So should we expect official reveal and reviews today?

Our reviews won't come today, that's for sure. Where does this date come from btw?

Hmm I guess so? I saw this as a comment under the "unofficial" review from Luca (Brick-a-brac)...

There's an interesting photo over at brickmerge.de that seems to show a pre-production model. If you compare the surface quality of the new parts to the parts existing before, it seems like all of the new parts were 3d printed. Even the fender has a sticker on.

Good spot. And looks like they dropped the carbon fiber stickers on the panels too to be more accurate to the source car. The funny thing is that pre-production model is still depicted on the back of the box and it shows the non-existing stickers.

Indeed, didn't notice that.

Really? Maybe the box art is pre-production, too. It's not, this is the picture on the bottom right on the backside of the box, isn't it?

This is just ridiculous.

Ridiculous or not, these are the rules. We can either accept them or wait until January 1st when the sets are on the shelves officially and anyone can make content about them. I guess if you are really interested in this model then you could already find every possible detail on YouTube, published by people who doesn't need to follow any rules.

@kbalage, I'm not pointing at You, but LEGO. I fully understand the idea of embargo but not telling when I can expect to see proper reviews is just silly to me.

TLG is not the only company doing this, guess it makes sense from some marketing point of view. But as @Jundis mentioned it is not that difficult to figure out the pattern, nowadays reviews are shared roughly 2 weeks prior the street date of the set.

I find it somewhat unbelievable that Sariel would be unaware of the proper embargo date.

He's totally aware of it, that's why his review is not online yet.

He did post the review before the date, before removing it, which to me suggests lack of awareness, at least initially. I'm just saying it's odd, especially for him.

Sorry man but I really don't understand what is so difficult to grasp about it. He posted it accidentally, then quickly corrected it, end of story. It happens with the best of us.

Probably most people who deal with many youtube videos actually prepare and upload the videos privately earlier and set it to go public on a specific date (YT has such an option), this way avoiding the need to rush on that date. He might have just accidentally forgot to set the publication date and just went public immediately, which he corrected when he realized it.

Indeed, this is the most likely explanation. No way Sariel would ignore the embargo date in such a manner or not understand how it works. Still, mistakes can be made by anyone.

Gentlemen, welcome to Fight Club.
1) The first rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about release dates.
2) The second rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about the embargo.
3) Third rule of Fight Club: Someone yells "Stop!", goes limp, taps out, the review was too early. Please erase it.
4) Fourth rule: Only two guys to a fight: TLG and Reviewer.
5) Fifth rule: One review at a time, fellas.
6) Sixth rule: No leaks, no spy photos.
7) Seventh rule: Release delay will go on as long as they have to. Liebherr crane...
8) And the eighth and final rule: If this is your first night at Eurobricks "coming sets" topic, you have to wait.

My review is up! This time I did not put an inappropriate facial expression in the thumbnail :) The engine is fascinating!

Me, Sariel, and Racingbrick all released our reviews of the SAME set at the SAME time! What an insane coincidence! The universe works in strange ways!

Nice little review.  Not sure I find the engine all that fascinating though.  TLG will have to create new pieces for that to happen IMO.  Or at least axles in a different color so we dont have BROWN piston heads
