Rest in peace the dreams of a good fig selection. Not to be optimistic but that could just be the figs who can fit in the ship, for all we know there could still be a villain or a side character
Lego_Minecraft_Goat Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 No the description mentions it again as: Super Hero Spaceship: 'LEGO® Marvel Hoopty (76232) includes 3 iconic movie characters for your child to recreate action scenes from The Marvels from Marvel Studios"

Lego_ofme Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 No primary villain minifigures again. Sigh… roll on avengers tower and 2024. Rough year.

What If had so many epic villains, literally Omega lvl threats and arguably the strongest villains in the entire Marvel Universe in Ultimate Ultron, Sinister Strange and Zombie Wanda... but nope we get Goliath. What If deserves its own dedicated theme or at least a full wave.

It would've achieved the same product goals while also giving consumers something new. Edited July 19, 2023 by LegendaryArticuno

BrickBob Studpants Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 The Hoopty? That name is certainly a choice Looking forward to the reveal, despite none of the villains being included. At least we’re getting Goose again

Lego_ofme Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Revealed. I really like the Ms Marvel figure - makes her costume look better than it does in trailers. Ship is quite a cool shape. Not a great set at that price point. Missed a trick not giving Captain Marvel her new costume. Pass and bricklink Ms Marvel for me.
benderisgreat Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Marvels set is just ok. While ship is nice, I don’t see 90$ here, should be 50$ at most. Minifigs are nice, but only Kamala gets leg print for some reason. Also no main villain again? Why didn’t Lego include Dar-Ben here? So far this year we haven’t gotten main villain for either Quantumania or Guardians Vol.3. Why is there “no villains” policy all of the sudden?
BrickBob Studpants Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Quite expensive for what it is, but I love the colour scheme and shaping of the ship! The minifigs are well done and the flerken kittens are a cute addition
Clone OPatra Posted July 19, 2023 Author Posted July 19, 2023 The ship is giving me positive Star Trek shuttle vibes. It looks good, but the price realllyyyy does not.
PGBQW Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 I know it's extremely overpriced, but that aside, it's one of the best Marvel sets of the year
kevkipo Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 (edited) Man the Minifigures series looks so good!! Moon Knight is gonna be a wanted one for sure! Edited July 19, 2023 by kevkipo
wesker Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 The build has some nice use of slopped parts but that's about the only thing it has going for it. Between the high price tag, limited character selection and a film that has zero hype behind it, I suspect this one is going to be hanging around the clearance isle for a very long time.
BrickBob Studpants Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 I only have three criticisms here: The price (duh) Lack of villains like Dar-Benn or a Kree soldier All of the Marvels’ powers being represented by the same set of power blast pieces. Including a purple one maybe would’ve been overkill, but they could’ve included a trans-purple fist piece for Ms Marvel at least They’re not dealbreakers to me though.

But it suffers from all the problems you have already pointed out :-/// Marvel 2023 continues to disappoint Edited July 19, 2023 by Legocentrico
THELEGOBATMAN Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 The ship does look really good, but the minifigures are so lacklustre. Captain Marvel looks really incomplete without dual-moulded arms. Photon really needs leg printing. Ms. Marvel is okay, but no representations of her powers whatsoever. Really? All of them use power pieces of the same colour? That's just pathetic. LEGO can't afford to include a few more pieces? The price is genuinely one of the worst prices for a LEGO set ever. It looks worth 40€, not 90€.

Yperio_Bricks Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 What's the color of the ship? I can not tell. In some pictures it looks really shiny and in other pictures it looks like light bluish gray.
BusterNut31 Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Great looking ship! Love Kamala!!! Pity about the villians…why no villians this year?!?
brickbride Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 ... and where is the rest of the set? The really sad thing though? If this won't sell at the price - and it won't -, LEGO will be all like "We knew it! Female superheroes don't sell! Let's make even fewer of them!"
squiz18 Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 (edited) The price of that Marvel's set is obscene. The ship itself looks good, but I've got no idea what they are basing that price on. Even compared to the Bowie and Quinjet from this year there is so much less there. The minifigs are pretty lacking too. Ms Marvel is good, but Photon is nearly identical to the CMF and captain Marvel we've had similar versions of too. And no villains? Again comparing this to the most recent iron man armoury, similar price and piece count but 8 figs vs 3?! And the armoury has spent most of it's life at least 25% off (even on the Lego website). I was debating a few of you some months ago about this set and I was arguing there was no way lego would charge that much and provide so little. But I was wrong so apologies to you. I'm usually pretty positive and forgiving about most things Lego as it's a fun hobby for me, but this set is terrible. I'd think twice about picking it up at 50% off. My son's recently got into Ninjago and we've picked up a few of those sets and the quality and value for money is so much higher there. Edited July 19, 2023 by squiz18
