Cerebro? Throw it upstairs. The danger room? Throw it upstairs. Same with the War Room, Beast’s lab, the medical bay, and the obligatory holding cell (which surprisingly is actually a thing from the source material this time around). Is it accurate to the source material? Nope. Is your average 13 year old going to care so long as they’ve got a cool Mansion that features all the rooms they recognize from the TV series? Probably not. I could see that. When the X-Men debuted in the 60s, the mansion didn't really have a subbasement. Cerebro was a computer part of Xavier's office and the Danger Room was literally just a bare room which would lock from the outside and then all the machinery and traps would come out. It wasn't its own underground chamber with a viewing booth as we know it today (that started in the 70s). Another thing to remember is that the spherical room with long runway that we associate with Ceebreo today was a creation of the movies. In the show, it's just a helmet that comes out from the ceiling. So it wouldn't be that far fetched to move everything to the upper floors. I would still like to see some of the X-Men's bedrooms like Storm's attic with her plants.

Agent Kallus Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 Do we know ( or have a vague idea) of the footprint and UK price for the Avengers tower set? I'm guessing like 32 x 48 and about £400, does that sound about right?

LegendaryArticuno Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 (edited) Age of Apocalypse/Amazing X-Men is probably my favourite universe... but I have doubts LEGO will ever visit this period. While not R-rated like Deadpool with gore and profanity, it does have a bit of sex/suggestive themes LOL. If I recall, Quicksilver is actually leader of the X-Men and the Sentinels are quite brutal. That's the benefit of having the CMF series and X-Jet come out first. As a hypothetical scenario lets say the X-Mansion has the design budget for eight new minifigures. The CMF has already provided Wolverine, Storm and Beast The X-Jet provides Cyclops, Jean Grey, Rogue and Gambit That's seven minifigures now available in addition to the eight spots from the mansion's design budget. Now the X-Mansion can include: Wolverine, Storm, Beast, Cyclops, Jean, Rogue and Gambit as recycled minifigures Professor X, Jubilee, Bishop, Sunspot, Magneto, Mystique, Sabretooth and Mr. Sinister as new exclusive minifigures The exception to this would be if one of the preexisting characters has a costume change. If Beast came with a lab coat then that new torso and leg print would be coming out of the mansion's budget, taking away a spot that could have otherwise gone towards a new character instead. The leaked image looked like an early concept for an X-Men set that took inspiration from a number of different sources. The tan colors in particular are definitely more reminiscent of the mansion seen in the Fox movies than the browns from the cartoon. As a product likely based directly on X-Men 97 I think the model will have to undergo some changes to closer reflect what we see on the show. I agree that the leak seemed to take inspiration from multiple sources and this is a point of contention for me. I feel like instead of getting a half baked Fox/half baked cartoon mansion, I’d find it more satisfying to just focus on one source material (namely the 97 cartoon) and focus on getting that right instead of scrambling to cram different X-Men media in this. I also understand your point about the repeat figures opening up budget for other new designs but keep in mind the initial leak had only the following characters; Professer X, Cyclops, Wolverine, Beast, Storm, Emma Frost, Magneto, Sabertooth, Mystique. I would appreciate the repeat figures opening up space for orher characters if they end up actually being included. So naturally I hope the roster expands because as it stand Professor X would be the only new character for the heroes (Emma Frost being an anti hero makes her flexible in terms of where you place her I personally count her with the villains). So yeah hopefully they end up actually adding more people and fixing that hideous roof design lmao. Also recently ordered and built the retiring Iron Man armory which I got for 27% off. Wish it was a full 30 percent to be honest lol I cannot believe they had the audacity to charge $100 for this initially. Amazing set with amazing figures but incredibly inflated which seems to be the consensus for this set. The quintessential Iron Man 2 set all we need now is Whiplash in his prison pants and shirtless Nascar face off design and another set with Natasha vs a few of those Hammer droids. War Machine is precious he’s one of my favorite figures at the moment. Also in love with the new helmet mould it is much better in person. Might end up picking up that Iron Man 1 Hammer mech set because of how much I loved this armory. So good. Needed a better discount lol kind of regretting jumping on that purchase should have checked a local Ross for a better deal lol
Legocentrico Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Speaking of War Machine, we only have two mechs in January, and it seems strange that they both have dark colors.. Do you guys think it would be possible that Lego thought of something similar to Iron Patriot mark 2 to not make them too similar?

Is it accurate to the source material? Nope. Is your average 13 year old going to care so long as they’ve got a cool Mansion that features all the rooms they recognize from the TV series? Probably not. In the initial leak I keep referring to the lowest level had that misplaced grey color scheme right before the actual tan on the building began and this rocky grey color appears to be right above figure head height when placed behind the X Men and what I’m trying to say is it looks like they intend to have a very short lowest level that hovers right above the heads of mini figures which ill be a rocky grey almost sediment looking layer to the outside world but then on the inside if my intuition is correct should be the Hangar area. Makes the most sense to me. That said this level is very low so I imagine they would elevate it a bit to store the Jet. Least they should. but thats my problem with the Mansion leak. When I first saw the leaks I mistook and believed Rivendell was part of the survey but supposedly it was a separate leak meaning none of the survey sets have been officially revealed or released yet for us to compare how accurate the leaks were to the final product. In other words we have no point of reference for how much this could change but given the near release date I’m genuinely a bit concerned because while the Simba leak was incredible and looked like such an official build, the Mansion (which I otherwise wanted to be so excited about) needs so much work in terms figure selection, design, and architecture design. It just was the roughest leak for me personally but then again I adore the X Men. And speaking of mansions I’ll make a separate post later in the appropriate thread but I really hope we get a MCU Iron Man modular Malibu mansion with an interior Iron Man armory and a fully enclosed and accurate silhouette someday. We got the Sanctum Sanctorum, Avengers mansion and X Mansion soon so hopefully we can add Starks Malibu mansion to that someday as well. I say that after realizing I should have got the 2013 version of the set cause that was one of the best Iron Man sets we ever got. Edited September 20, 2023 by cosmic

I haven’t seen the Disney plus special yet but if that image is correct then he had blue slacks in the movie? I haven’t seen it in black and white yet can anyone confirm whether he had shorts or pants in the movie? Because if he indeed had blue slacks and never got them cut off halfway, and if those slacks don’t end up being green AND torn in half…. Then yes this figure is comic accurate! I’m gonna be honest when I say that makes me like him more lol. Also Mr Knight is comic accurate but not because he’s based off the comics but because the MCU design for Mr Knight is 1:1 with the source material. I would not personally consider the Moon Knight we got as comic accurate however he is definitely an MCU fig.

There are quite a few leaks to his name Return of mighty micros confirmed!! jk but if half of the X Jet roster ends up being Wolverine and Magneto I’ll be disappointed but not surprised. Takes me back to what i said before that since we’re paying 30 bucks more than the OG X Jet we should have gotten more figures as well. Also thanks for letting me know! Btw Is it just me or does Lego consistently half a** their X Men material? Storm did not get a new hair mould with her crown and flowy white locks in her 2014 debut. Then Wolverine does not get dual molded arms for his cmf figure, Beast gets no arm printing, the X Jet is half repeats AGAIN, and the rumored mansion has only 1 new X Men (being Professor X himself) and an ugly design? I’m happy for new X Men material but unpopular opinion Lego has cut some sort of corner every time they have produced content for the mutants. I even joke that Kamala was excluded from the CMF series once rumors circulated she would be a mutant moving forward lol.
