Is it possible that when people say "Ravager Groot is coming with Rocket," they mean he's coming as a small side build to go with Rocket - like how Groot had the cassette tape? It would solve some of the current confusion.

Out of everything announced, I think I'm the most excited for the X-jet/Blackbird. $80 is a lot for me to spend on one set, so hopefully it's packed with minifigs I'd really want. I could also see the set potentially having a Sentinel sidebuild, so it has "conflict" for a playset. I also hope there aren't too many characters that end up being exclusive to the X-Mansion - hopefully it has desirable recolors of existing characters instead (maybe labcoat Beast, black suit Storm, and undershirt/Logan Wolverine, as some ideas?), but I know it's a but naïve to think that.

Edit: I just looked up the old X-Jet set, and... Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm expecting, just with bigger and more detailed builds, with swapped out minifigs (five or six, hopefully?)

Was there a reason why Lego only ever decided to do the Deadpool set in 2012 and then the X-Men jet in 2014 and leave it at that for X-Men?  It can’t have been to do with Sony or they wouldn’t have been able to release the 2014 version.

76277 War Machine Mech - $15.99

76278 Rocket's Warbird - $34.99

76280 No Way Home Set - $34.99 (Build is Sandman, includes 3 figs?)

76281 X-Men Jet - $79.99

76292 Captain America 4 Set - $49.99

Definitely picking these up (especially the X-Jet!)! I am actually optimistic about the War Machine mech (of all things), since he is one of the few characters who needs/would use one. I really like that we are getting follow-up sets for GotG1 and NWH, and I hope that this trend continues!
Who are we thinking will appear in the Blackbird? My guess would be Cyclops, Jean, Rogue, Gambit, and Magneto - All of these are classic, iconic, characters from the original show, and ones who are retuning for ‘97. Professor X could appear instead of Magneto, but I feel like the set will include at least one antagonist.

76275 Venom and Doc Ock - $10.99 (possibly a venomized Doc Ock?)

76279 Spiderman Car - $29.99

I might pick these up if the Minifigs are good enough; hopefully 76279 includes a spider other than Peter or Miles (2099 would be great!).

1.) Disney likely did not want to market Fox’s property (as they owned the film rights to the X-Men at the time).
2.) Deadpool got an R-rated movie in 2016 which set the tone for the character as one who is decidedly not child-friendly!

I prefer they don't try and shoehorn a Sentinel in with the jet. Both builds are only going to suffer from having a reduced piece count. Just keep the focus on the jet itself and release a Sentinel later as a separate set. If the jet needs conflict it can always come in the form of a minifigure like Magneto or Sinister.

I also don't mind if the X-Mansion just recycles the existing CMF figures of Wolverine, Storm and Beast if it frees up the budget for introducing more new characters like Nightcrawler or Bishop. Having such a large selection of characters was one of the things that really elevated the Daily Bugle above the Sanctum Sanctorum. Costume variants are great for long running themes but when there's so few X-Men available at the moment, expanding the roster should be a bigger priority.

The decision came from Marvel itself. Shortly after Days of Future Past came out both the X-Men and Fantastic Four were blacklisted from getting any merchandise or media tie-ins. It didn't just affect Lego but other companies like Hasbro and Funko as well. Supposedly it was due to some behind the scenes drama between Marvel and Fox Studios. Once Disney bought out Fox the decision was reversed and we were able to get X-Men product again.

In an unforseen turn of events, Moon Knight became one of my favs of the wave. Truly the Falcon Captain America fig of this series. Can’t wait for Sept 1st even tho they’ll be sold out in 2 seconds.

apparently both Lizard and Sandman are brickbuilt.

What's the source on that?

It's been mentioned that Sandman is brickbuilt (and I didn't see it happening any other way), but Lizard? That would look really rough.

A NWH expansion would be great if it really would connect to the first set. Maybe they can make Lady Liberty her torch build on black slope pieces to put next to it? In that case i need to buy the former set as well. Brick build Sandman i understand, but i don’t think a brick build Lizard will be in the set. I mean why would he be brickbuild? That makes no sense. Plus it would be great if we could make a good comic Lizard out of him (when you’re more of a classic comic guy instead of a movie fan)

x-men Jet: i really hope it will differ enough from the first, so that i can display them both. I expect three figs, Magneto as villain (because everybody knows him), cyclops and maybe rogue to add a female to the set. The others are probably in the rumored Mansion to complete the roster? I hope they will give us a good nightcrawler. Of course with a pointy ear headpiece and hopefully a new tail piece so you can hang him upside down as well.

All the other sets stand or fall with good or bad minifigs in my opinion. We have good Doc Ocks, Venoms etc already

According to 1414FalconFan on Instagram, the x-Jet set is $79.99 for only 359 pieces, so 60 pieces less than the Marvels’ Hoopty ship.

That doesn’t fill me with confidence that we’re going to get a lot in that set…

223 pieces in the $50 captain America set. Is that bigfig level of price per piece do we think? After the hoopty I just don't know anymore

Big fig is certainly possible now

Bruh, I just noticed those pieces counts...

I was so excited for the X-Men set, but 80€ for 359 pieces? That's a 4+ level of piece count. I was hoping for a detailed build, like the recent Quinjet.

The Captain America set also has a terrible piece count.

Has Lizard in the new NWH set been confirmed by anyone? I’ve just watched Critics Cup on YouTube, who I’ve seen mentioned as the source on IG, and he says ‘hopefully we’ll get Lizard’ which doesn’t sound like confirmation to me…?

That’s a shocker if it’s true.  Just because it’s X-Men doesn’t mean that’s justifiable.

If the X-jet comes with a bigfig juggernaut or apocalypse then I will forgive the pieces and price 😂 I also hope if they have to put wolverine in it, it’ll at least be a leather jacket version instead of yellow suit.
would be amazing if the no way home one came with the final swing suit but it doesn’t make sense for the scene. Happy to complete the set of villains for the movie tho

Apparently, it comes with the Black & Gold suit.

Welp, there goes my excitement for the Blackbird. It has even less pieces than the buildable figures! Not to mention the Captain America set having a pitiful piece count too.

We all thought value for money with the Hoopty was a one-off fever dream, but alas it seems like this is the new pricing strategy moving forward.

Yes! Yes!! YESS!! An X-Men set!! :excited:

Also, holy brick separators, that's a lot of news all of the sudden :oh:

Anyhoo, 2024 appears to become an amazing year for Marvel.
So many appealing-sounding sets, even some of the mechs I don't actually have a thing for, so far.
Aside from the X-Men Jet, I'm most excited for the CA: BNW set.

I'm going to assume the X-Men set will be based on the animated series. Even if it won't contain Cyclops, I'll still have hopes we might get him later in that style.

Regards,
Mitch

Well everyone is expecting a certain large red character to show up... And the price could justify that... But it'll just be Cap, Falcon and Sabra. No Leader, Red Hulk or Serpent Society

It's *literally* a Marvel Studios CMF line, not a Marvel comics CMF. It does exactly what it says on the tin.

As clearly stated, I'm talking about the Marvel Superheroes theme in general, which includes movie, TV series, and comics inspired sets.  I'm aware that this CMF is *literally* based on Marvel Studios projects.

I think they mean the theme as a whole.

Thanks for understanding my comment!:)

I don’t think we’ll get the X-Mansion next year to be honest.  I can’t see Lego putting out the Avengers Tower and X-Mansion so close together.

The Black Panther bust and Hulkbuster - those were close together. A year apart for big Minifigure-compatible builds is totally fine.

That Blackbird price is big oof. I'd say I hope it comes with like six X-Men plus villains for that kind of price, but I'm sure it won't. I'll have to see if it's worthy even on sale.
