plus the 2022 sets I thought already retired.

Well, new short out today!

oh, and Matilde’s brother (yes, the girl narrating the shorts is Matilde) has a crush on autumn?

according to my headcannons, this will go as well as my 10th grade crush…

Over the past two days I built the Community Center and Community Kitchen sets!

Both sets are absolutely fantastic—I love all the vibrant colors and interior and exterior features, and the figures are fantastic—I especially love Liann and Olly's shirts, which match both each other and the ones they're working on inside on the top floor.

I found their advertised compatibility to be a little flawed. Placing the Community Kitchen under the Community Center building as the booklet recommends creates a couple little issues—apart from the height difference between the center and patio being quite stark, the sign to the kitchen seating also no longer points the right direction and the old door to the community center leads to only a drop from one story up. I think I actually prefer keeping the kitchen and community center in their default configurations, and putting the kitchen on the right side of the center. In that configuration, the sidewalk is continuous, the rainbow pattern is maintained (just with a 90-degree "bend"), the difference in heights of the neighboring buildings is not quite so stark, and the stairs to the patio of the kitchen create a nice parallel with the slide up above.

Couldn't you move the door of the HLC community center to the top of the kitchen's staircase and replace it with a generic 1x4x6 window pane? Also, if you put the seating area to the left of the kitchen instead of to the right and remove the 1x4 parapet segments at the top of the stairs/ramp that used to go to the community center, the sidewalk will still be continuous and the sign for the seating area will still point the correct direction.

Your approach works too, of course, but it seems like even if you stack the two buildings, it's not too hard to solve most of the issues that you describe. Then again, you have the set and I don't, so maybe there are issues with the approach I'm envisioning that I've failed to anticipate. If you want you can try what I'm suggesting and let me know if it works or not!

I suppose you could do that (although the instructions show it the other way around). But besides that fix requiring an extra window pane, it doesn't fix the dramatic height difference between the five-story community center+kitchen and the ground-level patio.

Having the kitchen module to the right of the community center instead of the left also makes the "back" of the two buildings stick out less far from the base (since the slide and staircase both occupy the space between the two buildings instead of sticking out of the "back"), which could be useful if you plan to display it on a shelf.

By the way, removing a 1x4 section of the patio fence if you want to put the patio on the community center base is the intended way to assemble that portion according to the instructions.

The patio seating area is just a 16x16 space with the seating subassembly attached to it, right? I don’t have these sets yet (waiting for a good discount) but what I’m planning is to get the DREAMZzz Treehouse and use that to replace the patio. Debating whether or not I peel off all the treehouse elements so that it’s just a really massive tree. It’s going to be at the back corner of my layout, so my priority here is having something tall sticking up above the buildings in front of it, and a giant tree feels like a great way to break up the skyline.

Yeah, when you combine the sets you can attach the patio from the kitchen onto the 16x16 base from the community center. Presumably you could attach any 16x16 module there (though if it was a square section without a corner cutout, the back corner wouldn't be supported).

I'm now thinking about other ways you could expand/mod the community center set. The 8x8 cutout in each floor would serve as a nice spot to add a stairwell or elevator if you wanted to give the building more realistic access between floors,

It’s, what, one brick and two plates? I’m sure everyone can scrounge up enough spare parts to put in a bit of support in the back corner. For me, it’s going to go in a bit of empty space between some of my Modulars and the back wall, so my priority isn’t so much modifying the building to be good and functional, as it is making something tall and visually distinct that’ll look good as a set piece in the backdrop (so to speak). To that end, I’ll probably see if I can add an extra floor, just for the added height. (Maybe a nougat-coloured floor between the pink and yellow floors, or possibly a white one at the very top would be good. Or perhaps a dark blue floor that functions as an actual proper indoor eating area, above the kitchen but below everything else. Either way, gotta keep the rainbow consistent.)

Elevator’s definitely a good idea, though; just off the top of my head it’s probably simple enough to construct an 8x8 TECHNIC frame with a platform attached to it that can be raised and lowered, which isn’t actually attached except to the bottom so it won’t impede removing the upper floors if needed. My only concern would be that if you’re using the Community Kitchen as the base, you might need to shift around some of the kitchen’s contents.

Sooo, now that we know Zac’s pet, dango, exists, I was rewatching tap tap pup pup clean today and I completely missed this line from zac in the episode!

And the summer sets had been revealed at the time, so that threw us all off guard

in case you’re wondering, the subtitles are inaccurate, zac actually said “I know, PUGS just like my Dango

2024 line up sounds great and diverse, glad we’re getting space themed sets and I’m always excited about the animal sets, especially the baby cow (calf) shed! Just hope we get a cow too, I’m still waiting for an adult friends zebra to go with the foal we got some time ago!
