What will be your reaction if we don't get a big fig Hulk in the UCS Avenger's Tower?

I'd be glad if he was a minifig Instead, even better would be a new bigfig design. It'd be nice if the current bigfig design was finally at an end, but seeing Thanos in that endgame set doesn't give me hope.

The current bigfig design with (re)movable head has only been introduced two years ago :poke: Jk jk, I know you mean the hunched-over design. I don‘t see them changing that anytime soon though, as it‘s been established for more than ten years now. It‘s not exactly akin to changing the classic minifig design, but many people still grew fond of it. Personally, I wouldn‘t want it changed.

I've been so busy irl it feels like ages since I've commented here. I have so much to say hope I can keep this concise.

OH MY GOODNESS LEGO X MEN ARE BACK!! Yes the all caps is mildly embarrassing but you know what I'm genuinely excited about it. The inclusion of 3 X Men in the cmf is refreshing but also the rumors of both a X Jet and X Mansion? I have to say I'm ecstatic for their return but more specific thoughts below.

  • I feel that for $70 the X Jet should have brought more than 4 figures. We got 4 for $40 so for nearly double the price of our first X Jet I was hoping we would get more figures I mean at least 1 more but I'm kind of let down by that. I'm personally hoping/betting on Magneto vs Cyclops, Jean Grey and Gambit. None would need new moulds which is a plus.
  • X Mansion - I am kind of worried about this one. When all those Lego leaks happened recently quite a few came true. We got Rivendell just as it appeared in those initial leaks. I remember thinking the buildable Simba looked so official and we ended up getting an announcement for both it and the buildable Donald Duck that were part of those initial leaks. So back to the X-Mansion, the reason I am worried is because all the leaks have been super accurate so far and that leaked X-Mansion was a huge let down and needed quite a bit of revisioning. And by that I mean a complete redesign. To be specific ;
  • The gate was a shallow and dull build, plus the grey and black color scheme did not match the beige tan of the actual mansion
  • Grey studs exposed at the front facing side of the mansion and studs exposed on the roof, needed some sort of creative architecture I mean its a mansion or crying out loud.
  • Cyclops is in his 90's gear which is perfect but Mystique is in her nude Fox fit. Why? No she should have her white dress and now that I think about it this is the most likely placeholder as they would never release a nude figure let alone one that is not in theme with the other figures in her set because as of now she appears to be the only cinematic design included
  • The inclusion of Beast, Storm and Wolverine is both comical and infuriating. I hope this is one of those cases of leaked figures being moved to other media. Beast and Storm being moved to the CMF series and chosen to be replaced by other characters would be a dream come true because I would hate for half of the protagonists to be repeats. That said Beast seems to be in his lab suit so at least it appears there may be. variant for him. I'll say I'm still hoping for a new mould for Storms long white hair and crown.
  • Sabertooths inclusion is exciting I hope he is also comic based with the same fur piece used for Kraven

And now to comment on the figs I got. I decided to buy a scale and try that method as I don't want too many repeats as I already have an extra She Hulk and Wolverine. That said my first She Hulk had chipped legs and hips so I chose to keep her spare and I adore this Wolverine design so I'm fine for now but don't want too much excess moving forward.

  • Storm is perfect and so exciting but god I wish I got Beast gotta ensure I buy him soon. if I get an extra I'll recreate the OG 90's Storm everyones been doing with the Ghost Buster Librarians tussled white hair piece
  • Wolverine is amazing and although the yellow on his legs sometimes seep through the blue tights I still adore him
  • Hawkeye is so charming and does a great job of capturing Jeremy Renners likeness
  • She Hulk is one of my favorite Marvel characters for literally no reason lol I never watched her show or read a comic of hers (and I do read comics) I just fell in love with her design as a kid and latched onto it so yeah she's great
  • Werewolf by Night is just so great and you really see the human in him in both the MCU makeup and in the figure. It's the best figure ever produced in terms of capturing that Wolf-Man likeness imo the lighter print to represent his human underside but with the thick brown fur printed over tells a really great story about the character and is a lovely figure to have in person. Ofc we can always get a comic based Werewolf by Night which would be much more wolf like in snout and may even need to use an existing Werewolf head piece or new one, but this Wolf-Man looking figure (which seems to are pretty accurate to the special they did for him on Disney +) has a special place in my heart

And I'll cut this short by saying I have recently chosen to try photographing some Lego sets on my own so I chose to photograph different Lego Marvel sets and realized I wanted to photograph phases 1-4 and so on. So naturally I needed something for phase 2 and I'm so excited for the Stark Tower and I can finally have a build to stand in for my phase 2 pictures. I have also decided to buy War on the Water for my phase 4 contribution but you know I'm not huge on the MCU sets so I won't be a completionist and I'm really only looking for a few sets/figures from each Phase to photograph but it's exciting because up until now I've only been working with comic based figures and I feel like I have something else to be excited about. I ended up also ordering the retiring Hall of Armor at 30% off and props to that bc it was not worth 90 bucks but I'm elated to get a Whiplash figure.

I would'nt be surprised if we get a small display circle the original Avengers in the pose from the first Avengers film given how much nostalgia would help the set sell. I think they'd be daft not to include all the core Phase 1 Avengers, heck, throw in both a Bruce figure with a double-sided face (Transformation face) and a big fig Hulk.

The worst pain will be if its a Hulk big fig, but it's just a repeat of the previous big figs rather than an updated one.

oh no, come on, I want to exclude this :-D after years of absence and the new Thanos, Lego can't go back! I want to believe that it's bigfig and that it's new, my real fear is that, for some absurd reason, it's the one from Age of Ultron :-OOO

Ehh, I don't see this one happening. I can imagine them updating it a bit, but they're too deep in to do a whole redesign, it would look so out of place next to the older ones. Sort of a catch-22 thing going on here.

Why would they? Like this has never happened before, and would be a logistic nightmare absolutely not worth the effort for them.

Not that failing to include a hulk would cause lego to "fix the set" by adding one, since it's something they'd consciously decide to not do before releasing it, but they have "fixed" sets after the fact before. Wall-E comes to mind as a structural issue with a part pack mailed out to fix the neck joint. The resistance bomber from star wars is a more comparable situation, where lego inexplicably decided that the fact that a generic pilot was included instead of named extra Finch Dallow was inexcusable and made new prints to "fix the set" for the final production run, and even mailed Finch figs to people who could prove they got earlier copies of the set.

Is there a new leak of the X-Mansion? I thought we wouldn't get one till the spring of 2024.

Google “Lego X-Men Mansion leak.” It’ll pop up under images.

I don't think that image was final and it could change drastically. I doubt we'd get more info about what it looks like until it's near the date when it's being released (Like the Avengers Tower).

So far everything else that has leaked and then released has looked like it has in those pictures. Not saying this will be the case for the X-Mansion, but I think it’s a fairly safe assumption that what we saw is what we’re getting. Only thing that I expect will change is the figure designs (not the line-up), kinda like how in the catalog preliminaries that usually leak the builds turn out to be fairly accurate to the final models and only the figures designs change.

Rivendell was a final model when that was leaked, and it was NOT a part of that survey per the person who took the survey. Most of the models in the survey were concepts of what sets would look like if they were released, and sets like the Sail Barge, for example, were VERY clearly not how the final product would look. I don't think we know which will look like the final models (if they all release) or not at this point.

The Wall-E thing is actually fixing a real issue, I was thinking something more among the lines of the SW thingy.

Side note, I had never heard of that (I do not like Star Wars, I just like looking at cool spaceships piew piew) but I already love that story. It's such a bizarre thing to do. Keep up the good job, Lego.

Wait, what? I followed the situation pretty closely back then and I had no idea they even did that  That is actually hilarious, considering that the minifig now goes for over $800 on Bricklink *huh* And here I thought I massively overpaid when I got mine early on for $200.

Exactly. Stability issues require fixing, but fans throwing a hissy fit over a minifig does not.

I'm pretty sure minifigures already in production don't add to the cost of a set. That's the benefit of having the CMF series and X-Jet come out first. As a hypothetical scenario lets say the X-Mansion has the design budget for eight new minifigures.

  • The CMF has already provided Wolverine, Storm and Beast
  • The X-Jet provides Cyclops, Jean Grey, Rogue and Gambit

That's seven minifigures now available in addition to the eight spots from the mansion's design budget. Now the X-Mansion can include:

  • Wolverine, Storm, Beast, Cyclops, Jean, Rogue and Gambit as recycled minifigures
  • Professor X, Jubilee, Bishop, Sunspot, Magneto, Mystique, Sabretooth and Mr. Sinister as new exclusive minifigures

The exception to this would be if one of the preexisting characters has a costume change. If Beast came with a lab coat then that new torso and leg print would be coming out of the mansion's budget, taking away a spot that could have otherwise gone towards a new character instead.

The leaked image looked like an early concept for an X-Men set that took inspiration from a number of different sources. The tan colors in particular are definitely more reminiscent of the mansion seen in the Fox movies than the browns from the cartoon.

As a product likely based directly on X-Men 97 I think the model will have to undergo some changes to closer reflect what we see on the show.

Keep in mind, this is a line where we can't get cloth waistcapes anymore, and sets get more and more expensive, but no, it was imperative that the correct extra be added to the set. Now, are we going to get an accurate version of Huyang mailed out? (The droid is tan in the set, but white/sand blue in the show)? Never.

Anyway, point being, while it'd be incredibly odd for any sort of post-release update to happen, it has before.

Yeah, a friend of mine got one in the mail directly from lego because he had the box still and was able to provide whatever info was on there. I remember I was jealous back then because I chose the FO SD instead of the bomber, and there we go...

Nightcrawler and Morph will also be part of the main X-Men team. On top of that, new merchandise has just been revealed featuring the Goblin Queen (Jean Grey's clone/Dark Phoenix 2.0) and baby Cable. And we know the future Cable will have a major part in the show as well, especially with Mr. Sinister as the big bad.

Moreso than the minifigures, I'm curious about what rooms the X-Mansion will have. Because the parts of the mansion that most people associate with it are the subbasement levels like the Danger Room, Cerebro, the X-Jet hangar, the War Room, holding cells, Beast's lab, the medical bay, etc. And I have no idea how they plan on incorporating all the underground rooms as part of the house since the set doesn't seem like it'll be big enough to be like the Gringotts set where there's a detachable underground section. I wonder if this will be a Jabba's Palace/Rancor Pit scenario where the subbasement levels will come out later as a separate set that fits underneath the actual mansion.

The actual mansion is mostly associated with classrooms because of the movies but the movies are what established Xavier's school as having hundreds of students. The 90s show did not depict the mansion as being primarily a school, so outside of Xavier's office and the bedrooms of the X-Men, I can't imagine what they'd even include in the upper levels.

The very obvious answer that absolutely no one wants to hear is they can just take the underground rooms and make them above ground rooms. Cerebro? Throw it upstairs. The danger room? Throw it upstairs. Same with the War Room, Beast’s lab, the medical bay, and the obligatory holding cell (which surprisingly is actually a thing from the source material this time around). Is it accurate to the source material? Nope. Is your average 13 year old going to care so long as they’ve got a cool Mansion that features all the rooms they recognize from the TV series? Probably not.

I would not get anywhere near that number regardless, but I still was annoyed to find that something like half my manuals don't even qualify. Most because the sets are too old, or don't have QR codes for whatever reason (Duplo doesn't, the storybooks don't, and so on ...). One has a slight smudge on the QR code so it doesn't get recognised either. At the very least there should be an option to take a pic and send it in if the last thing happens, but I couldn't even find that.

As much as I would love this lineup, I think that we're going to have some kind of a villain in the set so there can be some kind of "play conflict" for kids, since we know there's no Sentinel for the X-Men to fight. Other than that, I think your prediction is pretty sound.

Top Left row back to front:

Giant Man, Kate, Hawkeye, Echo, Echo, Agatha, Wolverine, Agatha, Wolverine.
Top Right row back to front:

Beast, Kate, Hawkeye, Storm, Storm, Storm, Echo, Agatha, Wolverine.
Bottom Left row back to front:

Hawkeye, Mr. Knight, She Hulk, Moon Knight, Warewolf, Warewolf, Moon Knight, Giant Man, Beast

Bottom Right row back to front:
