Classic_Spaceman Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 I am beginning to think that we have only seen footage of the first 2-3 episodes. A lot of the trailer shots seem to be part of the same scenes, and the timestamps on the images released by Netflix put them in the first two episodes. The shot of Arin kicking Ras is at 19 minutes of Ep. 1, the shot of Rapton and two Raz warriors running through a tunnel is from two minutes into Ep. 2, and the shot of Arin, Sora, and Baby Dragon (possibly in the Monastery or the Bounty?) is from sometime in Ep. 2. Some speculation: - Trailer 1 shot at 0:26 (Ras jumping onto Sora's bike), Trailer 2 shot at 0:29 (Ras' shockwave attack), the Arin vs. Ras still, and the Trailer 2 shot at 0:38 (Sora and Arin flying away), are all part of the same scene. We can see Baby Dragon at 0:30 of Trailer 2, so we know that all three main characters of DR have met and are fighting the Imperium by the end of Ep. 1 (the shot of the Rempress (0:24 of Trailer 1) may also be in Ep. 1, since she is talking to Ras via her collapsible floating holo-screen hexagon). - The Rapton still appears to show the train from 0:09 in Trailer 2, so this is probably the opening scene of Ep. 2 (I am guessing that we are seeing the interior of an Imperium facility, given the colour-scheme). - All shots of A&S working on the mech are probably from the same episode, along with the Frogman shot (the pie is almost certainly the "alternative form of payment" mentioned in the 2T1L, and is probably in return for mech parts); I suspect that the mech race scenes are also from this episode. - Sora gives her mech a literal glow-up at 0:43 of Trailer 1, and it can be seen glowing at 0:56 of Trailer 1; the background of the scene of Sora's technokinesis is the same location as the rock monster scenes at 0:15 and 0:56 of Trailer 2, but the mech is not glowing at T2 0:56. I am predicting that A&S will encounter the rock monsters, briefly fight them, meet their leader (the one with the spiky head at T2 0:15), and Sora will unlock her power all in the same episode (this is also probably where the 2T1L scene of the Ninja eating mud takes place). - We can tell the order of events from Sora's mech, as well; since the glow-up occurs in the rock monsters' domain, the shot of it glowing while Lloyd fights Starro in the Cloud Kingdom (T1 0:56) must take place later. This also means that the shots of A&S captured and being rescued by Lloyd are from earlier (maybe Ep. 2, considering the Rapton scene from very early in that episode?). - All shots of the Bounty flying through the mountains are likely from the same sequence, as well as the scenes of the dragons in the same mountains, and of the Imperium chasing the Bounty and capturing said dragons. The Ninja are probably flying to the Cloud Kingdom during this scene, since there are heavy clouds above the mountains, and the Bounty is seen breaking through dense clouds at T2 0:18. - The shot of Nya at T1 0:48 takes place as the Ninja approach the Cloud Kingdom, since the Core ice dragons that fly overhead are seen landing in the CK at T2 0:34. - The shot of Arin using Spinjitzu against the Zurg bots is obviously after Lloyd trains him at the Monastery. Regarding the last shot in the third trailer: Spoiler I think that the missing Ninja (Jay, Cole, Zane) are somehow trapped inside the Coalescence storm, and this is a scene of L/K/N (along with A&S and Baby Dragon) going back in to find them. Given Sora's punch at the end of the shot, I expect this to be the closing scene of the second or third episode. At the beginning of the trailer, we see all of the Ninja flying into the centre of the storm, which then closes and triggers the Merge; I suspect that this storm either is some kind of singularity or portal that causes cosmic upheaval, and that the Ninja need to find a way to close it before another event occurs (see the Netflix synopsis). Quote
Classic_Spaceman Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Another Netflix synopsis: "Two teenagers from different worlds use their newly discovered Ninja powers to defend dragons from villains who want to use their life-force for evil." This confirms that Sora will be from a different realm (since Arin is from Ninjago), and that both characters will have powers. Quote

Not me going back and forth between trailers to see the shots . Also happy to see the Rempress name sticking. A couple more bits to add as well: I believe all the scenes at the start of trailer one (the city at night and the pie) happen the night before the race. This would be a continuation of the scene we got today, as Arin continues to narrate something along the lines of "I met sora and found out she raced mechs" and then we see them shopping for mech parts. Then when they cant get the specific part they need, they go to a junk yard where they encounter the zurg bots, although I cant explain Arin using spinjitzu, so you are probably right. Then, after getting the part, we get the shot of Ninjago City from the start of trailer 2 where its sunrise, and the day of the race. We get a montage of them working on the mech (0.05 and 0.07 of T1) and then they race. I also want to point out the shots at 0.13 and 0.14 are probably Arin and sora inside the imperium freight train, as the still of rapton shows he is fighting someone. I'm betting Arin and Sora get captured and are being taken to imperium HQ and Lloyd shows up (for some reason, looks like he has vanished up to this point) and breaks them out. Another thing is the shot of the Imperium dragon hunter hound looks like it takes place in a junk yard. In the shot of Rapton and the triceratops gliders chasing the bounty at 0:22 T1 he looks happy, as if he has been chasing the ninja and is getting revenge. If this was the first time he was laying eyes on the bounty he would be more confused at a flying pirate ship I think. I also think your theory of only the first 2 episodes may actually be right, I forgot we are back to 22 mins so its really like the first 4 episodes. I also wonder what Arins power will be. Looks like this will be more of a focus on the 2 cast and less of the ninja. I guess they have become background/allied characters now. Quote

a guy from somewhere Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 3 minutes ago, Classic_Spaceman said: Probably (I expect that this is where Ras was pre-Merge). Yeah, he seems to have the same sort of chi-power up as the other characters (if he is the imperium hunter hound, thats yet to be proven) and he matches the tiger/black panther type character from the fire and ice season. We also know there was a giant floating island in chima which is consistent with what we have seen (ninjago physics allows for floating islands) and the ongoing theory of the serpentine being from chima is also still kicking around, especially as there wasn't any snakes in the sets or show for chima. I love how what was meant to be a quick little gag or reference in a season 5 montage has spawned this whole debate. Wonder what would happen if the ninja got their hands on some chi? Quote
bluedog1111 Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 Interestingly Lego also recently renewed the copyright to manufacture sets using stuff from the Chima IP which isn't significant in it's own right however Lego hasn't done that for other of it's retired themes like monster hunters. I think if we're ever getting a Chima return this is it. Quote

That, or we flash forward to the pie scene and get exposition via present-day dialogue. 7 minutes ago, a guy from somewhere said: Then when they cant get the specific part they need, they go to a junk yard where they encounter the zurg bots, although I cant explain Arin using spinjitzu, so you are probably right. I expect the montage to be after the pie, but before the nighttime scenes (get part -> build mech -> relax and take in the view). The day of the race comes next (racing scenes), and A&S somehow run afoul of the Imperium, leading to the standoff at the end of Ep. 1. My guess is that they find Baby Dragon (maybe after the scene of him being shot at while scampering across a roof?), and the Imperium comes to take him. 14 minutes ago, a guy from somewhere said: I also want to point out the shots at 0.13 and 0.14 are probably Arin and sora inside the imperium freight train, as the still of rapton shows he is fighting someone. If this was the first time he was laying eyes on the bounty he would be more confused at a flying pirate ship I think. I am not sure that he would be confused, given the level of technology that he and the Imperium are working with. I also am not sure that he is happy to be getting revenge on the Ninja as much as he is happy to finally have caught Baby Dragon (and A&S). Rapton is visible in the shot of the Dragon Hunter Hound's powerup, the bridge scene, and the train scene, so he is probably tired of chasing them at this point! 13 minutes ago, a guy from somewhere said: Wonder what would happen if the ninja got their hands on some chi? I would love to see Chi integrated into Ninjago; not only would it give the characters a new kind of powerup (and associated line of gimmick sets), the concept of a natural energy source called "chi" fits the setting of Ninjago quite well. 11 minutes ago, bluedog1111 said: Interestingly Lego also recently renewed the copyright to manufacture sets using stuff from the Chima IP which isn't significant in it's own right however Lego hasn't done that for other of it's retired themes like monster hunters. I doubt they would go with full on sets, and Dreamzzz is right around the corner so they're not about to make a new theme. So why would they renew the copyright? https://euipo.europa.eu/eSearch/#details/trademarks/010955061 Expiry date is 11th of June. I wonder why? Quote

Ive got my own story im creating (not lego related) where a group of friends must traverse a shattered realm in search of a clan of demons called "technomancers". I feel like technomancer works well for Sora, especially when she is seen with her hood and mask up. Magnitism also seems like a step in the right direction. I dont think it would be anything tech related fits an elemental ability as we knew they where around in a time before technology so that wouldn't make much sense. In all reality though this is a merging of all the realms, a lot of which we haven't seen before. It could quite literally be anything. Quote

I love seeing sets in prelim form, even after they have released as it gives us a view into the sets production life, some of which are really cool and unique but way to crazy for lego to put on shelves.
