Front part of hood is to flat for my taste and to flat in comparisson to modern tractors that I saw IRL.

Looking forward since I get constantly distracted from building...

Since no one has recognized it till now, probably a lot things need to be redesigned:pir-bawling:

It is a Case Magnum and It looks like this now. As always, feedback is very welcomed.

@1gor Thanks for the feedback, I may try to use some more 2x3 panel at the hood:sweet:

Perhaps this hood idea could help you (very vrry similar slope...)

Looking at 2023 Magnum 400, upper hood line is best simulated with curved 3 x 13 panel (like I made on latest Fastrac incarnation...)

@1gorThanks a lot for the suggestion buddy, your solution is quite inspiring. To let the parts at left and right side of the 3x13 panel follow the curve of the panel seems to be challenging. I noticed that your solution at 2022 is quite different from the solution at 2020. I will definitely try that.

The 3x13 tapered panels (narrow version of the 5x13 ones) would be nice there, but no red yet.

Yes, and haven't got those panels on hand yet, it will be great if they can match the curve of the 3x13 straight panels

Yes it is; a kind of evolution. Major evolution for me was to find out (the hard way) that every PF V2 receiver (I have 4 of them) works on one chanel with following coupled motor(s) combination:

- 2 x PF large + Servo or

- 2 x PF XL × PF large or medium (won't work with Servo)

(Even Buggy motor works fine on one channel and Medium motor on another for steering)

...when I use train battery box or rechargible battery box because I have no space...

I would gladly help when I can

Thanks again. Currently I aim to have only one motor for drive and one for steering, the internal space is really limited with the 4 wheel drive and 2 speed gearbox kept. Maybe will try add more motors in following models:pir_tong2:

Currently I'm testing this prototype...

If I managed to make steering with powerfunctions medium motor, then I can use buggy motor instead of large motors...

When tested running it, this thing came up to my mind :pir_tong2: I think I will make one anyway although there is no good tires fit for it...

On the other hand, instruction is in good progress

If you use powerfunctions and train battery box you can sqweeze more motors inside chassis.

When I find additional time, I'll post what I mean in my topic, so perhaps I could give you some ideas...

Autonomous Case IH could be better idea for MOC

Hi everyone,

I've finished my first motorized tractor MOC: Case Magnum

Features:

  • Drive by one C+ L motor
  • Steering by one  C+ L motor with steering wheel connected
  • Manually switchable between 4WD/low speed and RWD/high speed modes
  • Pivotable solid front axle
  • Adjustable front hitch
  • Adjustable rear hitch
  • Front and rear PTO connected to drivetrain
  • Detailed interior and decorations
  • Modular design and building experience

As mentioned at the beginning of this project, the C+ hub will be put on some implement at the back, will work on that real soon, please stay tuned

Yes, and I choose to leave more RC functions and possibly a suspended front axle to this project: :pir_tong2:

It has a 3L longer wheel base, which may help accommodate more functions.

As a following up to the wheeled version Magnum, its real world cousin, Magnum Rowtrac is now finished.

As their real world counter part, the tracked version is modified from the wheeled one. While the front half of the tractor and the cabin remain the same, the other parts, like rear chassis, rear fenders, central saddle area and of course, the rear tracks are newly designed.

The rear track is designed to act as closely as the real one, it is rather complex. As a result, the tracked version has 300 more pieces than the wheeled one(60 of them are track parts).

Features:

  • Drive by one C+ L motor
  • Steering by one  C+ L motor with steering wheel connected
  • Manually switchable between 4WD/low speed and RWD/high speed modes
  • Pivotable solid front axle
  • Pivotable lower portion of the rear track
  • Adjustable front hitch
  • Adjustable rear hitch
  • Front and rear PTO connected to drivetrain
  • Detailed interior and decorations
  • Modular design and building experience

Video: will shoot a video shorterly after

Rowtrac is really beautifull; you are tempting me to make motorized version (and sturdier and a bit smaller) of my Case IH Terratrac that I made over decade ago...

It is definitely worth trying! I do feel that the new parts in recent years help a LOT in building MOCs. I don't think I can build these tractors 5 years ago.

Yes, new reduction hubs and tractor tires are game charger. New flip-flop liftarms help a lot.

...only my models use Powerfunctions because I want to use all Lego rc components without smart devices

Red or blue, which one do you prefer? :pir_laugh2:

1280x591.jpg

Finally finished this, it took much longer than I've anticipated. The biggest change is now the front L motor is for steering while the rear one is for driving which is the opposite on my Magnum. The front motor now sits more till the rear to leave space for the hood. To be honest, the motor position is too much towards foward is one of the reason I chose to build a Magnum:pir_tong2: Now more possibilies are enabled based on the new holland chassis.

Other changes include:

Front axle is now suspensed

Front hitch can self-lock which is only relying on friction before

Both are nice models. I must say that the hood looks much better in the profile shot of the New Holland than when viewed from an angle. I think it might have to do with the black pieces at the front of the hood. Would be interesting to see what it would look like all blue. Also I am not too fond of the exhaust of the IH. Looks a bit too bulky.

Non the less, you have done a great job with these tractors managing to fit a lot of function into a rather small package. Very well done!
