Sorry if this is a dumb quesiton but are these Sonic sets similiar to Super Mario theme? Like are they digifigure or just minifigure?

How do we think they'll approach Knuckles when the time comes? I'm guessing molded head and ordinary arms legs and torso but what I'm really wondering about us the hands and his uh knuckles, with the spikes on them, now they could just go for normal minifig hands (option 1), I'd be okay with that. Not if you do it like the gauntlet piece where they attach on the hand sideways.

Something like that but rounded off with spikes. And it can be 1 mold for both hands.

Yes that could work, I was imagining a new and mold that went straight into the arm, like the pirate hook, boxing glove, azog hand or something.

Though that fist part can't actually hold anything can it?

I'm having trouble working out what you mean, because isn't that how Lego minifig hands tend to work!?

You're not wrong, but you can insert accessories directly into a minifigures hands by snapping them inside. With the nendoroid kirby, you can't do that, you can only slide them in

Promobricks just posted a picture of 76993. It looks like the official name is "Sonic vs. Dr. Eggman's Death Egg Robot".

The builds include the Death Egg Robot (obviously), another Speed Sphere launcher, a strip of spikes, and a small Eggman base. Figures are Sonic (same from 76990), Dr. Eggman, a blue Flicky, and a brickbuilt Cubot.

Little bit confusing that they included Cubot without Orbot since they might have been better off including an Egg Pawn or two, but hey, that won't stop me from getting him!

I think it's the only one of the wave that I like, but I want to read some reviews of the play functions before I dismiss them, because if my children find it fun, it may be worth getting some of them.

That eggman mech set is fantastic! The Tail's plane and workshop set is still my favorite set but this one is a close 2nd.

It’s a decent set and a cheaper way to get Eggman is more than welcome, but where’s Knuckles?  4 characters across 5 sets is pretty stingy.

It looks like Orbot and Cubot are coming in the Death Egg Mech set, which is pretty cool. Hopefully these sets sell well enough that we get more characters.

I see it as a "quality over quantity" thing. Sure, there aren't a ton of minifgs, but each new character requires at least one new mold (Tails needed two) as well as double-molded legs with printing. Considering that most licensed themes are full of characters with reused faces and unprinted legs, I'd much rather wait to slowly get great Sonic minifigs rather than getting everyone quickly but with the lower minifig quality of Harry Potter or Marvel.

Also, we just got official pics of the 76993 Sonic vs. Dr. Eggman's Death Egg Robot set. It seems like there's a feature where launching Sonic into the mech's stomach will cause the jetpack to pop off the back, revealing two more animal buddies inside: Pocky the bunny (also in the $50 and $100 sets) and Tocky the turtle (exclusive).

They'll probably officially reveal it a week before release. That's how they handle store exclusives most of the time.

80% sure that there will be a second wave. We can't have a line of Sonic sets without other iconic characters like Knuckles, Shadow and Jet just to name a few
