Many a time, growing much more common now that the cmfs aren't outsourced. Almost all the CMF bard's parts are in the D2C castle for example.

Ironically Wanda's hair isn't. It has a new print in the sanctum.

They might reuse a face or 2 but I expect the figures would be mostly different in the set, black outfit for storm for example.

Rarely, separated by several years. If we get any the three again, they'll probably be in different costumes like they did with Captain Carter. That's my guess.

I dont think that's necessarily true, especially for hair pieces. In particular the beanie with pigtails that came with the horse groomer has been used 2-3 times in the last year, and the same for Monica Rambeau's hair piece.

That said, I dont think CMF was ever (or at least it isnt now) marketed as the only way to get certain pieces. Moreso its just high enough PpP that we generally expect new ones in each fig.

I suspect that beast will use the same hairpiece that Wolverine has always used, cause it’s almost exactly the same in the series. Not sure if they’d do a new mold for Wolverine either, but I’d welcome it so long as it doesn’t look too oversized. But I would love for him to get new claws, specifically ones that are parallel with the hands instead of just holding them. The Wolverine claws just always bothered me lol.

If you google X-Men 97 Wolverine, the costume has some blue elements in it (boots, gloves, etc). I'm thinking the CMF Wolverine will be based out of this costume, as we've never had it before.

Barring the fact that the mech sets use plain legs, and we didn't get shoulder pads, the fig in your profile picture is based off that costume. But yeah, the CMF figs are assumably X-men 97 based, so we'll probably get an update with dual-molded legs and his shoulder pads.

Some of the Simpsons CMF figures were recycled for the Kwik-E-Mart and Dimensions sets. Series 8 Santa has appeared in at least 5 sets and I'm pretty sure there have been others such as the Wicked Witch and Lady Liberty that have been reused elsewhere.

As Agent Kallus mentioned there's also the Series 22 Bard where almost all of the parts were reused for the Lion Knights Castle. Only the legs remain exclusive to the CMF figure.

CMF will be the premium version, while the set version will be the downgrade similar to CMF Wanda/Scarlet Witch vs. Sanctum Wanda.

Not sure why they chose to put Wolverine again... instead of a premium version of Cyclops who could really use a unique mold for the visor/head... sad.

That hairpiece is 20 years old now and Lego loves pointy ear hairpieces, in my opinion it's a safe upgrade.  Maybe they keep it for Wolverine, since he has a primary hood and the toupee is secondary, but I think if there is a big revival of the theme, sooner or later, we will have a new one for Logan as well.

Pocahontas's hair from the Disney CMF in May will be in a minidoll set in June. I think we can probably put to bed CMF exclusivity.

If anything, we can still be thankful that the CMF's seem to drive new molds, regardless of whether they're exclusive.

This whole conversation has inspired me to go back and check, the 2nd Disney CMF included the same black/white design for Mickey and Minnie that was used in the Steamboat Willie (though the CMF was white and the set was silver for the leg printing and hats), but they retained the same head design

There was also Joker in the LEGO Batman Movie, who reused the same Arkham jumpsuit from the Asylum set, but just used a different head piece

Wolverine is insanely popular. Honestly more curious why Beast got chosen instead of Cyclops.

Shame about the timing though as they may wind up recasting or scrapping him as a character now and Ant-Man 3 kinda damaged my interest in an MCU Kang so I don't particularly find the character cool or desire getting a figure of him... If the figure is awesome, then I may end up getting it but I'm sure if Kang does stick around we'll have other updates of him over time.

Well if he had been, the CMF would be devoid of new X-Men characters. I do agree however, Beast doesn't need the massive attention to detail the CMF provides, but a 90s Cyclops, especially if as @LegendaryArticuno suggested, he get a hair/visor mold, would be <chefs kiss>

Though personally I would've preferred Gambit, he was always my favourite character, and I would trust the CMF to deliver on quality leg printing to portray his jacket

Hopefully we can get a 140$ Blackbird, with jean, cyclops, colossus, magneto or mr sinister, rogue, gambit and professor x, but lego would consider that asking too much, they really need to pump out these x-men sets.

Given his appearance in the Halloween special, I wonder if they'll give Werewolf-By-Night the Monkey King head piece. Of the existing options, I think it fits the best. Also, he's definitely getting the Bloodstone medallion for an accessory. I wonder if they'll make him black and white or not. While it would be neat and make him stand out, I hope they don't so he can fit in with other figures in a display.
