Also I find very funny how Lego "will add more accessories with the boxes" while She Hulk has a phone + a sign and Werewolf has a 1x1 printed tile

yea the whole more acessories thing kinda just isnt true with any of them except the 3 x men. the rest just seem like standard ammounts, its not like they have never included alt heads and hairs they did it last marvel cmf.

These new descriptions unfortunately confirm boxes for Cmf which is terrible and anti-consumer! I don’t believe Legos line about being eco-friendly, its just a  poor excuse for anti-consumer practices. Vydio already showed that boxes are bad, and I think Marvel Cmf will fail because of boxes.

I don‘t have any real stake in the whole blind bag vs blind box discussion since I always buy entire cases, but if I were a regular customer in a shop, I wouldn‘t want to buy bags that were handled by dozens of people with their unwashed mittens

Call it anti-consumerist, but the whole point of blind bags/boxes is that you don‘t know what you‘re getting. The bagged CMF series were already a big exception on the toy/collectible market as you can‘t „cheat“ by feeling the contents with most other products. Closing that loophole was only a matter of time

The fact that all blind bags encourage gambling in children doesn't excuse LEGO also encouraging gambling in children.

Everyone doing a bad thing doesn't make it not bad. I truly hope LEGO suffers sales consequences.

I wasn‘t justifying it though, just pointing out that this is par for the course for blind bag/box toys. The market as a whole is morally dubious at best, I agree. Nonetheless, I would argue that CMF series aren‘t as bad as other products since all figures are equally rare (ignoring Graves/Grindelwald and Mr Gold), and completing a set isn‘t all that hard.

I see your point, but I doubt they‘d go back to bags if the series ended up selling poorly.

Blind aspects work when its a low price, but we've seen price increases that make it very unlikely anyone would purchase these without knowing what they are. The 'more accessories' aspect is very misleading. Boxes are also at a detriment to stores selling themas they just cannot shift them and people end up destroying them to find out what they are before purchasing. The excuse that it is somehow eco-friendly rather than to encourage sales through making it entirely gambling as to whether you end up getting the figure you want, as opposed to having a chance to feel for the figure you want, makes it even more disgusting practices from Lego.

I expect a lot of people will just flock to Bricklink or resellers... IF people even want these figures. Other than Moon Knight who was from a popular series and his design works as comic-inspired and the X-Men who are comic-inspired, every other figure is based on an obscure series. She-Hulk and Hawkeye tied for second lowest viewed Disney+ series. Several of the designs for the characters are based on tiny appearances they had making them appeal less to the general fanbase. The core character they probably expected people to want, Kang, is either going to be recast or scrapped entirely and has only appeared in one film which bombed at the box office.

That's how every in-person shop works, customers have handled all of it, especially in toy or impulse buy sections like sweets/chocolates

I think at this page, 'suffer the consequences' means Lego just scraps the CMF concept entirely and either encorporates them into sets, as they should have done in the first place, or just in general abandons the CMF line which some feel is distracting from the existing sets.

Lego hasn't said this directly though I don't think. That's just how brickclicker described it.

I think possibly the worst case scenario that this will cause is people opening the boxes in store. With the bags it was already starting to get bad at local stores, but with boxes…. I wouldn’t be surprised to walk into a Walmart and see every box opened up.

And even though I love the idea of the buildable sentinel, I don’t think I would’ve traded the plastic bags to have it. I don’t want to buy the entire series, I just want to buy specific figs and I’m not about to pay the extra S&H from bricklink just to have them either.

But I think we can all agree that switching to cardboard was a move to save money on plastic rather than be primarily “eco-friendly”.

No way Lego scraps entire Cmf line if Marvel boxes flop. Since it takes time for big corporations to see sales number I’d guess they will notice potential drop in sales when next Cmf series(whatever it will be) will drop in January 24. And if they are smart(which I doubt) they will put new Cmf in bags again.

And yes, ‘eco-friendly’ boxes is typical corporate lingo, which really means cutting costs.

If they really cared about Cmf packaging being eco-friendly they could easily make paper bags for Cmf.

…I think there is a very good reason they would never use paper bags for that :laugh_hard:

Will LEGO still sell entire boxes of CMF in this new format?

Of course. The Vidiyo blind boxes were sold that way too, so why would this be different?

wolverine toupee for bestia is very disappointing :-p

But it makes sense. That's how Jim Lee drew Beast, and that's largely what they based the Animated Series designs on.

Ma ha senso. È così che Jim Lee ha disegnato Beast, ed è in gran parte ciò su cui hanno basato i disegni della serie animata.

With the cmf budget I was expecting a new piece with ears too…

I don't know how to tell you this, but every product on shelves, (even food) has probably been touched by at least a few customers already with their unwashed mittens. And for those of us who can't afford entire cases, or just don't want to spend... what, $300 on a full box? Is that right? when we only want a few figs (I mean, even the full set of 12 would be $60), it's a lot nicer to not have to guess who we're spending money on.

For instance, I want moon and mr knight, but I don't want, say, she-hulk or clint. If I'm buying a product, I want to know what I'm buying, not just have a "chance" that I'm getting what I want.

When I buy a bag of gummy bears at the grocery store, I wouldn't expect people having thoroughly kneaded it top to bottom to feel for its contents  There's a difference between light touching and a strip search. I'm not a germaphobe, mind, I just don't like the thought.

The series itself sounds amazing though! My favourite aspects are definitely Kang (to make up for the lack of proper Quantumania sets), the Darkhold, Agatha, purple power blasts (always nice to get them in new colours), Mr Knight, Moon Knight, the scarab, Lucky, the new owl, Werewolf by Night, and the bloodstone. Can't wait for pictures!

Also, hoping for red boxart here. I'm sick and tired of blue or white CMF boxart

ignoring Graves/Grindelwald

Wait, was Grindelwald a chase figure? I thought he was a regular minifig.

I don't know if this is a common thing or not, but on my local Lego Store you can just ask at the counter they straight up give you an open bag of whatever you want

How much do General Audiences/Casual fans care about this, tho?

No, I don't think this would be a good idea

Sort of. There was only one per box, so it was a bit more rare than other minifigs. I wouldn't call it a chase figure though

This one actually looks very good?

The shoulder piece is the only thing I don't totally buy in, as it looks a bit weird (and it would've been mentioned in the leak), but otherwise I like it.

Even if it's fake (pretty sure this is a meme account), this is one of the very few false leaks I wish were true. I specially like the head, it has such a clean print.

Sorry, which figure are you talking about? I’m not able to find anything

Agree...perhaps overall just more tiles with prints?

Anyway, I am very curious how substantial that completed Sentinel will be. I am somehow doubting that the three CMF sets will form an actual minifig. I would not mind an Avatar-style tallfig though. LOL
