On the minifig mission site, in mission #6, you can see there are parts in there that can be made/are made(like the ron/max/skater hair) so I think lego will either:

A)make sets for it

B)have them at events to buy/win them

or C)not make anything at all.

My geuss is with B.

I think you mean mission 5. And those look computer generated. But they have announced that everything you see in the game will be able to be ordered, including your minifig, but this feature will not be available at launch.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I do know it was computer generated, but what I meant is that they would make a minifig that looks close to it, but with realistic peices/colors.

This topic hasn't been posted in for months... *looks out into alot of nothing*

I'm definitely seeing some very interesting concepts in the game - I especially like the idea of being able to build stuff and the currency being in bricks. However, MMO's aren't my cup of tea, and neither is paying subscription costs. In addition to that, Lego obviously has to cater/pander to the majority who will be playing this game (little kiddies) - I think I'm happy to only have to put up with that when I buy their regular products!

In the meantime, I will return to enjoying Team Fortress 2 and Bad Company 2. I enjoy my ultraviolence. :classic:

My 11 and 13 year old kids got LEGO Universe for Xmas this year.

No hassles with setup.

It runs fairly decently on a pretty crappy old computer with only 1 gig ram and no special graphics processor.

There were some minor in-game glitches that haven't caused any grief.

They seem to really enjoy it. Missions are reasonably achievable. They are accumulating a small army of pets. Have built their own house that they show off to anyone who visits our house. There's really not much to the building aspect of it - it seems very primitive.

So far there hasn't been much social interaction or team building. I am also not sure if there is an overall "game" in the sense of a goal and a bigger mission that has to be accomplished through teamwork. So far they mostly seem to be running around doing their own thing.

I am not sure what will keep their interest going long term, but for the time being we got more bang for the buck out of this present than out of any other present they got this Xmas.

It sounds like they've been solely using the premade building models to build with. If not then disregard. Once they start building (if not already) brick by brick you will see that the building part of the game isn't as primitive as you believe it to be. After all the behaviors are unlocked your children will be able to create their own minigames within their property! This link provides examples of some of the most innovative properties out there yet!

As for the team building, there pretty much isn't any. Even the tasks that seemingly require teamwork I've managed to tackle solo. I'm hoping 2011 will bring updates to rectify all the current issues. I'm giving them a chance.

LU!

Social interaction is quite difficult. To destroy the dragons, you almost need a group to do it in a reasonable amount of time. Trying to coordinate and use numbers, numerical or typed out, is darn near impossible. They have made it VERY kid friendly, which is good if that's what they were going for. But they need to keep updating with new worlds as some of the running around is starting to get old.

Always looking for more people to run around with. Look for Flapjack on Overbuild US.

Recent updates have addressed many concerns posted in this thread but there is still room for improvement in LU. It seems new content is released each month which I feel is reasonable. Especially when the new additions are this epic!:

NEW Faction specialties! (taken from LEGO Club magazine. Background image is a part of a puzzle where readers had to match the background the the minifig)

So far TLG is doing a good job for their first MMO.

LU!

Thanks for showing these Jeb . I saw these on LU wikia a few days ago and my face still looks like this *oh2*. I think that they all are epic and its hard too choose my favourite, but its either Inventor(I want to know the shoulder pad power! I can wait to find out what it is.) or the Shinobi(if thats how to say it). My only problem with the others is that the Adventurers hat looks like a cowboy hat and the wip doesnt look like a wip, While the space rangers gun and helmet dont look right :sceptic:.

But the valiant weapons are 100% aweosme  and if they do do more than 3+3+3 then I will be in paradise. I just hope they have strong stats and are equivilant to two hand iteams with the multi-iteam powers.

Thanks, Crabboy329

P.s. I have a few wands, elites bot helms and other stuff that I need getting rid of so conctact me if you want some :sweet:)

Why is no one playing lu anymore. I want to know why. Every time i play i see some people playing but i am sure there not AFOLs. I play weekly and my advice is if your bored with the game do all of the really hard achivements like i'm doing. Now tell me why you all stoped playing.

I think the free to play version is a fail cuz there's only advant gardens and I could not live without forbidden valley. :sadnew:

I don't care for it either. Only the first 2 areas are available and you can only use one since once u leave the first area, you can't go back. Outside of some extra challenges, i'm done. I downloaded it shortly after it became available and I was able to finish(up to the extra challenges of course) all the way to the point you have to blast off to the new area(blocked to freebies). That only took me about 3 hours INCLUDING downloading time. :hmpf_bad:

I haven't played in about 3 days now. if the membership was cheaper, i'd get a month long membership but at 10 dollars, no.

Just got an email saying LU's now free. Might be old news, but I think it's the whole game free now.

I wish, the game has had a free trail option for nearly a month now. You get access to the first to game levels, rather restricive - but it is a trail.

Word of warning (to everyone)

If you download the free trail/ full game, then when the patcher opens click the button 'options' and change the first dropdown menu to 'full download' not 'ingame download'.

Thanks, CB

I was one of the lucky Betha testers, almost from the beginning.

The game was very fun at least for some days (although we'd get everything wiped from time to time :hmpf_bad: )

However, at some point I got bored, mainly for two reasons:

-After you completed a certain amount of missions, there wasn't much to do regarding missions.

-I don't find myself comfortable building on LU. I'd rather play with Lego in the real world, or make models in MLCAD.

I'm glad that many are enjoying the game. Does this still happen, or is the game now more dynamic than before?
