I've seen customs do this... I don't hate it but agree with whomever said it's a CMF and they can do a little better, especially for a character who should appear in several sets in the next few years

To be fair, the MCU kang helmet is awful and most likely hard to do in a lego form, the lego marvel superheroes 2 one works like that because comic kang's helmet is pretty flat and doesn't have much architectural design.

For me it's getting the missing official movie figure for Andrew's films. We already technically had Rhino and Blue Electro via a comic-inspired set and the only other one we are missing is Green Goblin from TASM2. I would'nt mind a Lizard set to be fair based on his short lab attack - would also give us the lab where the three Peters spent the most time interacting.

I think if we get Lizard he'd be a normal minifigure with one of the Avatar tails recoloured. I cannot see Lego going into new moulds or anything for him.

76222 has been delayed since last year, so it won't be a NWH set and it's probably DC.

As such we have three chances for an additional NWH set based on the set numbers we are aware of:
76246: ? - Unknown release
76263: ? (4+, 66 pcs) Brickset - August release
76266: $99.99 (10+,794pcs) Brickset - August release

Personally out of those I think 76246 & 76263 have the most potential, as I cannot see us getting two $99.99 NWH sets in August. I'd lean to 76266 being another legacy set or buildable aspect given we're getting Cap's shield had Thor's Hammer so I'd imagine it being Iron Man's Arc Reactor. I can see someone displaying those three items together.

Jamie Foxx electro has a very neat polybag!  But I don't think we will see a set for amazing spider-man… in any case Lizard is very simple to make, gremlins legs (but also normal printed legs) + new t-rex tail (CMF series 24 ready to use).  Normal head mold or new shoulder + head mold like Azog from the Hobbit (if they have the budget to use and want to make it bigger). 

And since I've been following Lego for so many years but never learn the lesson, I'm still hopeful, I still think it can happen :-P

Any ideas on how and where i should buy adam warlock, i don't wanna get it off of bricklink because of the insane shipping and handling prices that can happen, everyone on ebay is selling him for around 50 bucks rn

Just buy the set and sell the other figures and ship on eBay. You won't make your money back, but the remaining amount will likely be more acceptable for 1 minifigure.

Nah i don't want buy a 100$ set and hope someone buys the figures and set on the secondary market, tbh, the driving point of this set IS Adam Warlock.

Well that's why it's $50 on ebay.

I imagine the price will fall in the coming months while the set is still being sold. The set itself will also be discounted soon (at least here in the uk). I'm waiting until its 30% off before picking it up. Might make it more palatable for you.

Be patient. The set came out a week ago and like you said, everybody wants it ONLY for his fig. Prices will drop, but FOMO always spikes prices after release.

There's only 3 US listings currently, that will change.

What other options are you looking for then? You've clearly looked at all viable routes, if you don't want to try eBay then just pay the extortionate fee on Bricklink or give up.

I mean, it's a welcome disappointment to an extent, at least speaking personally. Managed to spend a lot of time just organising the Lego I have while also saving up for more things down the line. With the franchise basically going down in flames, I can at least have time to save up for legacy sets such as the NWH set as long as the figures deliver. I may go Avengers Tower if it's handled exceptionally well as a centerpiece and display for my MCU figures.

Yeah I'm definitely holding out hope that Adam Warlock gets reprinted... that set overall is an absolute disaster in design.

What are your main reasons for classing this year as a disappointment out of interest? 

Is that the general consensus on this forum?

Personally, I think it’s a decent year with the NWH set, CMF S2, and the rumoured AT being the clear highlights. Most people are indeed disappointed though, especially with the way Quantumania was treated and the missing characters in the GotG V3 sets. Then there’s the buildable objects and characters

Eh, we already know everything except the marvels 2, this year is a 6/10 for me, dont care for the nwh set personally, gotg sets were mid, the only highlight was morbius and the cmf.

We know almost everything, there are still two or three mystery sets.  Those, plus No Way Home, plus CMF, plus the Tower (and let's not forget the first Marvel encyclopedia) could save the year -in my opinion.

 

 so far it's totally disappointing :-/

Today I went to a local toy store and the Lego Marvel isle was just depressing... So many buildable figures and helmets / weapons, and almost no actually interesting minifigure sets.

Hot take, but i didn't like nwh, i don't wanna argue, but to me it just seems cheap, bring back old actors, easy money, the plot is horrendous in that movie, and it wouldn't be good if not for other actors returning, they pretty puch screwed over the spiderman mcu franchise from the start, they chose to focus on stark for 2/3 movie and they didn't know what to do afterwards.

ultimately, the original idea for nwh was way better, i wouldve liked if they developped that into a daredevil and spiderman team up where king pin sends his assasins after peter and kraven too, after revealing his identity.

I would'nt say the entire year, just what we've had so far has been underwhelming, a disappointment mostly in the sense that nothing has really grabbed me. I would'nt necessarily say any have been particularly horrendous other in concept or execution, they just don't engage me or motivate me to get them.

I've shifted primarily to desiring comic sets and legacy films along with phase 1-3 sets at this stage so it's been a bit limited in what it's offered this year other than Morbius and some of the figures parts from the Quinjet, already have Ghost Rider from the past.

Most the stuff I'm looking forward to is in the second half of the year such as the NWH set for Andrew/Tobey/Ock updates and the Avengers Tower depending how its handled. I'm expecting we'll get at least one more legacy set this year, hopefully the other $99.99 set, as we have something from Avengers, something from Avengers Age Of Ultron and something from Avengers Infinity War... that leaves Endgame OR something that includes Hulk and Hawkeye to fill out the Avengers roster from 2012's Avengers.

Unsure the general consensus. I think people are just a bit split at the moment though. Seems to be some discontent going around regarding the handling of the MCU along with if or how its getting adapted into sets and some questions regarding choices made in terms of what sets we are getting. Maybe sentiment will improve with the CMF and potential introduction of comic character sets again that the X-Men CMF and eventually X-Men Mansion could bring about.

I definitely echo that the increased focus on buildable figures and objects isn’t necessarily the best idea.

In moderation, any non minifigure-based set has a certain novelty to it (e.g. Infinity and Nano Gauntlets), and it certainly speaks to Lego’s versatility as a play system that so many different types of product can be developed with the same assortment of pieces. However, once these start becoming more and more common, it upsets the balance and diversity of this theme in general.

Saying that, I’m curious as to whether buildable objects and figures are produced in place of minifigure sets, or whether they’re intended to be their own thing to supplement the existing product portfolio. If it’s the latter, then fine. But if it’s the former where minifigure-scaled sets are eschewed in favour of buildable objects / figures, that’s where it starts to become frustrating.

Still, nothing will confound me more than that buildable Sorting Hat leak from Harry Potter!
