The potential 2nd captain America set isn’t this far away from the other one set numbers wise I’m pretty sure. This should be something else

THELEGOBATMAN Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 Built the No Way Home set, it's fantastic. I love self-contained sets like this. The build is awesome, and I love the minifigures (Green Goblin and Doc Ock are the only ones lacking imo).

It’s my favourite Marvel set this year, and the AT has to really deliver to top it The Endgame set is not quite on the same level, but still a great set. I hope they continue with vignettes like this. They could easily be Marvel’s equivalent to the dioramas!

Easily the best Marvel set this year, and unfortunately, the only one that interests me as a set (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 sets weren't good, bought the smallest one as a representation of the incredible movie ).
BrickBob Studpants Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 I hope they’ll take advantage of the movie gap next year by releasing more Infinity Saga sets. My biggest wish right now would be a DS set featuring Kaecilius, mostly because I want a Mads Mikkelsen minifig Isn’t it supremely ironic that the currently most famous Danish actor (arguably even of all time) just cannot get represented by the most famous Danish toy company even if his life depended on it, despite having roles in so many major franchises? Out of his characters, Kaecilius is the only one with even a remote chance at this point. Not particularly likely, but then again, they do like to shove Dr Strange in all sorts of sets lately. Fingers crossed

Fingers crossed I'd love to get a Kaecilius, but what could they do with Dr. Strange? From a toy/movie perspective, it really is a very boring movie. Lord knows nobody will buy the set for Dr. Strange or Wong figures, and minifig collectors know Ancient One is a very cheap and undesirable fig. I really think Kaecilius's time to be included was the Sanctum set, and it's passed. That said, more guardians figs would always be welcome. "Collector" museum sets would fly off of the shelves if they did it a la the Iron Man armory sets. Great opportunity to get Collector, Howard, Cosmo, and Drax figs.

Ego is my number one character to get from the infinity saga. Also an updated Wasp.
Legocentrico Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 it's incredible that all the main villains of the guardians are missing except Ronan, and lego decides to make a set with him ^___^
TheJackBricks Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 Is it possible that the NWH set will be a buildable Lizard with a minifig sandman? In the movie Sandman was pretty similar in height to other characters (Notably in Happy's Apt), and I can't see LEGO doing 2 buildable figs/mechs in 1 set but I hope they include Lizard. Ideally: Buildable Lizard, maybe a scaffolding piece, Sandman minifig (all sand features) with sand effects (similar to Bugle) and Spider-Man (any of them, Tom's will be the easiest)
HarmfulEmpire Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 Do we know which Captain America is included in the Marvel 2023 Advent Calendar?

Aside from a cheaper version of the Sanctum (like the one that we originally got for the movie), a Hong Kong battle set could work and have some really cool time-reversal play features.

Lizard is only slightly bigger than other characters in the movie. He doesn't even need a big-fig, yet alone a whole buildable figure. Sandman, on the other hand, will work really well as a buildable figure.

Well you should get the idea by now.

How to destroy a promising set in 20 words or less I seriously hope that is not the case. As @THELEGOBATMAN points out, it wouldn’t make much sense scale-wise and there’s no way a brickbuilt Lizard would look any good, unless it’s huge to allow for some proper shaping. There are a ton of well-designed brickbuilt creatures out there, but movie Lizard is too humanoid for that. Sandman works in that format since he’s more abstract-looking anyway, being made of sand. Plus he can change his size at will, so making him a larger figure works fine Edited August 20, 2023 by BrickBob Studpants
THELEGOBATMAN Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 I actually find it really surprising that we've gotten five Sandman minifigures so far (and even a Duplo figure), yet not a single buildable one.

I think a Dark Dimension diorama with a brick-built Dormammu could be a very cool set. (Kaecilius was never shown in the Dark Dimension, but so what, he can be included anyway.) And for Guardians of the Galaxy, I know another Ronan is coming anyway so this wouldn't get us any new characters, but I'd love to see a "Guardians Dance-Off" vignette.
