falconluan Posted November 30, 2022 Author Posted November 30, 2022 (edited) #2 CLAAS Axion Terra Trac As its real world counter part, it is easily modified from a normal wheeled Axion 900 . The modified area is rear axle, central area and rear fender(the track is longer while lower than wheel, so the tank is moved from center to the rear fender position) . Features: Pivoted solid front axle Pivoted rear track HOG steering Adjustable front hitch Adjustable rear hitch Rear PTO connected directly with rear differential Modular design: chassis, rear hitch, cabin are built separately Instructions on RB: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-130219/ Video introduction is on the way More Pics at: bricksafe link A closer look at the rear track: Thanks for watching! mpj Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Nice variant! I've bought the instructions for the wheeled version and planning to build it with some little mods. Quote

I like it a lot, thanks for your input! In the model there are 4 not-Lego parts (rear wheels), because TLG doesn't produce them in the right colour. Quote
Thirdwigg Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Great update @mpj to a great tractor by @falconluan. It's a shame those rear wheels don't come in red. Maybe someday..... Quote

falconluan Posted August 15, 2023 Author Posted August 15, 2023 Am building some new tractors now. This time I chose New Holland T7 and Steyr Terrus, and maybe include Case IH Optum in the end as well, since they are more all less the same tractor The chassis is largely based on my Claas Axion with some improvements while the cabin, hood, fenders are newly designed. Took a dozen of iterations on the Steyr hood and still not pleased with it, so any suggestion is very welcomed. Quote
falconluan Posted August 23, 2023 Author Posted August 23, 2023 Hi everyone, Finally I've finished the third one of the series: New holland T7 Heavy Duty Features: Pivotable solid front axle HOG steering Adjustable front hitch Adjustable rear hitch Rear PTO connected directly with rear differential Detailed interior and decorations Modular design: chassis, rear hitch, cabin are built separately The hood and chassis are based on my Claas Axion with some improvements and reinforcements. The cabin and fenders are all newly designed. Comparing with Axion, the rear fenders are mounted half stud higher thus completely eliminated the possibility of touching the rear tires. Scale-wise, this MOC is larger than a 1:32 model as it shows in the comparison pics. Instruction at RB is here More pics are at here Hope you like it. Now I'm working on its real world siblings: Steyr Terrus and Case IH Optum, stay tuned if you are interested. Quote
1gor Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 There are white rims also if you know They are cute Quote

And pity that we don't have 7L soft axle in blue and that's why I'm using dark blue and LBG combination here. I'll use the white rims in my Steyr MOC of course. Quote

Yup, the Blue Power version is indeed coloured dark blue & silver whereas ordinary models are blue & white. I have to agree it looks absolutely great! (though it would be even better with rear tractor tyres in the right size...) It would be nice to see more tractors (and other agricultural equipment) in such scale. Haven't you thought of some kind of attachment? Quote

Thanks @MP LEGO Technic creations and finger crossed that TLG would release some 72mm tractor tires someday... 20 hours ago, MP LEGO Technic creations said: Haven't you thought of some kind of attachment? Currently no, but I'm thinking of making some trailed fertilizer spreader or baler. It works well with @Thirdwigg's great looking dump trailer like below: The trailer is free and you can get the trailer in RB here. Thanks @Thirdwigg and hope you don't mind my reference Edited August 24, 2023 by falconluan Quote

mpj Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Love the New Holland and the Steyr! Now missing a John Deere and a Fendt Quote

falconluan Posted August 26, 2023 Author Posted August 26, 2023 Hi everyone, I've finished the forth one of the series: Steyr Terrus Features: Pivotable solid front axle HOG steering Adjustable front hitch Adjustable rear hitch Rear PTO connected directly with rear differential Detailed interior and decorations Modular design: chassis, rear hitch, cabin are built separately Just like it's real world counter part, Steyr Terrus and New Holland T7 are basically siblings, so the cabin, fenders and chassis of this tractor are same as my New Holland T7. The hood is newly designed. Scale-wise, this MOC is larger than a 1:32 model as it shows in pics. Instruction at RB is here More pics are at here Hope you like it. Now I'm working on their other real world sibling: Case IH Optum, stay tuned if you are interested. Quote
falconluan Posted January 2, 2024 Author Posted January 2, 2024 (edited) After some break, I started my larger scale tractor moc series. By saying larger scale, I mean using 81mm front tyre and 107mm back tyre. Even at this scale, the available internal space is rather limited, so I started from a full manual moc and maybe would add some electric and/or pneumatic functions to following mocs. Managed to build a proto chassis and this is what I've got so far: I'm trying to replica real tractor drivetrain layout like below as best as I can. Now it has: Four wheel drive with central diff and accelerated front axle Front and back PTO connected directly to engine(I know there is no engine yet) Pivoting front axle As to the target tractor model, I chose the MF 6400/7400 this time, hope you like it. As always, any suggestions, ideas, comments are welcomed! Edited January 2, 2024 by falconluan Quote
1gor Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 To use 4wd with 81 mm at front and 107mm rear, you have to use 12 to 28 tooth at front differential (as you made) but use 20 to 28 tooth at rear because rear tire has bigger rolling circumference (front 81mm × 3.14, rear 107 x 3.14) Quote

1gor Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 Probably your colir combination blinded me; another thing - this chasdis will be a tail dragger or sled...tractors have a bit raized rear part and rear axle should be just one stud higher (107 - 81 = 26; 26 / 2 = 13 mm which is 1.625 studs -> 13 / 8) Quote
Jundis Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 Very cool you started a tractor with this wheel combination :-) From my first attempts for a John Deere 8R, I use a height difference of 1.5 studs. It's a little bit unconvenient to build, but looks better than the 2 stud height difference, IMHO. Quote

Thank you guys for the height suggestion 1.5 studs diff seems to be a hard thing to achieve based on my current setup, no universal connector in the drivetrain. Any further suggestion? I'll think about it as well... Quote
