I’m sure I’m in the minority here, but I’m completely indifferent regarding the switch to boxes for future CMF series as I buy full display boxes anyway :laugh_hard: Even if I bought individual packs, I’d still prefer boxes. I wouldn’t want to buy something people have been touching this extensively, especially post-Covid

When I buy CMF figures, I always use the same local retailer which identifies all of them, so I also don't really care.

I agree, but if we need some extra characters for any reason it will be more difficult to find them… anyway it's not a big problem…

Meanwhile I built Hulkbuster and Quinjet.  It's funny because I reversed my first impressions: Hulkbuster isn't that amazing, just the bust is actually great.  While the Quinjet is awesome!  And next to the 2012 model (which I love) its merits are even more evident.  But I'm still waiting for Lego to complete the line with another set

Any confirmation of a D2C for Marvel this year?  I was under the impression we had a Avengers Tower D2C in the works last year but that name came to fruition?

Some expensive sets have been leaked (I believe atleast one at atleast $200) but no confirmations for anything yet.

Okay, thank you.  I am mistaken in thinking that we were told we'd be getting an Avengers Tower last year?  I loose track of what is real and speculation sometimes as I do not check the forum everyday.

I think that was just wishful thinking. The two big D2C Marvel sets ended up being the Hulkbuster and Black Panther bust.

Appreciated mate, sometimes I can check this forum everyday and then other times I can check monthly.  Work complications.   Hopefully then this will be the year we get a mini figure D2C build.

Yes, there was no actual rumour about that, only rampant speculation

As for this year, we haven’t heard any 2HY rumours yet. If I’m not mistaken, Promobricks tend to unveil the Marvel 2HY set lists right after the Harry Potter ones, so with any luck we might have our list soon!

Then again, the HP list was published a monthly earlier than usual, so who knows what happens

That doesn't make it worth it, though, IMO. A show shouldn't exist as set-up.

Not exclusively, no. Projects like Echo & Agatha will still be about them, but they'll likely also set up future projects like how Ant-Man & the Wasp is setting up Avengers while still being about Scott and his family. Echo & Agatha are supporting characters, so their shows will likely feature characters and storylines from the heroes they're commonly associated with (Daredevil & Wanda). That doesn't make them weird or pointless.

No, we made that one up out of thin air, actually

This shouldn't be a problem at all anyway. The amount of single use plastics... good riddance.

Has it been confirmed that the Marvel CMF 2 will have 12 minifigures like the last one?  The news about the upcoming Disney CMF getting 18 minifigures makes me a bit hopeful that we'll get a few more slots this time.

I thought the same. 18 figures would definitely help fill in the gaps from Hawkeye and the 2022 shows while also giving us plenty of characters from the 2023 shows.

Not confirmed, but it's definitely a positive sign that Lego might be going back to 16/18 minifigs for licensed series. Marvel definitely needs more than 12 minifigs in CMF.

For me, having the CMF's in bags meant my local stores would actually have a chance at selling them, boxed sets for Vidiyo were destroyed, discarded and shelfwarmers so local stores don't stock the boxed ones anymore (Mario for example). Bagged CMF meant I'd be occasionally tempted if one of them was there and felt like it may be one I'd like or would'nt mind a duplicate of. Couple this with the size of a boxed CMF compared to a bagged CMF and it's easier for me to buy a ton of the CMF bags and go as opposed to the hassle of awkwardly trying to fit the boxed ones into a bag after paying :sadnew:

I don't mind the blind bag idea because at least you can feel the bag and have a rough guess, but I'm not prepared to buy an entire wave to get probably one or two figures I'm after and I've never seen any Lego store display an entire box in order to do the 'box layout' method, they always take them out and display on shelves or hooks, so switching to the boxed CMF has meant they've lost me as a customer - will be resorting to purchasing from resellers now as scalper prices are still cheaper than taking shots in the dark.

But to be fair, I'm barely buying LEGO Marvel anymore. Phase 4 has made me lose interest in the MCU as a whole

At this stage I'm pretty much only going for the Legacy characters/sets/locations, buildable figures (If they are good) and maybe some specific figures that I liked from the comics that are handled well.

Personally I viewed Endgame as a natural ending to the story and a point to where I could tell what direction they were taking the MCU and felt I'd seen enough. NWH is the only one I've seen in cinema and that was because of Tobey, Andrew and the returning villains from the Raimi Series - most notably Alfred Molina and Dafoe. I don't particularly feel a connection with any of the MCU characters after Endgame happened. I'm slightly curious about how GotG might end, but that's about it unless anything changes.

Disney CMF is to celebrate 100 years. Depending on how you view it, Lego staff have said they either intentionally did not bother to do a 10th anniversary of Marvel because they were unsure when it started OR they forgot about the 10th anniversary of Marvel. I think the 18 minifigure CMF is an exception for the Disney CMF series and that the Marvel CMF is just Lego's answer to the Disney+ content.

76262: $199.99 (18+, 3128pcs) in August could be a D2C set. It's also possible we have more that we are just unaware of as we still have several numbers without associated prices/piece counts.

As for the idea of Avengers Tower, that came from speculation. When people think of a Marvel D2C, it's the most logical option especially given it was the 10th anniversary of Avengers, 10th anniversary of the Lego MCU sets, etc... instead we got Hulkbuster, Sanctum and the Black Panther Bust.

Similarly, even now any potential future D2C is likely to be expected to be Avengers Tower until we wind up getting one - because why would'nt you do an Avengers Tower? It's the most iconic aspect, a big focus of the Avengers films, heavily tied to Tony Stark whose Iron Man suits they use to sell sets and at this stage they've done everything else that could logically qualify to the point of doing the AoU Hulkbuster as a D2C, twice.

Personally I'm still expecting that 76262, or another D2C this year, is Avengers Tower. I think the legacy wave we wanted last year started with the AOU Hulkbuster & Black Panther Bust and is continuing with the Quinjet & IW Hulkbuster, perhaps with one or two additional legacy sets mid year and will be capped off with Avengers Tower. Hopefully throw in a small NWH wave and I'd be happy with that.

If we eventually get an Avengers Tower it would be neat if they added extra letters to spell out Stark that could attach so you can switch between the two

That wouldn’t work as Stark tower in Avengers 1 looks different from Avengers tower in AoU. The upper part of towers is completely redesigned in second movie.

The sanctum doesnt look exactly like the mcu sanctum. They can take some creative liberties

I've always thought the Stark/Avengers switch would be an important play feature in a hypothetical tower. Although by now we have almost all the protagonists of 2012 (and I want to hope that Hulk and Hawkeye are on the way)

That makes sense, I suppose it is now the most logical D2C minifigure scale set.  As much as an X-Mansion is probably up there I don't think we'll see that for another year or two so having the Tower is the most logical.

Doctor Strange polybag leaked. It includes the MoM Strange figure. The portal looks nice and features some micro buildings with a NYC backdrop. Overall it looks good and unique for a $5 polybag.
