Wont the concept art be given to merch companies during preproduction? Then lego would receive the color version. The director said they changed it to blck and white in editing. funko has a quicker period of production than lego so i guess they saw the change and made variant versions of it. In general, yes, but there's what, about a year between the release of Werewolf by Night and the CMF? I'd imagine lego didn't plan on making WbN sets/marvel didn't ask them to, so they had no reason to get the concept art, or at the very least, by the time they started designing the fig the special would have been released.

I imagine Lego still needs approval from Marvel to produce toys, so they'd still receive some additional reference material. Although, even if the references are in color, Lego may still make him in black & white. I always compare how Funko, Hasbro, etc. design their characters, so it seems more likely now he'll be colorless, or at the very least have a brownish tint.

The framed photo is from the existing show, and why would Lego receive new concept art for an existing design just to include some voilet pieces. I can't think of any voilet peices to give him off the top of my head but maybe it's the flowers or broken sentinel parts or gambits cards or something.

thebricksbear Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 I get the whole "B&W was unique" opinion, but have you seen other existing B/W figs? They're ugly as hell. Based on the concept art, if it ends up B&W, we're talking about dark bluish/stone grey head, torso, and hair, light bluish/stone grey arms, and black pants, and then some light grey printing on the face and torso. I went through my figs to pick out the ones I think are super ugly, and Ghost, non-prime (pearl dark grey) Ultrons, and the chitauri are all pleasing to have but are not good looking. Even white Vision is borderline but has really good gold printing. I have a couple of bootleg Moon knight figs because I didn't think they'd actually get made by lego, and honestly I'm a little worried for Mr. Knight as well, because beyond printing he's very boring in fig form. All of this aside, having WbN in color would be great for non-Marvel collectors as well. There's a couple of wolf-man figs in lego form but they all have wolf heads to my knowledge.

squiz18 Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 Lineup sounds great, glad that 12 fig rumour didn't come to pass. Can't wait to see the set when it's finally revealed. Glad it's whole MCU and not just AOU. One of the bugles strengths was having minifigs up the whole structure and it looks like you'll be able to do that was this too. I imagine there will be a few of the trans bars for displaying figures on the outside. I'd be amazed if Loki wasn't there too especially with 4 chitauri. I imagine they will include a small flyer from the original avengers. Wasp is interesting as it sounds like it won't be a microfig. Is she ever in the tower in the MCU? I can't remember her being there, but won't complain. It's a shame there's no quicksilver mentioned. And a Erik Selvig figure would have been good though he's pretty generic. SWAT Tony Stark would have been great too but maybe Swat figures are too far for lego.

Really hope the Vision has the red printed on a green head this time rather than vice versa. Hopefully Quicksilver is also in there. They say 'at least 22 figures' after all.

And I'm assuming War Machine, Nick Fury, Tony Stark, and Pepper Potts are all the versions from last year's Iron Man Armory? I'm also choosing to believe "at least 22" means a chance of Quicksilver and Loki as well.

Scarilian Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 Selection of figures sounds alright - though for me this one is entirely dependent on the build as I'd want the build to be a display piece for my collection of MCU characters. Some of the figures have me concerned how they will handle them such as Wasp and Ultron - will they get new helmets, which version of them are we getting, etc... Would prefer 2x Chitauri and 2x Iron Legion Armor Drones as opposed to 4x Chitauri. I kinda expect they will including a Loki re-use and the lack of Agent Coulson is a weird one. 27 minutes ago, Legocentrico said: ps.
