Had a shower thought about dia from that new beach park set, what if she’s a big time influencer/celebrity, perhaps nova’s idol, and, over the course of an episode, becomes friends with our main group of friends, essentially she’s just this era’s livi/jermey door/Amelia

I mean... Maybe the International High School is a famous, historical building within the Lego world? Like how we have sets of places we can go to in our world like Old Trafford, Big Ben and The Taj Mahal? It'd be weird to go to a fun fair and see a prize representing my old high school though

New beginnings implies the school is pretty recent, as Aliya states it's a "new school"

Ironically, the 2021 heartlake school looks similar to my old high school

Doesn't necessarily imply that the building is new, despite it looking very modern. Maybe it used to be a dynamite factory or something? Even though we all know that it only appears in set 41737 as Lego's latest "Buy The Playset Bitches" product placement.

In other news.. After looking at 7 Newsagents in my town yesterday and not finding the April issue, and looking in 2 Newsagents in a neighbouring town today and not finding April's issue; I looked in one of yesterday's Newsagents again today and they had 2 copies.

There's some kind of Friendception going on here... 🤔

Strange how the magazines are so different, in Netherlands it was the Cat Tree miniset with the new Friends logo at the start of year, and just recently the Bunny at Vet station (both listed under Brickset as 2023).

 

I know there are different language versions of the magazines, and also different publishers (Netherlands had Meis&Maas (now called Billy Bones), Germany/Poland has Blue Ocean I think), which could explain things.

But based on that preview page, all 3 of those are from 2021 : 

Also I remember my country used to have 12 City magazines a year, until a few years ago it got reduced to 6 , so a lot of the listed minisets never released here.

The main magazine I collected was Nexo Knights each release, and then 2019 City, but have become a bit more selective afterwards.

I think I got 2 of those mini dinos from the Jurassic World magazine a few years ago, have been my only licensed sets (others being like 1 1999 Star Wars set and then a 15 year Pause from buying new LEGO)

I've been reading some news articles, and apparently the characters are 12-13 in this series

Autumn, liann, Zac, and Olly are stated to be 12, while Aliya, Paisley, Leo, and Nova are 13

Sounds about right, if they are moving to a new school, at least 12/13 is usually the age people go to secondary school here, (i suppose comparable to Junior High in USA)

The international school in the show is called "heartlake international high school" by Mrs Hale, the principal, Aliya calls it "a high school", etc

Typically, 12-13 is 6-7th grade, 8th at best in the u.s

Though this definitely explains why there's a lack of cars, trucks, automobiles, etc that the new characters are driving, I mean, 2012 showed that Stephanie was old enough to drive, we see the 2018 girls drive in girls on a mission, with Mia even piloting a submarine! While we only have 2 sets where the new cast are driving, and one's a 4+ set!

So, liann in this episode… was kind of a jerk, yeah, I get offended pretty easily too, and I’ve seen people do worse than liann, but yeah… olly was very funny in this episode, and is the most British person I’ve ever seen (no offense anyone)

oh, and Aliya and zac live in the same apartment, I wonder how Lego will pull that off?

Anyway, on to details/other things I want to point out… 

Welp, there goes my “adidi and Matilde are girlfriends theory"

is it weird for me to want these outfits for olly, liann, and zac?

layout of hlc international high school, in case anyone wants to build a moc/expansion

now, my thoughts, overall this episode was a bit slower than previous, but still good, the plot was mixed

Thank goodness Liann finally got held accountable for making fun of people with her drawings. That's bugged me about her since she drew brad as a dog.

If Olly is heterosexual I'll eat his minidoll. The way he says guuuurl   😏

Confirmed that Nova hates furry animals! She definitely adopted Pickle to add his skull to her collection. 🤣

Since Lego don't like making Friends houses for male characters, I bet a future big location set will be an apartment building that will double as Aliya's House with an extra bedroom for Zac.

I’m already disappointed that adidi and Matilde aren’t girlfriends, and now olly too? Is the only gay couple in hlc Trevor and Joshua from the Main Street building set!?

im starting to wonder if charli will ever get at least a speaking role, it’d be nice for them to be acknowledged, even though they appear in the background at the downtown diner

And Liann is totally a Furry; there was no need for her to draw her racoon OC lounging seductively in the School set, but she went ahead and did it.

Plus most of her art is depicting anthro animals.

Agreed on both, but then again, maybe her supposed girlfriend is just a friend…

They wouldn't dare!! 

Though now Charli has appeared in 2 sets, I wonder if we'll see them take a more active part in an episode? Imagine if they cast Jacob Tobia, the non-binary voice actor who voiced the non-binary Double Trouble?

Or maybe  more of a role in the comics since Lego wouldn't have to choose a voice actor for that.

Wait... Does Gabby use the "male" friends torso? Maybe it's outfits for Olly, or a pre surgery MTF person?

I'm already imagining swapping Gabby's hairpiece with the blue recolour of the Hidden Side cap piece from Lego Dreamzzz to make a new guy character for my HLC

Looks OK. First thoughts;

Bus is a bit short, but reasonably spacious,

Good to have another male adult, he reminds me of the Janitor from the show,

Daisy's hairpiece reused, must be another Lego City fan,

Retractable wheelchair/mobility scooter ramp, 

Looks like everyone's reading Love in Hyrule,

Rainbow Bus Stop fits with the other rainbow themed stuff around HLC,

Bit surprised there's no small dog to go in the basket or whatever
