What are the chances that Goliath is Bill Foster and that the description of the Kang minifigure was completely accurate but the leaker had just misidentified the character.

Really high. Everyone shrugging off the rumour of reused parts for Moon Knight and Beast being wrong but being outraged at the loss of Kang is like watching a virtual facepalm. In fact I'm pretty sure recently that one leaker's description included a recoloured Ant-Man helmet and no one blinked.

Still waiting for Fantastic Four to make it to Lego form. What has been the “Thing” with Lego neglecting these four? And I would argue are more popular and recognizable than many characters in this bunch. 🤷‍♂️

Rights of ownership. They've only recently been brought back in to the MCU fold. Prior to that it was all a bit messy.

Uhhh the most desired fig in several years was rumored to be included and then not/cancelled. On top of that, ALL of these characters are Marvel's C/D tierineup, the most popular being Hawkeye, of all things.

This set is geared towards diehard MCU fans but I dont know how you can be surprised by lukewarm reception when Moon Knight is the most sought after.

We wanted MCU Kang for several years?! Dont be ridiculous.

We knew since series one thes figs would be mcu based. Whether they are lesser known characters has nothing to do with the fact that the lukewarm response wouldve been when the character list leaked!

and only the die hard fans watched the mcu in the last few years?! We all watched what they put out. Btw we die hard fans all loved no way home?!? Is the 3rd tier.

we knew we would get the next batch of figs from the disney plus shows. It was sus when kang was mentioned as one of the figs. Sucks that he was mislabeled though.

and we go through this hate train every time one image gets released. A blurry one too.

Overall, sure, but against Echo, Wolfman, Agatha, and Goliath? Kids saw Quantumania, not Moon Knight.

Didnt see Quantumania as a kids movie but then again no one saw it.

the core x men team from the 90’s kids show cemented them as A list characters, more so than iron man and thor.

You know perfectly well I wasnt talking about Wolverine.

Even casual MCU followers know Kang is the new "Thanos." No idea where you're getting this from.

Yeesh there is certain tone in your writing that is bordering on “troll behaviour” but i have to agree with you that Kang is known the general audiences for a while that Kang is here to stay for a while.

Found the troll because no way this is legit thinking

I'm honestly glad Kang wasn't in this series afterall taking up a slot because we're going to end up getting him a ton over the next several years to the point of being as sick of him as I am of Thanos at this point, precisely because he's the new Thanos. I'd much, MUCH rather have Goliath who otherwise would likely never have gotten a figure.

Interesting thought I had about the Echo figure: So we know she's going to have the handprint on her face in her series like she's supposed to have and it looks like there is a white smudge on the minifig's face so it definitely has it too but it's difficult to make out. Who wants to see it be a realistic looking hand print and who wants it to be a minifig hand print so basically a big "C" shape on her face? Personally I would love it if it's the latter.

i think my biggest complaint with this series is the lack of ms marvel, wouldve prefered her to goliath or mr knight (ik we r getting her later this year but her suit is so much better in the show)

i also would’ve prefered a new character to storm, maybe jean grey to keep the guy to girl ratio, same goes for wolverine but i couldn’t see them dropping him

would also like some secret invasion representation, but they would all be kind of boring so i see why they didn’t

overall i don’t think this one is nearly as bad as ppl seem to think that’s just me tho

Tbf, the final pieces do look very close to the rumoured ones, had I seen a low res picture of the minifigure, I might've confused the pieces too

Why is a hate train to say you don't want to buy minifigures of a character you don't care about?

This is not what they're saying at all. They're saying this minifigs would only catter to die hard fans, not that die hard fans are the only people watching the movies.

I wouldn't say it's *bad*.

As in, it's not outrageous or anything.

Like, if any of those characters were the worst minifig on a better CMF it would be a very good CMF.

But I just feel like this is just a bunch of characters that I either don't care about or I sort of like but not all that much.

Shame about not getting Kang but it sounds like that was more an issue of leakers misidentifying the minifigure rather than the character being cancelled and replaced.

The X-Men are definitely the highlight of the wave but I still wouldn't be surprised if we do see these figures reused in any potential sets next year. It would be strange to have the rest of the 97 team easily obtainable but Wolverine of all characters being locked behind a blind box. I can definitely see Storm swapping out the mohawk for long hair but keeping the same uniform for the X-Mansion.

Hawkeye also looks to be the best likeness we've gotten of the character yet. Hopefully this carries over to the minifigure that's coming in the Avengers Tower set.

A highly detailed Skrull, that people wouldn't mind getting duplicates of in the name of army building would've been nice. But you're right, out of these current 4 episodes, all Skrulls have worn generic clothes

As my avatar shows, yes X-men are definitely the highlight. I think (hope) that other characters get made as the series progresses.

No offense to the leakers but it was really unfortunate if Goliath was misread as Kang… I mean I get it the 2 characters do bear similarities (esp the inclusion of Ant-Man), but this teaches me not to get hyped about leaks until we see real pics

Also I’m not the only one who thinks Hawkeye is in his Ronin costume right??

This is not true even remotely. Wolverine is THE most popular X-man, and Storm and Beast are core members of the team. They also importantly benefit from the expanded printing and new molds of a CMF, as opposed to professor X, cyclops, or jean gray, who wouldn't require any new molds. (and are less visually interesting, if we're for some reason pretending the x-men are C/D tier and kids won't know them, in which case a blue monster and lightning-firing goddess would be more interesting than dude with visor, dude in wheelchair, and girl in yellow suit)

Trying not to get my hopes up, but it makes sense to differentiate him from Kate, and I'd probably get him alongside the knights if he is in the ronin suit.

My only beef with the X-Men selection is that I already have a Storm from the X-Men Blackbird set. Would’ve loved to get Jean Gray, Gambit or Rogue but it’s a different version so I can’t complain and I’m glad that those that missed out on her in the set can get her now.

I’ve gotta agree with most people on here. The CMF Marvel series 2 lineup is pretty weak. I’d prefer Infinity Saga characters and would love repeats like Endgame battle-damaged Cap, Infinity War Thor, Civil War Black Panther, etc., as long as arm and leg printing is included. That being said, I’m excited for the Moon Knight minifigs, the Beast minifig and maybe even the Goliath minifig. Maybe I’m off here but the Goliath headpiece looks new. If so, we could see some great Ant-Man/Wasp minifigs in the future.

@Falconfan1414 and @Brick Clicker, I’ve gotta say I’m always impressed with how active you both are across various Lego sites and social media. I appreciate all you guys do. You really build up the hype and make a lot of us fans really excited. Thank you for that! I also wanted to ask, what are your thoughts with Kang being excluded from the CMF lineup? Do you think leakers were misinformed or do you think Lego did a quick switcharoo because of Majors’ recent actions?

The helmet has been around for a while. It was used on the Endgame Ant-Man figure back in 2019. We should be getting a new Wasp minifigure quite soon in the Avengers Tower set this November. No word yet on Ant-Man. Current rumors indicate he may just be a micro figure but as we've seen with Kang/Goliath that can easily change.

I think the helmet is new. It looks slightly shorter and rounder than that 2019 piece. I could be wrong tho

Ahhh maybe you’re right. It does look similar to the one from the Endgame Ant-Man.

I understand people's disinterest in this series but personally I quite like it.

They aren't all the most interesting characters but they are new and different (except for Wolverine) which I appreciate. And they're not all from What If either, so I actually want more of these than I did the last series, even if that was a little more visually interesting.

The Kang thing is a shame but as ToaDraco says he'll be showing up again.

The only figures I'd would have preferred to see instead of what we got are Jean Grey, since the only way to get her officially is the SDCC figure, Cyclops because his figure could do with an update and maybe Ms Marvel.

For now though I definitely want Moon Knight, the 3 X-Men, She-Hulk and Werewolf.

Also interested in the Hawkeyes, but they're less of a priority. Agatha's a maybe.

Echo, Goliath and Mr Knight, less so. But I'd still like to see them.

Seems worse than CMF series 1. Also I'm not seeing alot of unique/new molds either.

CmF series 1 had a ton of big parts that made it amazing value, I.e. Falcon's wings, Spidey's rope piece, Wanda's headpiece, etc.

I think there are some new hairpieces here (beast, hawkeye, storm, werewolf) and moon knight has a new hood and weapons. What else is new?

I'm surprised they didn't just replace Kang with Cassie to be honest...

So can anyone explain was Kang never happening in the first place and leakers just confused him with Goliath due to similar appearances in preliminary pictures? Or was Kang originally supposed to be there, but due to Jonathan Majors allegations they decided to replace already designed Kang with Goliath?

In any case this Cmf is just a wasted opportunity. They could have made highly detailed Iron Man suit with dual molded legs and printed arms, stealth suit Cap or Black Widow from Endgame. Instead we get Echo(why are Lego so bad with their choices?!)…

I'm talking about general audience.

To them, he's just an Ant-Man villain.

Not true, he was in Loki first (and no one showed up to watch Ant-Man at theaters) so if anything he's a Loki villain

I am surprised that this appears to warrant an explanation but the reason why we’re not getting people’s wishlist characters in this (I’ve seen the Stealth Suit Cap suggestion especially a bunch of times now here and elsewhere) is because the CMF is a supplement so that Disney+ characters, whose projects otherwise don’t receive sets, can also be turned into minifigures. In that same vein, I highly doubt Kang was ever on the cards, nor would it make sense to put Kamala (who is already in a set this year) in there. Admittedly, this makes Wolverine a weird inclusion, but I suppose they might have wanted to include one very popular mutant to coax people into getting the full Sentinel?

All descriptions, from first to last, have included Kang. I doubt that they confused the characters, also because there was clearly talk of a blue face, BC even specified two heads and a new helmet… and with everything that has happened this year I see no reason to doubt that the character has been replaced after the scandal.

Perhaps, sooner or later, some leaker will shed light on the matter

We probably will get Kang along the line, however, knowing how lego designs minifigs, it will be a fig with no extra arm printing, no printing on legs, probably a rehashed head as well and not with his war helmet on. That’s why i had high hopes for him in the cmf.

That aside, i think the leakers just misread Goliath for Kang. I hope it’s Laurence Fishburne in there. Love that dude.

Another iron man, cap and widow would have awful. Those guys are normal set material and I'd rather have new characters than new costumes.

Yeah I think they sorta had to include at least really big name, like how Spider-Man was in series 1.

Not quite a face but Goliath's helmet visor is blue. So that could be part of the confusion.
