I…. Actually really like this. But I feel a lot won’t. If anything, this will be the most controversial change. The weekend whip is what ties Ninjago to many people, nostalgia wise. I hope this doesn’t get as much pushback as I’m thinking it will. Personally the OG weekend whip has never really resonated with me, only on a nostalgic term, the remix’s though, they’re amazing (ghost whip and pirate whips my beloved). 
Also can we talk about the shots in this!! Holy crap! Some really impressive animation work and I love how this looks so far. Extremely confused on what’s happening with the bounty merge scene now. Looks like new Lloyd is fighting old Kai? And there’s a Kai there in his new suit? Maybe there’s some time/dream stuff here.

Just watching it in slow mo now. Lot to unpack. Looks like the bounty with Arin onboard flys towards the merge, wonder if this is some alternative timeline stuff. Also there’s a bone king racer mech at 0:46, that’s funny. 
The visuals in this new show are incredible. The city, the nature, the vehicles. Bravo to the animation team, this is crazy.
Also Raptons flyer looks amazing, I’m gonna have to build my own version of that. We were robbed with that transforming mech bike set, but I guess it had to be stable enough. Gonna need a complete revamp when I get my hands on it. Looks like Riyus parents show up as well. Lloyd gets a golden version of the EVO mechs from crystalized, I wonder if it’s the one from that core set. The old bounty appears in the same shot, along with Kai in his Imperium suit. But then we see him fighting Lloyd after. Sora can break imperium swords as well. We also see Kai in his core suit and Lloyd in his imperium suit in the monastery watching the merge happen. I definitely think this is something like “this is what I would change” scenario. Lloyd looks pretty ticked off.

hopefully this song gets a Spotify release.

The comics must be canon. Wonder if the quest for the Bone Weapons will be mentioned?

 

Since Dragons Rising is rated for very young children (same age rating as Paw Patrol), I assume the good guys will end up turning the bad guys good eventually after a few seasons, since they can't kill them like they could with the Iron Baron/Harumi/Kalmaar.

Since Sora can get a power up by having the friendship of a dragon, The Rimpirium will probably eventually become protectors of the dragons to share their power as friends instead of trying to take it by force.

That’s a bit of a bummer but we should compare this really to paw patrol (I say that knowing I’ve never seen a single episode of that show). Hopefully the leads find a creative way for this. I did hope for a more darker and grittier season so maybe in the next reboot?

Yes, although from what we've seen so far I doubt it will be as bad as that. It cant be that bad right? Besides, we know the first episode will probably have some more mature terms, I mean they just chucked the bench Arins parents where sat on right next to him after the merge. I hope we dont get a generic "all the villains become good" ending. They said they had planned it all out.

To be fair, dreamzzz is also rated TV-Y, and it's very comparable to the "wildbrain era" in terms of tone, gets dark sometimes, but is still got a more lighthearted tone

How do we know it's rated TV-Y? 

Previous Ninjago series were rated TV-Y7, and the creators said that new series is more mature, so I don't see why the age rating would be lower?

Netflix seems to have removed the rating, this image was from tannerfishies

Guys I think we should calm down a little on this for a few reasons:

Warning: This contains spoilers for the season. Go to your own risk…

Also if you don’t mind spoilers or already know about them, please share your opinion on this, it would be very appreciated.

1-Why would they redeem the villains ?

I don’t know if you have seen the latest leaks about some characters of the show, so one of the main villains called empress Beatrix, basically had betrayed her twin sister with the help of Ras by stolen the throne of her. So right from that I don’t see a redemption unless the creators get really crazy… I mean this is a really evil thing to be redeemed. 

2- Ras is secretly working for a secret master.

I don’t see Ras being redeemed either because well, he is lying for the Imperium by using his sources for his secret master… Again, I don’t see a traitor being redeemed or change his heart for unknown reasons that doesn’t make sense. 

3- If there will be redeemed villains which I really doubt, it will only be the minions.

Again I don’t see any possibility of Rapton being redeemed either, because he really doesn’t seem the type of guy who would have a change of heart simply because he believes that Imperium is the best about hunting dragons so, again don’t see him change his mind… But obviously if one of these will change, my bet would be only on the minions and at the hardest possibility: Rapton….

I wonder why nobody who would typically have Markets has it...not even Brickset. Usually when a reveal happens they have a review ready to go. The only person I follow on Instagram who, finally, has one is Tiago...and that was recently.

They all shipped with the dragons rising wave, and they tried to do the whole “reveal it on the day before release and have reviews ready” thing with the gardens and it got leaked like weeks in advance from back of stores and catalogs. I think Lego was learning from past mistakes this time.

As long as they don't reuse same villains for each dragons rising wave, it's ok
Since i'm kinda worried that imperium is going to be entire show's villain faction, which will reduce villain diversity in sets dramastically. core atleast could introduce new villains
Ngl bone warriors looked so cool, i thought core will finally do better things. Oh well..

Could very well be, but you’d think that would be across the board. Weirdos.  I did see a YouTuber who finally got it, along with City sets...oddly enough. No review, it was just an unboxing video. I don’t even read reviews of sets I plan on buying I just found it strange. The last one I remember was with Rivendell. All the social media folks I follow had it in hand when it was revealed.

I’m pretty sure everyone in the LAN has got it, but are not allowed to review it or post pics of it out of the box (like Tiago) until the embargo date, which seems to be the 21st or 22nd.

Well here it is, I finally got the parts needed to finish the dragon, and as theres a bit of a vacuum till the 22nd I thought I'd show this guy off. Edit- for clarification this is the azure dragon in the new bounty set. Obviously its not perfect, ive had to make several changes due to my parts limitation, most notably the lack of front evo joint legs, the brand new (unreleased) 3 x 3 head piece and the colour (I dont have that much azure available sadly). Ive swapped out the cannons for the old stud shooters but it’s not much of a difference. It does feel like a very nice and substantial build, my only complaints would be how the back legs work out and and the launcher on the back, theres a pretty big gap between the dragons back and the seat. This is not because its built wrong, but an actual limitation for the set as there aren't many system bricks the account for the 'lip' on the middle of a technic pin. Finally, the wings are a bit small but due to it needing to fit in the bounty I understand. Unfortunately they do restrict the turret movement to just firing ahead when the wings are folded all the way up, the way it’s meant to fit inside the forward cargo hold of the ship. 

Apart from what I have previously outlined, the dragon is built brick for brick from the set, thanks to JBspielwarren posting a speed build of it. A bit of a pain to constantly pause and watch at the slowest speed YouTube allows but I got there in the end. One final thing to note, this thing is BIG, like chuck in another figure and a side build and you have a £20 set here, it definitely adds to the bounty. I could see it going up against the imperium hound. Overall, very happy with it, although that may just be me being biased. Hope you guys enjoyed my little build, its kind of cool to have something in hand before it releases. Kinda?

That's cool! I didn't get it when i looked at it first, but then i did read this is bounty's dragon but in red
Very nice addition, also good that you mentiod it's bigger than it looks on set pics and can rival the hound. Size comparsion is difficul to tell sometimes

This is more unlikely than Chima being back IMO. No way are they gonna pull the old overlord out again. Not unless we have a season 3 situation. I think the secret master is the Rempress, that seems pretty obvious.
