So I have been working on this huge rock arch for a couple of months now. The two bases are 51 bricks high and build up with a mix of normal stacking and SNOT-technique. The bridge part is removable for transport and made of technic Lego supported by brackets on the sides and held together with plates. It's really super strong.

And the best part is I got four sides to work on as the bridge has studs on all four sides. Making it possible to create the arch shape. On top is a jungle path, as there will be acces from hanging bridges leading to other similar mountains later on.

Path is 144 studs long, 3 baseplates (48x48) and height is 70 bricks.

I will be sure to post some updates later on.

It's all part of a much larger pirate layout with water and islands.

Lovely progress ye have made! :pir-love:

One thing comes to me mind seeing that arch, perhaps ye can add that for extra detail:

The scene from the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, where Jack passes by hanged pirate skeletons.

This looks intriguing! :pir-thumb:

Will this layout be displayed somewhere in public?

Thanks! I thought about doing something like that. However this is not the only arch in the display. Might just do the Pirate hanging near the Imperial fortress when I get there ☠️

It should be ready for Skærbæk fanweekend in september in Denmark.

Here's the rest. In the upper left corner of the picture is where the big arch starts.

This looks truly amazing! I just wish for the amount of dark bley slopes required for this!!!

Thanks! I did not yet open the big bags in the storage yet as I bought 5000 of each of the different types of slopes 🙈

But yes it's very part consuming also for plates and regular bricks in dark bluish gray. And then comes the fillers that I buy secondhand by weight 😋

Wonderful job. Don't forget to post us some pics of the whole display... Can't wait to see such a promise.

Any chance to see King Kong or a Leviathan ? :pir-sweet:

I will make sure to bring the updates for sure! Suddenly nice to read peoples comments on here! Really great with a community that can appreciate the fun of building Lego :pir-love:
There will be a Kraken in the water. And it will lift out the Black Pearl with the tentecles. So I'm gonna build a new Black Pearl with a rounded hull that would normally be below the waterline, but because it's liftet out I will get the below part visible too. So that should really be something :pir-skel:

That's so massive and majestic!! I'm looking forward to see the progress and the finished project.

Thanks! It's quite fun seeing it moving forward.

Now pretty much just need to finish the sides and the arch is done. Im waiting for a bricklink order and I will cover all studs on the sides. In the meantime Sonic had a run at it.

Really impressive! The giant arch is a masterpiece

So you plan to add the Black Pearl and a imperial fortress. Will there also be some kind of port and town?

Thanks! :pir_laugh2: the plan is 6x8 baseplates (48x48) with majority ocean. (I filled 38 cups of the trans light blue tiles in the pab wall :pir-cry_sad:)

One end of the layout has the arch and a couple of more tall rocky islands, connected with wooden bridges. And the other end will have a a huge white fortress with a nearby pier and hopefully a town. Although houses was never my strong force.

Apart from that will be somewhere between 4-8 large ships. Some in the port some sailing around :jollyroger:

It would be epic to see a ship sailing through there :pir-sweet:.

Following the planning of layout from above there will be a bit smaller ship sailing through underneath the arch.

Im thinking about the small boat from the 3-in-1 creator pirate ship that comes with the skull island build. That ship extended in length and the sails from the Ninjago cannibals as Im already using their shields with same logo :pir-huzzah1:
