Happy for everybody who can afford $600 on lego. I'll be patiently waiting for cheaper leaks 🥲

I can afford it by not buying Rivendell and using up my VIP :purrr:

That said... it needs to be a good set on par with the Bugle or Sanctum.

Glad it's (maybe) finally here. I had planned to always support the Marvel modulars but at that price maybe not... :laugh_hard:

At that price and piece count though I bet it'll be a beauty.

At 1.5k more pieces than the Bugle, I wonder if it'll be significantly bigger or just more detailed?

Stark Tower is the most realistic option. It varies itself from the Daily Bugle as it'd likely be primarily tan as opposed to just windows like the AoU tower would be. In addition it opens itself up to a wide figure selection from Avengers Assemble and Avengers Endgame as you mentioned, while also enabling them to re-use other figures that have been released fairly recently to pad out the figure count. You also have the idea that with the Black Panther bust taking from 2018 to 2022 to release that an Avengers Endgame inspired Stark Tower could take from 2019 to 2023 to release.

AoU's tower simply has too many caveats that would be expected or required. I've already touched upon the design being too many windows like the Daily Bugle, but it also is featured in a limited way in the film - its most iconic scenes being internal such as the Party, Arrival of Ultron MK1 or Birth of Vision. I think if it is the AoU tower the biggest give away would be if the CMF series includes Infinity Ultron - as they'd likely want a cheaper 'Ultron' available so people would'nt be as mad if a new AoU Ultron was included in the $525 set.

To be honest I hardly even notice the difference between the panels vs. windows. The only change that really stands out to me is the top level above the landing pad. Having two alternate floors that can be swapped out would be an easy way to represent both versions of the tower but I'd be okay if they decide to stick with only one design.

Regardless which exterior they go with, the interior rooms should definitely be a hybrid of both towers.

600 is too much for LEGO... price is one problem but second one is size. I didn't buy Daily Bugle, only bricklinked some figures and parts of it (stickers, newspaper stand, cab) and build my own version, because I don't have space for something that huge. I cannot even imagine something bigger. In my opinion it is bad direction. It reduce a number of people who can buy it significantly

AoU's tower looks significantly different than Avengers 1's, though

This! I don't know why people chose to ignore this when talking about a potential avengers tower.

I agree. Even if the set ends up somehow being a good deal between price and what you get, I'm not spending 500€ on a lego set that I wont be able to fit anywhere

100% agreed. Continuing to pump out these crazy expensive sets is alienating a large part of TLG's customers, and I already heavily hestitated on $100 sets... With inflation, living expenses rising, exrtreme gas and electricity prices due to the war, etc. this is not a good look...

Having said that, these may be my two cents but wouldn't an Avengers tower be completely boring apart from the top? Do we even know what's on the other floor levels apart from the lab / common area for the Avengers at the top? I always felt, watching the movies, that the other levels were just random offices?

Also aesthetic wise, that thing is just not very pretty? IMO it would be cool if this set included little dioramas from all previous MCU entries, like one big collection of everything that has come before.
A primarily beige / grey / blue building just seems a bit... dry?

I think there's more than enough content to fill out each floor of the tower:

  • Chitauri device on the roof
  • Bar on the top floor (both in Avengers Tower and Stark Tower)
  • Tony's lab (AOU)
  • Infirmary (AOU)
  • Armory (AOU)
  • Iron Legion deployment (AOU)
  • Catwalk for Cap vs Cap fight (Endgame)
  • Lobby (Endgame)

Plus there's always room for creative freedom. The previous Avengers Tower set from 2020 included both a prison cell and an ARC reactor. They could even have a floor dedicated to Iron Man's Hall of Armor if they wanted to.

It is 2022 and AFOLs are excited for what will surely be a $500 Avengers Tower.

But this isn’t going to be that rumored X-mansion? Or a Baxter building? Or an Asgard set? Is there anyone out here who already knows?

You forgot 2015 and 2021. The Helicarrier and Daily Bugle were also speculated to be the Avengers Tower :laugh_hard:

I am tired of Eurobricks. These people. I am tired of being caught in the tangle of their lives (not).

This would truly be the worst LEGO Marvel year ever.

You say this so often, it has lost all meaning

I'm still optimistic. The Superheroes theme cant just be 3 Guardians set, a Marvels set, and a bunch of buidable figs for the whole year. The Infinity Saga wave was a massive hit, why would Lego just forget about it.

Does Lego get to choose what movies they make sets of? Or do they need to be grenlit fron Disney first?

I'd be interested to know more about this process too.

We dont know the process but 100% Disney would be involved.

Given interviews and whatnot though, it doesnt seem like Lego's Superheroes team are fans of the MCU, so fan-desired sets like Guardians 2 may not be in the cards unless Disney requests them?

Example: The Lightyear director made Buzz's spaceship windshield yellow in the movie so that Lego would reprint the trans yellow piece (he's a huge lego fan I guess)

Aaaannndd a very expensive D2C for Marvel as well...

I'm looking forward to finding out more.
It might be nothing to my liking and an easy pass, but I think, it'll be good... it'll be GREAT :sweet:

Sono ancora ottimista. Il tema dei supereroi non può essere solo 3 Guardians, un set Marvels e un mucchio di fichi ingannevoli per tutto l'anno. L'onda di Infinity Saga è stata un enorme successo, perché Lego dovrebbe dimenticarsene.

this thing does not let me sleep at night >:-(

I mean, we did get an infinity saga wave this year. And we know there's at least 1 more small infinity saga set coming.
