Posted December 20, 20222 yr The briefer concludes her presentation on the location of the suspected radioactive cargo lost by Tosul. The usual buoyant atmosphere in the room is muted. The men remember it was Tosul agents that slaughtered their comrades in Antarctica recently. One operator gruffly asks, "If we're supposed to get there by water, I don't see how a submarine insertion will beat a Tosul team." As if on cue, the door opens and a familiar face appears. "Gerard le Brique!" barks the team leader as he grabs his submachine gun from the table. "Oui. I'm on your side now," le Brique calmly states. "Your Ministry of State Secrets has offered me a position helping your efforts. In return, I'm not languishing in your gulag." ********** The go-fast boat the MSS provided to reformed pirate Gerand le Brique pulled in close to the rugged cliff line. Quickly, the team lead fired a grappling hook up. Operatives quickly climbed the rope up to the top of the cliff. The men set up a defensive perimeter while one man checks for radiation with a Geiger counter. Hearing only a few random clicks, the radiation specialist reports, "All clear!" "Aircraft inbound!" the team lead cries, pointing to the west. Their heavy weapons man quickly identifies it. "Tosul short field cargo aircraft," he calmly states while beginning to track it with his 8G456 IR MANPADS. "Take 'em down." Sneering, the MANPADS operator listens for the tone, then squeezes the trigger. In a burst of gas and flame, the infrared seeking missile launches at the twin-engine cargo aircraft. As the missile operator tracks his target, he sees specks drop from the doomed airplane. "Jumpers in the air," he says. "I count five." As the chutes billow out, the team lead chuckles. "Four chutes." "Light those Megablock sons o' Playmobile up!" the leader orders. The others cut down the paratroopers before they have the chance to reach the ground. With the immediate threat eliminated, the radiation specialist and heavy weapons man begin moving the armoured canister of highly enriched uranium. With care, they lower it on the rope to the go-fast boat. The instant the final operative is onboard, Gerard pushed up the throttles on his go-fast boat. The twin engines howl as they rapidly accelerate to nearly 80 knots on the light seas.
December 20, 20222 yr Excellent build, excellent story. The landscape itself is very impressive and is already a winner in my book. I like the brick built parachute design as well.
December 21, 20222 yr Finally, Parachutes! Feuer, you're a genius. I have just spent ten minutes just looking at those beautiful brick-built bastards. Everything else is also very cool, I especially like the ice cream for the watersplashing. I rate it ten parachutes out of ten.

It's being built for another project, but seemed perfect to use for this too. 4 hours ago, Mirror1810 said: Finally, Parachutes! Feuer, you're a genius. I rate it ten parachutes out of ten. Danke. Once I decided the military round style parachutes weren't going to be doable, it all clicked (pun intended). Sports parachutes are more rectangular and easy to fit in LEGO dimensions. The biggest issue is center of gravity. If the CG isn't right, the parachute bends the minifig over at the waist. I managed to get a handful of ice cream parts at a Pick A Brick wall about a year ago. I didn't know what I'd use them for until I needed to build a cliff. Adding the waterfall, they seemed perfect for the spray. And the plume out of the back of the SAM.
December 23, 20222 yr Nice scene, love the cliffs, and the story overall, well done. I would have put some more wreckage at the crash site, but the overall build is spot on.

I needed room for the MANPADS launch though.
