Black Doom and the Black Arms, anyone? Sure, they only appeared once in a game that isn't popular among fans, but I personally would've been very glad to see them in official sets. 

Also, while I am not looking forward to seeing IDW characters in Lego, but this still may be a nice idea.

The IDW comics aren't that well known compared to the games themselves, but I'm willing to give them a chance since not only have the characters from IDW appeared in a few mobile games but a few other merch lines too. Besides, getting Whisper and Tangle in a set together would honestly be dope

If we're gonna follow the logic of 4 characters a year and completing the important trios, my personal choices would go along the lines of

• A $20 set themed around Night Chase from Riders with Sonic, Jet and a Motobug
• A $30 set themed around Ghost Town from Forces with Tails, Knuckles, Omega and an Eggpawn (Omega would be brick-built)
• A $50 set themed around Seaside Hill from Heroes with Big, Amy and a flapper

Not the most realistic expectations, but it's still one step closer to completing the trios save for the Babylon Rogues since Wave and Storm aren't as popular as Jet to warrant minifigures

Well, glad to know I managed to fool one person today haha

But on the flip side, getting Silver first sounds just as plausible with the only issue being what kind of set he'd appear in where it would be justified

The Shadow the Hedgehog head set was just revealed and... I'm an optimist, but I'm also a realist. And this is REALly one of the worst display sets LEGO has ever made. The spikes look fine (not great, but fine), but everything about the face is just terrible, from the balloon cover center to the studded eyes to the barrel nose to the choppy muzzle. If LEGO couldn't come up with a remotely good design here, they shouldn't have wasted the set slot.

On the bright side, this is a really accurate model of Shadow's head from that one Pakistan Happy Meal commercial.

I was kinda hoping for something like the weird influencers sonic eggman they sent out. Not this.

It is very funny though.

I can see what they were going for with hot-air balloon panel but those sorts of awkward seams are much more forgivable on mechanical things than organic. Especially creatures.

Weird to do shadow before Sonny himself? But this funnier so I can respect that.

I kinda wanna get it just because I think it's very funny. But it doesn't look good so I'm not willing to pay much. But if I see it significantly discounted ( which I can't see why I wouldn't be ( sorry)) then I'll get it.

For both the scale and concept I think they did a decent job. But why? He's so. No word after so just so. He's so very so. The So-est, the most so. He really is so.

Agreed. I think the ideal for a Sonic display model would be buildable characters similar to the large Mickey and Minnie from a few years ago - Sonic and friends were designed as rubberhose characters, so that style of figure would fit perfectly. Plus, there would already be a prefab piece they could use for the forehead and eyes rather than the... INTERESTING solution LEGO came up with for ol' Shads here.

I imagine it's because SEGA is marketing 2024 as the "Fearless Year of Shadow", with the character getting a major role in the third movie, a major expansion to Sonic Generations, and an animated miniseries. SEGA probably asked for a Shadow-themed display piece, which led to the decapitated edgehog we can see.

This . . this . . I actually don’t hate it. Like, it’s awful and pointless and a waste of a set slot, but I’ve grown so numb to these weird display models that this one in particular kind of just wraps around to being hilarious. 
I don’t know why, but all I can think is Mario Galaxy 2, specifically the ‘face-ship’, and how much I suddenly want to install a cockpit or something and have Shadow (or his biggest fan) ride around in a giant floating effigy. If/when this goes on discount, I might try it, just as a joke MOC.

Recently got my hands on the Master Emerald Shrine and the Egg Drillster, they're pretty good sets with a handful of pros and cons, mostly pros

• Master Emerald Shrine

The minifigures included are fine, but it is nice to get a more angry looking Knuckles and atleast one appearance of Amy this year, so I'm not gonna talk about them too much. The EggRobo is surprisingly well made despite the fact it should have been saved for a classic era set, with a good amount of building techniques and posability for its size, but I do wish it came with another glove for it to have on its other arm if you don't like the pistol. The fact it can stand up with the pistol and the jetpack is honestly a surprise, but a welcome one. The shrine itself however is easily the main draw for me, the way the sides are neatly integrated are a big plus for me and the little emerald display on the top looks quite nice. BUT, it is quite scummy that TLG wants you to get the Knuckles mech for the master emerald itself, I can kinda see the intentions with combining sets, but some recent sets in the past two years did it way better. The additional builds at the base of the shrine are pretty good too, love the little grape vine as a reference to them being Knuckles' favourite food and the punching bag is a cute sidebuild, even the little bed under the shrine is honestly alright. Not gonna talk about the grape catapult much, but I can respect the choice to give Amy something to use her hammer on. Overall, a pretty good looking set with fun little builds and play features that Sonic fans could use as a display piece. The lack of the master emerald itself does bring it down a bit, but otherwise, its pretty much worth your money. 7.5/10

• Egg Drillster

The minifigures in this one are pretty good, but the best of the bunch is Super Sonic, easily. Perfectly captures the transformation in minifigure form and the fact they used an entirely new head mold definitely gives it a leg up. It's always nice to get another Shadow since he is also one of the best figures in the theme, especially if he also has the same angry look that Knuckles has. (Shame they didn't give him a gun as an accessory tho haha) The inclusion of Eggman is justified, but I do with they did something different with him. Both badnik builds are quite charming, but I'm more biased towards the Egg Pawn, it looks cute and is pretty posable for a little guy which makes it better, but I feel like it should have gotten the minifigure treatment so that you could army build with them throughout the theme since they're the backbone of Eggman's army, and to be honest, I still think it should be made into one in the future. Aside from that little gripe, a nice brickbuilt figure to include. The lab build has a surprising amount of things going on in spite of its small size, the little picture of Shadow and Maria on the computer is the big standout and it's honestly kind of a sweet thing that TLG included. The wall is very basic but it gets the job done and the pattern it has is alright. the desks on the other hand are filled with fun little additions, mainly the compact forms of Orbot and Cubot. (When are we gonna get a brickbuilt form of the former anyway?) Now the Egg Drillster itself, a fantastic build that performs its main feature well, really does bring back memories of the Thunder Driller from Power Miners. Some might say the different look it has compared to how it appeared in the 1992 game is ugly, but I think it's a good way of modernizing it. The other features are the cherry on top, the flick-fire egg missiles are just so Lego-like and the ability to detach the cockpit from the build gives it that little extra playability, Overall, a genuinely great set with a solid main build and nice brickbuilt enemies for Shadow to fight. The lab could have been improved on a little bit more, but it serves its purpose well and doesn't subtract from the sets quality at all. 8.5/10

I don't have the Adventure boat since I'm still thinking about if I truly want it or not, so I can't really give my opinions on it. All in all, these sets are a solid way of rounding out this year of Lego Sonic with new characters and builds and I'm looking forward to seeing what builds 2025 has to offer and who they'll make into minifigures next (I've got my fingers crossed for Egg Pawn, Whisper and the Chaotix)

I'm super happy for this line so far.

Shadow on his bike + Egg Drillster are my favorite sets (and the only ones i own). Great minifigures and prints (i would never in a million of years think that we will get a Lego set with Shadow and Maria photo print, haha).

I would love to buy the other sets to build the whole team but pricing and stuff (in my opinion that Boat set is the most skippable one) and that i already have other things to get, leaving me no choice. But yeah im more than happy with those 2 sets!

Yeah, the only reason I'd consider picking up the boat is to pair it up with the speed sphere challenge set from last year cuz of similar theming, but I'd rather see what 2025 has to offer first

Hope to see another Rouge the Bat set option. Otherwise i will definitely get the one with her and Knuckles.

Rouge is alright, but I'd rather see the likes of Whisper and the Chaotix next year, maybe even the Egg Pawn as a minifig if we're lucky

Oh wow i don't even dream about Espio/Charmie/Vector for now otherwise Lego will win my heart for life with those. That could be so epic. I can't honestly think of lego set i could buy as fast as the ones that include chaotix

I'm honestly curuious if we will see another non-standart "almost a bigfig" minifigure in sonic line. Dr.Eggman was an important character to make but such characters like Vector or Big the Cat... I'm so hoping for that though. Honestly making all teams would be so nice. (even if they won't make Omega-there are plenty of minifigure-size MOCs online to make one yourself)

PS: I remember they made a Leatherhead minifigure for TMNT line - it was a body peace on top of a minifigure legs.

Making a mold like that would be perfect for Vector, they might even give him the same Hagrid arms that Eggman has

I feel like they could probably slip him anywhere really without needing too much justification, he's an ally of Team Sonic fighting against Eggman🥚♂️. I know some sets are more game specific than others but I don't think they need an excuse to slip basically any character in anywhere.

The character at the top of my list for them to slip somewhere is Big the cat 😺. He should be given a treatment similar to Robotnik.
