Any new characters would've been nice, be it Maria and Gerald, Team Chaotix or Cream and Cheese. But I think that TLG is very reluctant while introducing any new Sonic characters to the line. We don't know anything for sure, but may hope for the best...

I lost hope for movie-based Sonic sets already...

I don't think so. If we count Super sonic and Super Shadow (who aren't new characters but are totally different designs) then they've introduced a new character every wave and three new characters every year.

2023 - Eggman, Amy, Tails (Sonic himself predates the theme thanks to dimensions and then Ideas but the brick built Eggman was a minifig so he doesn't)

2024 - Shadow, Knuckles Rogue (+ Super Sonic)

2025 - Metal Sonic ,(+ Super Shadow)

Now I'm not saying Lego will follow this pattern, but I do think we will get more new characters in the summer wave. A little Chao piece would be fun. But I reckon the biggest character missing is Big the Cat. But personally I'd be happy to see any of the Sonic Heroes cast.

Yes, Big totally needs a bigfigure new mold... And a new mold for Froggy, since using the old regular frog would be a wrong thing to do, at least I think so

After lego made a BioLizard I think this line is crazy enough to give us most of the stuff.

Just say it outloud 5 years ago. "a Lego Biolizard playset where you smash the button and super sonic hits the Biolizard and makes a part of it fly out" - it would sound unrealistic. But we got it. I wouldn't be surprised if we will get Mighty or other characters.

The only problem is Bigfig ones (Hector/Big)... i think Lego is kind of careful with super exclusive big figs these days. Dr.Eggman is kind of a bigfig but he's a very important key character that is supposed to appear in many sets. But don't get me wrong - i'm very much hoping that we will get Big the Cat. That new Jakks Pacific action figure of him was amazing and I hope to get a Lego version!

Big I can imagine would take up most, if not, all of the yearly budget for new characters due to how large he is, so he might be off the table for a while until we get more of the smaller characters out the way

I don't think Big would need to be much larger than Eggman. I'm not sure how big they are supposed to be relative to each other, but Lego's scale for minifigures is already wonky.

• 77005: Knuckles vs Dr. Eggman Egg Crusher Mech
• 77006: Team Sonic Command Truck

Not sure how to feel about them, but they sound like they have potential

The only thing I can thing of is the G.U.N Truck. But then Lego doesn’t really do anything military related.

To be honest, the GUN truck isn't really a military truck - it's just a huge scary truck, so I don't really see the problem. Even the GUN troopers can be made as Lego minifigures, I think - and even if they can't, ACU guards from Jurassic world can replace them effectively

Throwing it out here as speculation, what if it's actually the Egg Breaker and 'Egg Crusher' is a nameswap. As that mech was recently brought back for Shadow: Dark Beginnings.

Not sure the main source, but is listed on Jedijac Penguins list for 2025.

77005 probably has 2-3 figures, if we're lucky then maybe a cheaper way to get Robotnik, but not expecting much from that set.

77006 intrigues me due to the piece count vs pricing, Egg Driller had 590 pieces for $79.99 yet this set has 747 pieces seemingly for $59.99? Not really expecting new figures if the pricing is low compared to piece count.

Sonic as a theme has: Robotnik, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Rouge, Metal Sonic, Super Sonic, Super Shadow

• The characters in bold are in the January wave of 2025 sets
• The characters underlined are expected to be in the two August sets
• The characters in italic have been recently released so don't desperately need to be re-released in the August sets, but may still feature.

The only set we've had with Rouge was released January 1st 2024 and all the 2023 sets retired after 1 year 5 months if that happens again this time then that set will retire before these two new sets. So I would'nt be surprised if Rouge is included in one of these two sets to ensure Sonic fans can collect all the characters - in a similar regards we'd probably see the Master Emerald brought back as there's a 'collect the Chaos Emeralds' gimmick with the 2025 sets each featuring a Chaos Emerald.

If we're getting a new character then it'd probably be in the more expensive set, but the piece count is seemingly really good for the pricing so I doubt it.

If they want an easy new character then Emperor Metallix would work well, just a red/gold Metal Sonic, and would work to persuade people to army build Metal Sonic if they have familiarity with the character.

As in Ray the Flying Squirrel case, I seriously doubt TLG will make a minifigure of such an obscure character. In fact, Ray has more chances due to being from games (albeit old ones), Metallix is from old comic books

I also think that Team Sonic truck is TLG's original creation

Team Sonic truck could be the G.U.N Truck from Adventure 2 (Likely the Generations one gimmick wise)
But they can't call it that cause of Lego's policy. 

Granted would make more sense if it was Team Sonic vs Command Truck.

When I think of team Sonic I think of Team Sonic racing. Unless it’s based from that.

It would be VERY funny for Lego to make a set based on Team Sonic Racing the same year they do F1 and Mario Kart, but I sort of doubt that's what it is.

i cant wait to see a 2nd set with the master emerald and rouge. i hope we get that sometime in jan 2026 or aug 2026 if she isnt in a set in summer 2025
