Balrogofmorgoth Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Honestly the X-men figures are a total waste for this CMF. They should have just been in a set, they don’t need much detail. They should have used those three slots for more D+ MCU figures, there are certainly plenty missing
ToaDraco Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Man, this is absolutely a better wave than the first. I want almost all of these! Wolverine was going to be an easy skip but now that I see he has excellent arm printing as well as dual-molded legs with printing and side leg printing, there's no way I'm passing that up. Werewolf-By-Night is my favorite but I wish he came with more accessories. I'm not sure what else he could have realistically included mind you, it's just that the Bloodstone just isn't enough. I'm very glad to see he has arm printing and dual-molded legs. I can't tell but he might have side leg printing as well. Moon Knight is my 2nd favorite with Mr. Knight being my 3rd. Moon Knight especially is absolutely perfect with all the printing and new pieces for the cowl and crescent. Same deal here, can't tell for sure if he has side leg pri ting but he at least has arm printing, leg pri ting and dual-molded legs. I cannot wait to add them to the collection as well. I'm glad Agatha has the Darkhold and that's going to be the main reason I get her. Honestly the only figures I have zero interest in are Echo, Hawkeye and Kate Bishop. Even She-Hulk and Goliath both have fantastic arm printing, dual-molded legs, leg printing and side leg printing.
JohnTPT17 Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Here on my thoughts on the series: Agatha: Looks pretty much exactly how I would want her. She does have the same oddly cheerful face like Wanda had in the first series, but it doesn't bug me too much. The Darkhold is a nice touch as well. Moon Knight: Looks perfect, honestly. I imagine he'll come with two sets of his crescent dagger things, which is probably how I'll display him. Hopefully that hood piece can get reused down the line for some mideval figs! Mr. Knight: Feels redundant standing next to Moon Knight. I would have rather gotten Scarlet Scarab (it also would have made the gender ratio exactly even, funnily enough). As-is, though, he looks good, and that fish tank can probably be reused in a lot of MOCs. WBN: Haven't seen the short, and I have no interest to. Not really interested. Hopefully the "light on dark face printing" looks okay. She-Hulk: Hated the series, but the figure does look accurate. It looks like he's holding a court briefing in her right hand? I'm curious to see what that looks like. As-is, though, it's not really for me. Baby Owl (featuring Hawkeye): City will be getting some good use out of that mold next year! Hawkeye looks fine, but nothing special. I do like the new bow piece, and I wonder if it will become more widespread. Lucky the Pizza Dog (featuring Kate Bishop): I'm probably one of about a dozen people who wasn't a huge fan of her character - I thought she has just okay. Looks good though, and more pizza box variety is always a good thing. Goliath: Suffers from the same issue that Gamora did last series: he hasn't really shown up yet, so it's had to be attached to the character. As-is, I'm not that interested. I will be interested to see if the Ant-man statue comes with a spare though. Echo: Like the prosthetic leg, not interested in the character (or her show) overall. I'm not sure what she's holding - an ice cream cone? Beast: I thought he might looks odd as a minifig, but he actually looks pretty good! I do hope he has a second face printing that shows some teeth. The mug is great, but the microscope looks a bit odd. I know that the flask piece is shoehorned into more CMF's than it probably deserves, but I think I would have preferred it over the microscope. (I also know the X-mansion is coming, but I don't know if I will be able to afford it, so this gives me some way to get a couple of them). Storm: I don't like Storm with a mohawk - I'll swap out the hair when I get her. Otherwise, looks great! Wolverine: A bit redundant, but he makes sense to be here. I do wish Professor X would have been here instead though - the box might have helped justify a bigger wheelchair/hoverchair build. I do hope his leg printing looks good in-person, Lego has struggled with complex patterns and contrasting colors recently. So, in conclusion: Really like, and would get individually: Agatha, Moon Knight, all of the X-Men. Okay, and not opposed to having: Mr. Knight, Hawkeye, Kate. Not a fan/don't know: WBN, She-Hulk, Goliath, Echo. I wish I would be able to just feel for the few I really want, but I'll probably just do what I did for the Disney series: order a full box or two, keep one full set myself, and sell the rest. Even selling the Disney series "at-retail" ($90 a set), I still ended up getting my whole set for free. I imagine I can probably do the same with this series.
Lego_ofme Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 (edited) I love the X-Men figures but as per above I think it’s maybe a waste without the rest of the x-men and doesn’t really go with the other minifigures. Would have preferred them in 97 sets - I imagine there will be less detailed repeats if those sets come. Quite like Moon Knight & Agatha and hawkeye is a bit of an upgrade on any current ones but frankly there’s no big must haves in the MCU Disney+ minifigs I’m really excited about now we can see them. Shame. I feel Kang may have salvaged it. Goliath is way too similar to endgame antman seems a big waste of a slot. Hope this series doesn’t suffer sales-wise (as it feels a bit of a weak line up plus being in boxes) and doesn’t stop Lego continuing making marvel cmf in future. I very much want them to continue. CF Mitch Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Damn, the X-Men look great! Storm's hair is a surprise (I guess she changes it in the new series?), but I think I might change it for the current hairstyle for her. Interesting that we're not getting Sentinel scrap with each of them, but I definitely don't mind. The most iconic part is present with Wolverine, and Beast and Storm have great accessories of their own Speaking of Wolverine, I love how, even though we already have multiple versions of him, this is his best minifigure so far, if you ask me It's great that the blue is more prominent, mainly due to the blue boots, I think Hawkeye's new hairpiece also looks great Regards, Mitch
Legocity2713 Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Best Wolverine hands down, it’s exceeded all my expectations. Sentinel head is a fantastic touch. Mask is still whatever, will probably display him with his hair only. Beast is fantastic as well. Storm I need to see better pics of but love that we have the white suit. Can’t wait for more 90s X-Men figs, looking to collect a team of X-Men now that I’m satisfied with my Hall of Armor and Iron Man collection. Great detail on Goliath and a bunch of others. Echo’s suit isn’t anything comic related but the head and hair gives us a good way to make a comic version. The new bow pieces are very meh. Too thick. I really liked the Werewolf By Night special presentation show but that fig doesn’t do much for me. Disliked Moon Knight and his suit and feel the same about his figs. Will be the first series where I’ll probably buy a full box just to make sure I get them all.
hvader Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Dang it the leaker got it wrong again with the buildable sentinel…
Mandalorianknight Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Wow, seeing them all here I might have to get almost half the series! (On bricklink, of course. I'm not spending $5 to cross my fingers for wolveriene when I'm equally likely to get goliath.) The Knights and X-men are all done really well (I mean, even Wolveriene, who I'd considered a waste of a slot, looks so much better than his mech fig that I want to buy him despite having that fig), and those are the characters I care about, so I'm getting them. It's not that the other 7 aren't superbly detailed or anything, but I just don't care about-or actively dislike-the characters. It's a situation where it's perhaps more on Marvel than on lego, though I still wonder if marvel was really telling lego "hey, you HAVE to put goliath in this cmf"
Shiva Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Storm, har reminds of the... whenever she had the mohawk in the comics. Goliath? will that char be in the MCU? Gamora, of the previous CMF series, rocked!
Surge Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 I think the sentinel is still likely, just not being shown on this page. If i remember correctly things like alt heads are not usually show here, so they could also not just show something thats essentially just a pile of bricks even if the sentinel rumor was false, these all do look really good ! very excited for the first, already have some display ideas for some of these guys

Doesn‘t look like the dinosaur tracker‘s from S12 to me

I can't help but think that many of the YouTubers who said that Lego is "increasing" the accessories included, are just being Lego-apologists.

Moon Knight: Agreed, Looks perfect and the MCU costume design is great. Mr. Knight: Given he is an entirely separate personality, he isn't redundant, Moon knight was created in 1975, Mr Knight was introduced in 2014. The difference is important. WBN: If you haven't seen the short, you don't get an opinion. I loved the pulp feel and the very 'The Mummy' vibe it had going, as a one shot (so far) it was great and I'd love to see more Figs from it. She-Hulk: Love the comics, Loved the series, 4th wall breaking, DD smashing, the whole shebang. Solid mini upgrade from the comic version as well :D Baby Owl (featuring Hawkeye): Meh figure, aside from his shirt, Bows are a hard thing for Lego to do well but I do like the new bow piece. Lucky the Pizza Dog (featuring Kate Bishop): Halee stanfield killed it as Kate and my dog looks like lucky so it's a win for me. Goliath: Looks good, but context will be needed to see if it's worth it. Echo: Hell yes, Comic Echo is a great character and The show seems to be sticking to it's roots. Beast:The mug is great, shape of the hair is great. Storm: Storm with a mohawk is featured more in the comics than the show, but it's a great look to differentiate it from the Blackbird set and it's in keeping with her current look. Wolverine: Might feel a bit redundant but better printing and a more '97 look is good.
THELEGOBATMAN Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 The quality of the minifigures is exceptional — it's a shame that I don't care about ¾ of them. My favourites are the X-Men (mostly because it's such a rarity for LEGO). Wolverine looks exceptional. Shame that there's no buildable Sentinel. I wish they'd make X-Men '97 sets. The minifigures are awesome, but it's barely ¼ of the characters they could give us.
PsychoBuilder Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 Are we 100% sure there’s no buildable sentinel? I don’t remember any extra details about the other parts, but I also could see them not including those random body elements on a character sheet.

How do you build a Sentinel body with just a few parts? It wouldn't look good at all, and that big head would make it even more ridiculous. Not to mention the head has printing with a lot of damage, the Sentinel isn't even active.
Borex Posted July 30, 2023 Posted July 30, 2023 (edited) I want the X-men, She-hulk (with on her phone her cousin the Hulk calling?) and Goliath. Edited July 30, 2023 by Borex

I'd kill for a LEGO Man-Thing but he'd need to be a bigfig or brick-built with some specialized molds and definitely wouldn't fit in a cmf. Scarlet Scarab and Ms. Marvel also would have been good to replace the other 2 X-Men. That said, if they had made a proper X-Men set, there's absolutely no way we would have gotten nearly as much detail on these figures. We're lucky we ever get leg printing on non-cmf Marvel minifigs because somehow LEGO has always missed the point that the superheros are the most important part of a superhero line... 3 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: You‘re right! I will say the head that comes with Wolverine will be a nice option to swap out with the existing Sentinel for those of us who have it. Who knows, maybe they'll release a new one at some point that will also be compatible with it.
Mandalorianknight Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 The sentinal is definately not happening. For it to be the size the head implies, the parts would be spread over all 12 figures, not two others like the leaks claimed. And if it is included, just the parts aren't being shown, why only show the head? Someone saw the head, made an assumption, and lost.
hvader Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 Moral of the story: dont get hyped about leaks until we get official images

The difference is important. I've never read the comics - just seen the Disney+ show. I don't dislike that both are in the series - in a lot of ways, it does make sense - it just isn't my preference (especially since I think the Mr. Knight design, while accurate, is fairly basic in my opinion). I think someone completely different (Scarab, Khonsu, etc) would have been more interesting is all. 8 hours ago, SamVimes said: WBN: If you haven't seen the short, you don't get an opinion. Again, with no comic background, all that I have is what's on Disney+. I've never been a fan of mohawks on anybody, Lego or not, but it's an easy enough fix for me to make her more like the older cartoon look with the down, long hair. Again, happy to those who know the character from those other sources and are getting what they want! I also never got the old X-men sets, so these are all new minifigs for me. 8 hours ago, THELEGOBATMAN said: The quality of the minifigures is exceptional — it's a shame that I don't care about ¾ of them. Sounds like a great summary of nearly every minifig series ever, haha. It does stink that we can't just get the handful of ones we might want from the store (or, for that matter, army-build for future series) - the options are to either buy a full set (at about retail), or get loose ones online from resellers (at higher prices, especially for ones that will be more popular, like the X-men probably will be). 1 hour ago, Mandalorianknight said: Someone saw the head, made an assumption, and lost. So, what you're saying is, we all kind of lost our heads over this? ...Don't worry, I hear your booing, I'm leaving now... I do hope that the printing on these minifigs looks good IRL though. The Disney 100 series had some issues with some of the figures (especially the legs, like with Robin Hood). I could see some of these potentially having similar issues, but hopefully that's just me overthinking things.

Give me a parts limit here and I’ll see what I can do, I’m still out of state but I’ll be back to my computer in a couple days. If I can’t pull it off, idk, I’ll eat a minifig or something, I remember someone doing a bet like that.
