CowInADenBuilds Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 So I keep looking at the shield and I don't know exactly what I was expecting, but idk... I'm conflicted. I really, REALLY wanna see the back before I make any decisions... BUT as I keep looking, a thought occurred to me... can anyone confirm if this is in fact real? I say this because I had thought that there WAS supposed to be a figure included. More importantly tho, did y'all notice the name plate? It says "Captain America" NOT "Captain America's Sheild". Considering the naming on the other display sets this seems odd to me. ALSO did anyone see "Lucas Films" printed on the top right? Again... just seems a bit odd to me?! 🤔🤷♀️

LegendaryArticuno Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 (edited) Captain America's Shield leaked... it looks like TRASH. Didn't think a set could manage to look even more basic and boring than Thor's Hammer. No minifigs from what I can see in the leak. https://www.instagram.com/p/Csb59KJL-AP/?hl=en Edited May 20, 2023 by LegendaryArticuno

No The Avengers Tower is the only major upcoming Infinity Saga sounds set like something fans actually want. For every Daily Bugle we get a Hulkbuster, BP Bust, or Captain America Shield Dang, what did you not like about it? Pretty much everyone agrees it’s up there with No Way Home as the best post Endgame movie but opinions are opinions. The only people I think that wouldn’t think it’s great are Snyder fans that Hate Gunn.

I’m not the individual you’re responding to, but among other things with the film, I find it rather dubious that Gunn tries to have all these anti-animal abuse and exploitation sentiments (which I can agree with) and then make a joke of a deformed pig being later in the “film”. What’s so funny about that deformed pig being in that moment? Is it because it’s in the cages with the children? Why wouldn’t it be in there, they’re all in The High Evolutionary’s ship there’s no reason one of his deformed animal subjects couldn’t find its way in there. Is it Mantis’ reaction? She’s probably seen things more if not just as unfortunate and her opinions are shown in the film at points to be rather uninformed and/or inaccurate. So is it the appearance of the deformed pig being itself and it being unaware of how it looks? How is that funny when the film spends a great deal of itself before that moment showing how horrible these animal beings have had it, being abused, experimented on, and chucked away like it’s nothing? What’s so funny about it? It’s sad not funny. It makes Gunn seem very insincere, perfidious, and his “film” (and maybe arguably himself) manipulative. ——————— (“Being” used as in “human being”; denoting the individual not state.) I liked the ending of the movie and I liked the emotional parts like rockets backstory but I felt like those moments were crowded out by a really obnoxious and loud film. To me it was like they were constantly trying to maintain people’s attention by yelling every second they could lol. It doesn’t hold a candle to the first guardians film, but I enjoyed where the characters ended up. Ultimately I’d describe the movie as a film made largely for a TikTok generation. BUT I need to see it again, so my opinion is subject to change.

Maybe it’s because I love Gunn’s past work and most of the post Endgame content has been so underwhelming to me that Vol.3 blew almost all those out of the water (No Way Home was better) It just surprised me that in this forum some people didn’t love it as much as the majority of online as in saying it’s one of the only great post Endgame projects. I just hope everyone here can admit it was Miles better than Black Widow, Eternals, Love and Thunder, and Quantumania.
For €200 I want to hope it won't fall apart (unless you try to carom against your opponents). However, even if it were solid, it remains really ugly :-D) 8 ore fa, Scarilian disse: Rivelazione di Groot velenosata? ;) Also… but it seems the tap is turned off :-/ maybe it starts again tonight (I'm speaking for my time zone) to dilute the images over the course of the weekend… if the only novelty in the catalog was the shield it would be strange 8 hours ago, calebcold3 said: I assume you haven’t seen Vol.3? Granted it being a great film is more of a Gunn accomplishment but it’s still “a marvel product” I haven't seen it yet, but I loved the first one and hated the second one, so gunn isn't really a guarantee (although he's a good director and that's undeniable). But even if it was a masterpiece, his world of Guardians is over now, so I don't feel it's a real mcu product, the fate of the mcu remains in the hands of whoever is producing ant man and she hulk :-///

Kaijumeister Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 (edited) Just because something is made from Lego bricks, doesn’t make it worth building. Sets like the shield really exemplify that. For just over half the price, one could buy the Marvel Legends replica which would be far more display-worthy and easier to handle. When it comes to these buildable items, Lego really hit the sweet spot with the helmets and Infinity / Nano-Gauntlets in terms of scale and price-point, some things just don’t merit a massive footprint physically and financially. Are those catalogue leaks all we’re getting from that leaker? The August Star Wars sets are also in there so I would’ve thought we’d see pictures of the NWH set too. I'd say tied best post-infinity war film, IMO Endgame is not a benchmark of quality ( unless you are just using it as a benchmark of MCU eras) it has some nice moments but as a whole feels shallow and weak. Why'd they use the 3*3 circle tile in the middle? There's still a massive hole there? They probably could covered it up if they'd used a 2*2 with a 6*6 rounded plate on top.
SuperSquidman Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 @calebcold3 @squiz18 What about the aforementioned issue of the sincerity or lack thereof of some of the film’s animal treatment sentiments?
deemen Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 Just wanted to share my Lego MCU minifig collection. From my tracking, complete until the latest GotGV3 release. Unbelievable I've already filled 10 cases and more coming! Cannot wait for the Marvel CMF Series 2!

Sorry, my comment wasn't aimed at you, it was the "great film? no" statement that I thought came across as obnoxious. No engagement with the topic, or opinion as to why. Just a dismissive statement. You have engaged with it and shared your opinion of why you didn't like it which is great. I didn't interpret that scene in the way you did, but now I've thought about it I can see where you are coming from. I did see Peta approved of the film for its portrayal of animal experimentation https://www.peta.org/blog/guardians-of-the-galaxy-vol-3/ The character is called Lamb Shank and was voiced by James gunn. I don't think it will be appearing in a lego set!

But I thought nothing of the Disfigured Pig scene (or Lambshank). I understand why that scene could make you feel uncomfortable though even though It didn’t personally bother me. 5 hours ago, squiz18 said: That's the thing. Especially a film considered by the General public (it has the highest letterboxd rating of any MCU film and the second best second weekend drop of a mcu movie at the box office) to be great. @Flawless Cowboy I feel you need to explain why you didn’t like Vol.3 in order to not come across as dismissive or snobby. Like I said, opinions are opinions but at least explain why you have the opinion you do.

I doubt the legitimacy a lot primarily due to set 76265 and 76263: 76265: They claim this is a Sovereign ship featuring Gamora, Ayesha, Adam Warlock and Blurp. 76265 has been listed under the DC sets which is why I removed it from the lists and is heavily rumored as a 1989 Batwing. It's possible numbers can change, but it feels like a meme set because people like Blurp. There's also no reason for the delayed release of such a set. 76263: They claim a 66 piece 4+ set as being priced at $24.99 based off Thor's battle with the Destroyer featuring Thor and Jane. This would be a price per piece of $0.379 one of the worst price per piece lego sets. The other predictions such as the Blackbird, Deadpool mech and 76222 being an Aquaman set all feel like guesses rather than anything in concrete. Edited May 20, 2023 by Scarilian
