May 2, 20231 yr I've not seen any chatter about this set, or maybe I missed it CREATOR land rover defender for $18.99 CDN (maybe 14-15 USD). https://www.lego.com/en-ca/product/land-rover-classic-defender-40650
May 2, 20231 yr This one is pretty cool: Further new reveals: 40641: Birthday Cake 40643: Jade Rabbit 40647: Lotus Flowers 40649: Upscaled LEGO Minifigure
May 6, 20231 yr Author Love the land rover, my only speed champion sets were the F40 and 911 from the 6 wide era (didn't collect before that), and this is a nice model. The area around the headlights look to be a printed 2x2 jumper tile, which is interesting. I do like the main street as well, even while it's quite shallow, it's a bit overshadowed by buildings from Friends and City releasing at the same time. Edited May 6, 20231 yr by TeriXeri
May 6, 20231 yr Author Been looking more at the Main Street, and it certainly has a lot of 3d texture on the outer walls, which obviously takes a large chunk out of the piece count. Also while the buildings do have technic pin holes , they don't look directly compatible with the previous generation of 3-in-1 builds without moving some pin hole locations around. I still like the set, but doesn't feel like one of those "get more for the alternate builds" type of sets, mainly because of very strong offerings from City and Friends. (especially if you consider the amount of interior space on the Friends community center for almost same price, while keeping a highly detailed exterior) Edited May 6, 20231 yr by TeriXeri
May 15, 20231 yr Author With that Technic Bugatti Bolide coming in a recolor in June, it makes that rumoured recolor for the 3-in-1 parrot set more likely. The set name has the new color in it : 42162: Bugatti Bolide Agile Blue And 31144 is also called Exotic Pink Parrot, indicating the recolor. Of course no indication when, but the set number is a regular 3-in-1 number ,and not a GWP number like last year's Mystic Witch. Edited May 15, 20231 yr by TeriXeri
May 15, 20231 yr It would make a lot of sense for them to just recolour 31136, although I wonder if they'll have to tweak anything to account for the other builds? Would the fish and frog work quite so well in pink? Maybe red and pink tones together would be more accurate/appropriate? Either way, a pink parrot would be nice with the blue and the Bricklink kakapo.
May 27, 20231 yr Author Quite a mix of sets retiring this year (or at least on those End of Life list) including surprisingly Viking Ship , with the still unrevealed IDEAS viking village. (altho if it's rumoured to be october release, there'll be a period of overlap) Pirate Ship and Castle seem to have another year at least (from what's known), as those aren't listed. Hopefully with the retirement of the beach house and noodle shop, at least another mid-range "Downtown" building will appear. Edited May 27, 20231 yr by TeriXeri
June 1, 20231 yr Author 31144: Exotic Pink Parrot has pictures now, and I absolutely love the colors. Instead of pastels, or a straight color swap from blue to pink, LEGO went bold the "Scarlet Macaw" inspired pattern. (the flowers did get the pastel colors which is nice for contrast) I don't mind that it's not red / realistic, and seeing more Dark Pink pieces used is nice. Edited June 1, 20231 yr by TeriXeri
June 1, 20231 yr I built the blue one just last night and loved it. Definitely going to get this. It looks great. Sort of scales, ish, with the BDP kakapo and they look great together.
June 1, 20231 yr Author I know it's early, but with the 2022 Tiger and 2023 Rabibit, but I already look forward to a possible Dragon Zodiac set for 2024 year of the dragon. Perhaps an opportunity for LEGO to dedicate a set to the LEGO stores style dragon design (also seen on the 2023 new years parade set) Edited June 1, 20231 yr by TeriXeri
June 2, 20231 yr Love the pink pieces for building, hate the pink pieces on the scarlet macaw. It’s just wrong.

It looks better on the box cover than in real. I will change them to the ones from set 60267. That should look better. Edited June 10, 20231 yr by The Reader

July 30, 20231 yr I really like the space roller coaster, but I already have the pirate one, and I don't know if this is sufficiently different to warrant getting it too.

Me too. The track layout is more interesting. The pirate roller coaster was just a big circle with one elevated half. But the space roller coaster has less parts and much smaller entrance building. It's a shame there is no set in Creator this year that continues the trend of pirate ship, castle and viking boat from last years: a big Creator set with historical background that evokes memories of classic Lego themes from the past. August 1, 20231 yr Bought the Space Coaster yesterday and have just about finished building it. Its a cool set and a fun build and exactly the sort of thing LEGO should be doing more of. Although LEGO really needs to include a warning with this part https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=54930c01 to tell people not to stare directly at the part.

I agree but it probably has to do with having the Pirate Ship and Castle still available with no retirement date yet. Viking Ship is listed as retiring at the end of this year (kind of strange with the release of Viking Village coming up but perhaps vikings are quite a lot more niche compared to the decades of Castle/Pirate sets) I'd like to see 3-in-1 do more sci-fi space , maybe with the retirement of 31111: Cyber Drone there will be some non-"NASA" space set again, however for 3-in-1 there looks to be some kind of "buildable astronaut" set on the horizon, perhaps a set like the buildable big minifgure but space-themed with alternate builds.
