I'm looking at the survey leak image and it's 9 minifigs in that version of X-Mansion:

Prof X, Magento, Emma Frost, Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Beast, Mystique and Sabretooth. Other than the minifigs themselves I don't think actually as unfinished looking as some are saying.

4 figures included in the x jet set apparently.

4 is sub-standard for a set of that price.

The Sentinels will be back as well so I can see them as part of either of the two sets.

I hope we get one that uses an undamaged version of the exact head Wolverine has in the CMF.

Spero che ne avremo uno che usi una versione intatta della testa esatta che Wolverine ha nel CMF.

It's head 2014 :-/ I hope we get something new and better

It's the same part yes but I'm taking about a matching print design and part colour, which (other than the damage) is where the CMF one is different to the 2014 one.

mtdbricks is loaded like a spring today! first suggested 4 minifigures for x-jet, now spider gwen in venomized goblin set. I don't follow reddit, maybe he takes the info from there?

I've noticed that for past Marvel sets, there are usually no more than three exclusive minifigures in a set. Minor exception include D2Cs. Normally, we get multiple sets with repeat figures, or the price is reduced. Neither action is seemingly being taken to increase set number or reduce the price.

I believe the four minifigures in the X-Jet will be exclusive, but I imagine a couple of them will be included in the X-Mansion if it's a D2C.

Is he known to be a reliable source?  Cause he also claimed that the car was a recoloured autoMORBile ?

4 figs in an $80 set with ~350 pieces is disgusting. It's like the Hoopty, only worse, because I actually care about the X-men and would have bought the set had it not apparently been double the price it should be.

I'm going to hold out a sliver of hope, though. The well of souls was another 4 figure set rumored to be $80 at one point that turned out to be $40. Probably only a fool's hope, but hope nonetheless.

He mentioned the NWH set first on the list, so I started to believe him. I just wanted to know if anyone on reddit is sharing the same information, because not following reddit I can't know it directly.. the recolored car could be a similar car, not exactly the same (which would be a bit strange)

the world is divided into “before hoopty” and “after hoopty”. After hoopty even the worst case scenario can be real…

The Hasbro X-jet features Storm. I'm guessing we'll probably get a repeat of at least Storm. Sure she can fly the jet, but also fly alongside it. That way, Lego has an excuse not to make 4 minifigs fit inside. If the 4th minifig is a villain, then there's the perfect excuse why the build is small. LOL

It's possible that if this X-Jet sells well (although that may be difficult at its price for the size and piece count) that eventually they'll remake a larger, more scale accurate X-Jet that can actually fit the whole team rather than only 3/4 minifigures.

If the jet is single-seat like the Hasbro toy, enlarging it won't be enough to let in other characters :-D for that we'll have to wait for a new Blackbird.. However I'll do my part and buy at least three copies, I absolutely want the line to continue

Assuming there actually are four minifigs, I think that they will probably be:

  • Wolverine (very popular and recognizable).
  • One of the flying X-men ladies (Storm or Rogue) - so there can be "action/play" outside of the jet.
  • A third X-men, who might act as the pilot of the jet:
    • If Rogue is the flyer, then probably Gambit since they are a couple.
    • If Storm is the flyer, then it's a bit more up in the air. Probably one of the X-men that are new to the permanent team, which would also help advertise it as a '97 set.
  • A villain of some variety (I'll guess Mr. Sinister actually - again to help highlight the new show).

I'm up in the air as to whether there will be a Sentinel or not... The last one had one, and Lego could potentially be making one out of new, large molded parts (which might help explain the cost), but I wouldn''t be shocked if it wasn't the case. I just hope the minifigures look good...

I was reading mark Stafford's brickset design notes on the Hoopty, I feel sorry for him cause it does look like quite a nice model but it'll be trashed because of the price, which he clearly had no power over.

I mean I was almost gonna guess the hoopty was motorized somehow when the price and the size of the thing didn't line up, but no...

Hope is dangerous, but there's a reason the blue lantern corp is my favourite . I can only hope that your hope comes true.

Maybe they can make a Sentinel mecha with a Bolivar Trask to ride/control it. That could be an useful mecha in its marvel mecha line and i would buy more than one.

Just read the notes. I like Mark Stafford, his idea that lead to the Bugle (my fav Marvel set to date) likely lead to the Marvel Modular line (if 2 sets with another on way is a line). He is always open with the fans (as much as office politics allows) with AMAs and occasionally on here (though its no surprise he hasn't posted on this thread in a while). He seems like a genuine fan of superheroes and lego and even his most criticized sets aren't actually bad sets design wise (if I had a free wing of my imaginary mansion and unlimited money to buy a giant Black Panther bust I certainly would). Even he can see the backlash coming from the fans at the Hoopty set. I would love to know how a budget is assigned to a set and the thought process behind it whether they are testing the market to see if they will sell or increased license fees or we have X price ranges to fill but 90% of budget has gone on the rest of the wave so do the minimum with this set. Im not a PPP person (Ive bought Jurassic Park sets ) but something is off with the Hoopty and potentially the X-Jet sets (aswell as the amount of buildable figures/lack of new characters) that makes me think I should go into a "Gray" (not quite a Dark) Age and pop my head up whenever a Marvel Modular turns up. (Please let Avengers Tower be good as leaked minifig list for it doesnt excite me much)

Only four minifigures is incredibly lackluster. No doubt Cyclops will be among them. Hopefully the others are fresh new characters and not just repeats of ones we've gotten in the past. Jean, Rogue and Gambit would be the ideal line up but if it has to include a villain then Mr. Sinister would be preferable over another Magneto.

I hope they leave the Sentinel out. The 2014 mech was too small and the X-Jet doesn't need a side build eating away at its already low piece count.

Better that Lego just surprises us with a Sentinel Construction Figure in the summer wave.

Goliath's head sadly doesn't look much like Lawrence Fishburne so either LEGO did a poor job of recreating him, or it's someone else under the helmet in What If S2.

Yeah it doesn’t look at Lawrence Fishburne at all :-(

But i do like the Goliath minifig. He’s on my wanted list

Magneto in X-Men '97 is a hero now and an official X-Man so I can see him taking the place of one of the flying characters speculated in the X-Jet set. His costume is very similar to the one he wore in the last X-Jet set but with a giant M on his chest now.

If there is a villain minifigure included, it would probably have to be one who can fly or is associated with the Sentinels if a Sentinel is included. Sinister doesn't really fit and would seem a weird choice to pair with the X-Jet imo.

I'm hoping the four minifigures are just Cyclops, Jean, Rogue, and Gambit. Jubilee can hopefully pop up in the X-Mansion set along with some repeats and maybe some new team members. I'm very curious if they'll include Professor X or not since he's presumably not in the show anymore, not on Earth anyway.

A single-seat jet would be very disappointing. What's the point of having four figures if only one can fit in the jet? I'll buy it anyway especially for the hope we can get a bigger version later.

I do wonder if they still plan on using that purple costume or if its only intended to appear for the first couple of episodes? I don't think its been showcased again since Comic Con last year and all the merchandise and marketing material for X-Men 97 so far has been depicting him back in the classic red costume.

I know the Hasbro toy is a one seater but I don't know why people think the one in the show is.

I tried and failed to embed the tweet

I mean it looks bigger than a one seater here ( behind Magento) and of course the Hasbro one would be small, to be large and in scale with the action figures would make it a huge thing.

That one looks just like the Blackbird though, the Hasbro one is very different. I'm rewatching the series on Disney Plus and the x-men have always used smaller jets when traveling solo. The design is different from the Hasbro jet, but they may have just updated the design for the new show…

also I thought the scale of the Hasbro action figures might make it look smaller, but the structure is very synthetic, nothing suggests it could have a interior, even in a different scale. Then the count of Lego pieces convinced me that it was single seater (or at most could contain two minifigures…)

I think some early designs changed because Storm didn't have her mohawk originally when the show was announced. Sunspot's powered up form also looks like it might be different from the white costume he's wearing in newer promo materials so it's possible they scrapped the Magneto costume for his classic one. It's also possible that he'll wear this new M costume in the show but they didn't bother to make any merchandise for it since it's never been a very popular look.
